Front street has a great space for comedy I just don’t see this matching the vide. Hopefully they bring in good talent to fill the place.

RaunchyRancor

Maybe this place could be more focused on an improv format?

Skank_wrangler

Perhaps. Not my jam, but I could see that being popular and successful.

RaunchyRancor

Right, I don't think it would be improv either, but I could see an improv troupe doing well in the downtown area. I know it's not everyone's jam, but it would be another offering to the growing metro.

thereisabugonmybagel

Randomly, there will be a [free improv show at NDSU](https://www.instagram.com/p/C5lmMObvpI4/?igsh=d3N3NjNhYnl2ZWFn) tomorrow if you’re interested. Fwiw, I’m not affiliated with the improv troupe. I just got handed a flier about the show.

RIP to the servers that have to explain that they only serve IPAs and pineapple juice.

patchedboard

I mean…it works at Drekker

scarper42

That is a cursed location. Nothing lasts there.

PricklySquare

Wasabi made it

scarper42

They left the location.

For anyone who can't read the article here's the highlights: "Good Times on NP is planned for the restaurant space on the back side of the building at 623 NP Avenue in downtown Fargo. Access will be through the door to Sushi Burrito Cafe." "Good Times on NP will feature comedians [...] with open mic nights and local musicians as well"

PlantbasedSadness

Can we just require the article’s main point being posted in the comments for all these inforum articles people share? Paying for news? In this economy?

DaveByTheRiver

If you have an iPhone on safari you can use the reader mode to get past their paywall.

PlantbasedSadness

Doing the lord’s work. Thanks!

THANK YOU

An excerpt is cool, but the whole article would be considered a copyright violation. Either us or big Reddit would more than likely take it down.

Running a business for free? In this economy?

PlantbasedSadness

I mean, I’m only kidding, but feel free to share the text below since you value their journalism enough to subscribe?

coldupnorth11

I mean, in a roundabout way that is theft.

PlantbasedSadness

I’ve discovered a bypass thanks to a nice Redditor, you’ll never have to read my inforum complaints again. Sorry i advocated for internet theft.

Pleasant_Window_9860

Today it's internet theft, tomorrow it'll be grand theft auto to pay for your crystal meth addiction.

“Thou shalt not Ctrl+C Ctrl+V”. I’m pretty sure that’s one of the Ten Commandments.

Conveniently located just two blocks from the existing comedy club.

loneiris007

Conveniently located a couple blocks from a brewery or two as well lol. Sorry don't mind me I'm just salty because pixeled is on np who also serves microbrews lol.

dirkmm

Right? I'm not sure what niche this is filling but hey, best of luck I guess.

loneiris007

Well I think they are reaching for a broader spectrum but the other part I'm confused by (unless it's licensing related) is why do mocktails and microbrews but not full blown cocktails? Now I know there's politics about fargo liquor laws and only being x amount of available liquor licenses so maybe that's it. Rough cut sells microbrews and there's axe throwing. Pixeled sells microbrews and there's video games. I guess that's what this place is going for...they are doing microbrews and there is comedy. That's a harder sell, in my opinion, then video games or axe throwing but maybe not? It'll be interesting to see how it shakes out!

dirkmm

Full blown cocktails require a much, much more expensive liquor license especially if less than 50% of revenue comes from food sales. Fargo has some fairly restrictive liquor laws. The Cellar (Front Street Taproom) has a huge selection of microbrews and has comedy almost every weekend.

loneiris007

You bring a valid point about front street as well. This is an interesting business venture for these folks indeed. I have worked for breweries since 2017 but I am more versed in west fargo licensing over fargos (even though I've worked at pixeled 4ish years now.) I knew full blown liquor licenses are hard to obtain in fargo. Thanks for your input because I honestly spaced on the cellar (I feel like an ahole) because I have a friend who works at front street.

dirkmm

It's all good! Fargo Brewing also does comedy weekly and Boss' Chicken and Pizza has a comedy club, too. That's a lot of the same to draw from a relatively small potential customer pool.

The_Mann_In_Black

Probably because the non drinker/conscious drinking crowd is growing quickly. Could be liquor license too. I’d love a place with unique beverages that contain no alcohol.

ThyArtIsNorm

This is what I thought I literally work at FS and I'm like "uh first The Cellar got its name taken by a wine place on the same block now some nerds are snagging the concept's like what the hell
