This is actually pretty common at any parade or demonstration on Dickson. It's most likely PD with an advantage point looking for trouble, as I've seen them before with uniformed officers as well.
I drove down Dickson this morning around 7:15am and watched 3 k9 officers sniffing the streets for what I suspect would be explosives. They also had officers stationed at the major intersections while the dogs worked. Glad they were out and about today

There were visible snipers with rifles at the black lives rally on the square a couple years ago so maybe they've learned to be more discreet

He is there to protect the participants and their rights. It doesn't have to be us and them, it can be we.
Considering that those are the exact places where right wing terrorists murder our brothers and sisters, that’s an insane take.
He is there to observe the public and inform others when danger happens. You don’t have to fear them but you do you, chicken little.
Probably spotting for PD on the ground. Unless the President is in the Pride Parade, don’t count on dedicated sniper presence.
