Sodium potassium magnesium. ๐ so pink salt, salt substitute (potassium), magnesium (i like bisglycinate--higher absorption and easy on the stomach) powder or pills, and baking soda (don't skip this it's an antacid). โบ๏ธ๐
Thank you and this explains why I've felt weak and dizzy during my water fasts, which I'd been unable to complete.
Google search shows stores sells flavoured dissolve in water electrolyte tablets, would these be OK to take?
Oh for sure! They're not only vital for a safe fast but also to help prevent refeeding syndrome! Highly recommend!
Ah it's hard to say. Typically premade are too low for what you need per day and often will have proteins, calories, sugar, or carbs that might break your fast! Try to get one with the highest amounts available if you can! Amazon also has premade snake juice packets or i believe the brand fast lyte on amazon is a good one? The package is blue! If you don't like the taste of making your own electrolytes you can take the potassium in smaller doses throughout the day (I personally loathe the taste). ๐
Lolol omg I'm so sorry! Haha it's a struggle even for me while being here tbh ๐ญ๐คฃ
Thank you so much!! Definitely happier and healthier ๐๐ and enjoy your weekly fast ๐โค๏ธ
My fasts range anywhere from 5-30 days typically. I did about 54 days of fasting to get the 70lbs gone (a few prolonged fasts randomly over the past year). And then I use intermittent, omad or fractional to maintain the losses. Always electrolytes essentially the snake juice recipe!
It was not without its challenges that's for sure haha I'm typically very comfortable around the 21 day mark but finishing that 30 was a bucket list item for me. I rested A LOT during that time and while I felt absolutely incredible, I was definitely excited to transition into fractional fasting instead to reach my goals haha much easier and still just as effective!
There was about 3 long fasts (2-4 weeks) that really got the weight off and then I do fractional fasts to keep it off. So I often do several days of fasting a month mixed with intermittent/omad. It's a full lifestyle at this point ๐๐
Did you do any 3/42 fasts? Iโm not sure I can go five days with my family and needing to cook for them daily. Lol. You look like youโre in your 20โs maybe? Curious as I feel like age can make a difference.
I'm 29 haha 30 in two months! Definitely find a routine that works for you first and foremost. Sticking with it is the key! That's why fractional fasting worked so well for me. It was flexible and I could fast and refeed for however long I wanted to ๐๐
Amazing!! Yesss get that immune system reboot ๐ i did a few prolonged water fasts to get the 70lbs gone and then I use intermittent, omad and fractional to maintain ๐๐
Fractional is like taking a goal of 30 days and breaking it down into digestible chunks so it's not only easier psychologically but physiologically as well. So it's more flexible. Example: 21 day fast + 4 day refeed. 9 day fast + 2 day refeed. (Now you've hit your 30 day goal of 30 days fasted but in a more flexible way) ๐ and you repeat these "cycles" for however long you need. It's not the same as rolling fasts where the fasting/refeed times are exactly the same just repeated.
Iโm 36 hours into my longest fast now and wondering if I should try to go longer?! I just woke up and feel good so far. Iโm 235 and really want to loose 80 lbs basically. Iโve been doing 16:8 the last week and havenโt seen any movement on the scale so figured I needed a longer one to reset. Iโm 44, female. Any tips?
First off, amazing work congrats on 36 hours!! If you can go longer go for it!! My tips are drink your electrolytes, get ample amounts of rest, get out in the sun for a little walk if you can, keep busy with hobbies or skills, take a bath or listen to music to help you relax and de-stress, journal or track EVERYTHING as its nice to look back on everything, and just enjoy the process ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ
Thanks! I decided to do the 3/42โs and see how it goes. I just did a nice 30 min walk in the sun so got that accomplished and I had an hour massage booked earlier today. Got almost ten hours of sleep last night. Feeling accomplished ๐

Aww thank you. And it was a couple prolonged fasts over a year. Lost the majority of the weight with 2-4 week fasts and then maintained with intermittent/omad/fractional fasting ๐ total fasted days to lose the weight was about 54 days!
Whaaat no way haha nice to see you here too!! I make my own with the snake juice recipe (kinda) except I take the magnesium before bed and take the potassium as smaller shots throughout the day. ๐๐ I sip salty baking soda all day now haha
Absolutely incredible transformation!! I completely agree with what you said about electrolytes helping with hunger, and I love the "it's a lifestyle now" comment. Brava fellow fasting sister!
You look great! It also would appear that you're not struggling with excess skin as a result of the drastic weight loss. That's something that I've heard the autophagy that happens during prolonged fasting can minimize. Very encouraging. Great Job!
Ketoooo always on the refeed haha and then maintenance was technically low carb but not fully keto i just mainly did intermittent/omad/fractional fasts to maintain.
Great work. I'm an experienced faster as well but recently discovered how beneficial keeping things keto is for pre and post fast. I'm curious what breaking your fast looked like? Did you go very slow or just eat whatever but keep it keto?
Yesss absolutely! Yes I refeed slowly and stay keto. My refeed in order: (broths) bone broth, miso for probiotics, filler broths like chicken or beef. (Proteins) foods high in phosphorous like tuna, salmon, chicken etc. (Probiotics) miso broth, saukraut or white kimchi. Any fermented veggie is also good. (Veggies) anything steamed typically and pickles. I also added cheese as it has phosphorous and my body reacts well. All reintroduced slowly over x amount of days depending how long my fast was ๐ฅฐ
Congratulations!! Iโm so inspired by you. What did you do on the hard days?? Did you ever eat what you craved? Were you extremely strict? Did you ignore every temptation? So proud of you!! Also, what health benefits/ other changes have you noticed? Thank you๐๐พ๐ฅนโค๏ธ
I wasn't super strict no haha I allowed myself potatoes and rice as my carbs when I wanted during my maintenance periods after keto refeeds. I started to crave sugar less and less as time goes on and even now I don't ever really enjoy desserts anymore. I crave savoury foods over everything now which is a complete 180 from who I used to be. It has helped decrease my migraines from one almost every other day down to maybe 1 a month?! Which is amazing for me because I've struggled with them since I was 13. And it has drastically reduced my scalp psorasis!
What a transformation! Congratulations ๐ I need to know about the prolonged fasts! How do you prepare for them and how do you avoid cheating or slipping up?
Thank youu! Prep: have all my electrolytes ready and reduce caffeine/sugar intake pre fast. To avoid "cheating" I started doing fractional fasting so I could just fast and refeed as long as I wanted without feeling like it was a "cheat" so I could remain flexible. And then on my refeeds I stayed ketogenic but once I was in maintenance I allowed myself carbs like rice and potatoes too. I don't really crave sugar anymore since these fasts so its easier to resist as time goes on. My body is rewiring itself and I love it!! โค๏ธ

Shit. I was debating whether to splurge and make today a feast day, but your results here gave me the resolve to just stick with it for now. Thank you. Great work!
Thank you babes๐๐๐ I appreciate you replying! Going to start a fast at the end of the month, and I'm going to try to follow your schedule. I'm proud of you for keeping with it! Psa just a reminder you were beautiful before and after! But your progress is amazing and I hope you feel more confident and better in your skinโฅ๏ธ
First of all, bravo! Incredible work! I am so impressed, and Iโm sure you feel amazing!! I hope to see similar results myself! Iโm your height exactly and almost your SW, so Iโm very inspired. :)
Second, kind of personal question- what is your, ahem, monthly cycle like? Have you noticed any interruptions? I have read varying opinions (by experts!)- some say extended fasting isnโt the best for females, others say itโs no problem if you have the weight to lose. Any thoughts on this?
How have you dealt with the gallstone issue? Generally long fasts leads to a large accumulation of gallstones and risk getting the gallbladder removed.

Whatโs prolonged fasting? Is that another name for water fasting? And how long are you fasting at a time? You look great! So happy for you!
Yes it's water fasting for long periods! The longest I've done is 30 days consecutively. Thank you ๐ ๐
Wait so you only drink water and nothing else for 30 days?
Electrolyte water only yes
Silly question but what isย Electrolyte water? I see this mentioned a lot on water fasting threads

What kind of fasts did you do?
Electrolyte water fasts mostly and then maybe intermittent, omad or fractional to maintain ๐๐ช
