Yup, I also find chocolate is the best for whey protein since it does the best at masking the whey flavour and cocoa is a bit bitter to offset any weird sweeteners used. Gold Standard has been my go-to but just tried a new one from Hol Food since it's isolate (not concentrate) for a slightly better price. Just got it and it tastes great - very much like chocolate milk

Sack_o_Bawlz

I like Extreme Milk Chocolate, even in water. Bonus for ice cold water - tastes great.

AotKT

Unflavored whey and add whatever flavors you want.

HaileyandRoccosMom

This is what I do. Bulk supplements whey protein isolate and add vanilla extract. You can also add Strawberries, peanut butter, cocoa powder…. Tastes way better and you get more control over what goes in your body. I personally also add xanthan gum and cellulose but some people are anti-gum additives so that’s up to you. I sometimes add the smallest pinch of iodized salt. I am also a fan of the fairlife nutrition plan drinks though (30g protein, 150 cals).

BadgerSmaker

I've switched to unflavoured rice protein as its cheaper. I add cocoa and peanut butter.

TexTheBrit

I love unflavored because it can be used as any milk substitute. Personal favorite is in place of the dairy for Mac and cheese when I want to indulge a bit.

PilsbandyDoughboy

My biggest gripe with trying to be healthy. I struggle to get my protein in and want to get back on the shakes. Shit is too damn expensive man. Paying $60+ for a giant tub of something that I will more than likely find disgusting. Can’t get samples of anything to try it out first to see. So frustrating

sirlost33

Ekkovision has some samples and 15 serving options that are like $20. Their smores was pretty solid.

LouLouLooLoo

I love the MyProtein flavors, but they have a few natural ones, like vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. Maybe those will taste less artificial to you? Or try the Clear whey fruity ones to get away from the vanilla type stuff. They're like juice to be dissolved in water.

qqruz123

Imo they all taste crappy on their own (I've tried 15+ different ones). The idea is to mix up other ingredients and not really taste the powder

StunningWolverine645

Lot of brands also have a “natural” flavored protein powder which is supposedly flavorless (haven’t tried them myself) except a slightly buttery/creamy flavor, which makes it even easier to not taste the powder in a smoothie or shake or whatever and they’re also cheaper most of the time since there’s no flavoring or sugar or other additives etc

Phrantix_JM

I've had so many different protein powders. Some good, some cheap, some undrinkable. I ALWAYS use just water, so i feel like my take on this is relatively consistent. Dymatize ISO 100 is consistently spectacular as far as flavor goes. I've recently tried Rule 1 which is a slight step down, but still very good.

PapaThyme

The brand, Levels, has great tasting stuff imo, but I use in my daily bulletproof coffee with other flavor enhancers, not as a standalone drink. Makes it very creamy without the coffeemate. Hot or cold, it tastes like hot cocoa or chocolate milk. Hello kid in me. I also use inside baked goods to pump up the protien. Works great!

taintmonster831

The Body Fortress vanilla flavor is pretty tasty. I got it on Amazon. Fairlife bottled protein shakes are really good too. If you don’t like those, I suggest you try Barebells protein bars! So good. Especially the creamy crisp and cookies and cream flavors.

LouLouLooLoo

Barebells is the GOAT, especially the banana one.

ruhvengify

Are the Fairlife shakes and protein powder shakes essentially the same thing I’m just worried if one will help me more than the other

qqruz123

Protein is protein, everything else is for flavoring.

taintmonster831

They are protein shakes that are already mixed up and bottled for you. Read the label because the company also makes regular milks.

cali_grrl

My favorite for over 10 years has been NOW Foods unflavored whey protein isolate. 1 scoop with a double shot of espresso and a small spoon of condensed milk is my daily driver. No flavor and mixes beautifully with a shaker cup.

DarbyGirl

Make smoothies with them. It's the only way I can have them. I do a strawberry powder with banana, whatever frozen fruit I have, Greek yogurt and water.

Jessum

PEScience is pretty good. Even my picky husband likes it (although he's only tried it in a creami)

justhope314

Unflavored by Levels, Promix or Naked Whey. That's all I use.

ARoodyPooCandyAss

You doing straight water? Also if you don’t like ghost you won’t like any unless you don’t like the cookies and cream as well, definitely the best I’ve had. I mix in almond milk half and half and it’s as close to a milk shake as I’ve had.

ruhvengify

I tried it with milk and then with milk and a scoop of vanilla ice cream and the after taste and overall taste of it was horrible

BrilliantAnxiety5227

I use Rival Whey, Rich Chocolate flavor. You can find it on Amazon, I will sometimes add a small scoop of peanut butter powder to make it better, too. Be careful with the fairlife drinks, though. They contain Surcralose (artificial sweetener) and Cellulose Gum (thickening agent), which can possibly cause gut issues. But if you like them and aren't too crazy on cutting those things out, go for it

iwillsleeptomorrow

Any flavour from Rule1 is great!!!

Ayrtone

Soylent tastes pretty good. They started selling protein powder a couple months ago.

Appropriate_Ad_4416

I'm a fan of redcon mrelite.

thiswayart

Muscle Milk Vanilla Cream

Warm_Floor8242

ON banana cream is amazing

Mandyrad

I finally found one that I don’t mind drinking by FYTA. The caramel vanilla is pretty good. I’m incredibly picky btw and hate every other brand I’ve tried.

[deleted]

Isopure unflavored. You can put it in anything. Even mixed with plain water and chugged it’s doable.

shiftyeyeddog1

Have you tried Isopure’s protein powders, especially the fruit ones (Infusions)? They mix up clear and taste more like an electrolyte drink than a protein drink. I use them to hydrate and get some protein after runs or lifts. Watermelon lime and berry are great.

EDDiE_SP4GHETTi

Dymatize is delicious. Especially the cocoa pebbles.

UpInTheStars18

I like Legion. My favorites are the chocolate hazelnut and cinnamon cereal. I typically have them as ice cream (love my Ninja Creami), but they are also good on their own.

QuintiusAurelius

Jocko Molk - delicious. [https://jockofuel.com/collections/protein-powders](https://jockofuel.com/collections/protein-powders)

Misterbarbi

Protein powder usually makes me super sick. Like… vomiting sick. Isopure unflavored whey protein in Greek yogurt with fruit and maybe a little bit of honey to cut the flavor… it’s been a game changer. Finally meeting my protein goals most days.

diatonix

Vanilla is not it. Just go with Chocolate, usually works better for protein powders.

ae232

Costco.

oceansapart333

I like Orgain.
