Seeing Scott also worked on the script, it definitely seems like the film is going a slightly different direction than the lore of the games (what one can decipher from them at least.)
Regardless, it still seems very much in theme for the games

I’m really hoping that the PG-13 rating won’t impact the absolute brutality that getting springlocked inflicts on a person, it’s really my only big concern with the rating.
My guess is if it happens, they’ll just tone down the amount of gore that we actually see, and just show him thrashing around with some gruesome sounds to back it up. That would honestly be more than enough, IMO; they don’t really need to have blood spray everywhere to get the point across. 😄
But they don’t *need* to show tons of gore, is my point. The sounds and *some* blood is all that it’ll really need to give us the idea of how brutal it is, especially for everyone who’s played the games and already knows what’s happening, so I’m sure they can still make that scene work in a PG-13 movie.

I would guess that the quick snippets we see of SpringTrap in this trailer are going to be apart of a scene that shows William Afton using the old unused SpringBonnie suit in the back to lure kids towards him then kill. Basically that suit is post Fredbear Diner closing SpringBonnie, but way pre-FNaF 3 SpringBonnie, where William's "dead" corpse has been rotting in the suit in abandoned room for decades
The William we see could be a flashback or something seeing as the movie doesn’t take place in the 80s, William could be mimicking his own voice in the phone call as a way of getting Mike to the restaurant. This is just my dumb theory though…

Yeah, i was cooking the reveal a few weeks ago because it didn't look scary but this trailer lowkey changed my mind. At the very least it's already scarier and better than every other horror game movie adaption only from the trailer.

The hand coming out of the suit is exactly the right kind of horror for this franchise, like seeing real eyes behind the mask in a lot of the analog horror YouTube projects.
The Freddy with human eyes hallucination plus the screen where Bonnie stares right into the camera with no eyes were some of the scariest shit I ever saw back in the day.
The series was able to achieve glimpses of that same eerieness throughout its lifespan, but I think humanizing the animatronics was a mistake.
Mark absolutely loves to play with his fanbase, this statement of his means absolutely nothing. He obviously cannot say that he's in the movie for plentiful reasons so instead he just toys around with the idea.
We will know for sure when the movie comes out. But given how vital Mark was to this franchise I'm almost 100% positive we will see some cameo of him in some shape or form.
Andrew and Tobey also definitively, completely, almost vehemently denied being in No Way Home. Yet we saw how that turned out.

Maybe, but the fact that Mike is taking care of his little sister on his own seems to imply that neither their mom or dad were present for her upbringing at all. And if they aren’t present for Abby now, it’s possible they weren’t present for much of Mike’s youth either. Could’ve been years since he’s heard his father’s voice, and on top of Afton clearly going by a fake name, yeah I’d say it’s pretty possible he doesn’t recognize his voice at all.

Man this may be a small trailer, but you can tell they wanted to get the movie just right.
I love how REAL the whole movie feels. The animatronics, the pizzeria sets, the copious amount of merchandise, it all feels so real.
Also William in the Spring Bonnie suit looks absolutely amazing and that hand coming out of Freddy's mouth is the perfect kind of horror for FNaF.
I am a little worried that the movie might be a bit too expository and while it's cool to see Coryxkenshin, it is a bit distracting.
But other than those, this was a pretty good trailer!
Why do the animatronics want to hurt his sister? Unless that’s just Vanessa’s theory, it doesn’t really make sense. But it seems that Freddy isn’t hostile towards Abby, so maybe they ARE only after Mike.

You have to remember, this movie isn’t just for the fans that know every piece of lore. It’s the beginning of its own cinema experience, keeping the audience guessing with whatever happens next.
Like the first game, all we knew was that there’s haunted animatronics out to kill people. Everything you know about fnaf, it’s best to just set it aside and see this as chapter 1.
So my prediction that William would be using a brand new alias as a cover up was right, with this universe's take on it being "Steve Raglan". I absolutely love the part where Spring Bonnie begins to walk and you can begin hearing the Toreador March, that was awesome. Also really love the close up on "Springtrap". the suit looks fantastic and I love how they nailed the look of him. Especially his eyes, they're incredibly on point.
Rest of the trailer looks pretty good, I'm very excited for the film.
I’m not sure about the new motive of the animatronics. I really wish they kept the old one but I’m keeping on open mind. Anyways Vannessa’s character looks sick and the foxy design as well. Super excited and can’t wait to see the full thing
I think that Vanessa dont really know animatronics motive. I think she gueses in order to try to help Mike, but actually animatronics still want to protect kids
What Vanessa says the motive is might not necessarily be what the motive actually is. Judging from the trailer, they seem to be trying to help Abby solve their murders (only becoming aggressive once the eyes switch to red, william control theory popping off frfr)
Don’t even need William control. One of the main plot points in the original games is that the children are so vengeful that they basically project the face of their killer onto any security guard that enters the restaurant. It could be they’re friendly to Abby, a child, but see Mike as a threat.
Everything is seriously looking amazing so far. I'm really digging the lighting and aesthetic of the pizzeria and the way everything is lit and shot, it has a nice creative flare to it. The film overall has a nice feel and look to it.
I'm really digging the way the animatronics are looking now that we get to see more of them, I think the eye glow is done much better when it's the yellowish tint, makes them look bloodshot.
The final shot of Mike screaming really has me tense. I can't wait for October.
I don’t like the possibility of making the animatronics the (real) villains, the line “they want to make her one of them” didn’t suit right with me but I am not that deep into the lore and that could be a misleading line and the female cop could be a villain, this would be reinforced by Freddy and the little girl in the taxi, she seemed happy. Really excited about the movie nonetheless!
I'm really mixed on what I've seen so far. There's so much good shit and a bunch of stuff I'm worried about. I'll kinda summarize it, see if anyone feels the same.
On the one hand:
+ Holy shit live action Springtrap. That alone has me hyped, I'm such a fucking sucker. The animatronics look incredible and I'm so glad they went for practical effects and if they do Springtrap right he'll be incredible.
+ Following on from that, I both predict and hope they'll include the springlock failure. It's just one of the most visceral pieces of horror in the whole series, slowly bleeding to death after being impaled in about fifty different places.
+ I like how they've clearly taken a page from some of the analog horror stuff floating around. Like creepy visions and hallucinations and that stuff. It makes sense, you can't exactly build a whole ass film on jumpscares alone.
On the other hand...
- I wanna be wrong, but I feel like the cop woman is just so gonna be "le generic love interest". Like man do we really need a romance subplot in the FNAF movie? Like "👉👈 what if we kissed in Freddy Fazbear's Pizza?? 😳" Come on now
- Someone else mentioned the Reddit humor, and I hate it too but honestly goddamn Marvel has so thoroughly poisoned the well of the film industry that I didn't think we had much chance of escaping it. Here's hoping it's not too intolerable

Honestly I reckon they're gonna reveal that she was working with William the whole time at the end. Some Saw level shit. Gonna be fucking kino just u wait
They’re condensing games.
We know the story but they’re adapting it for new audiences while staying true to the original story.
And we’re meant to think that the animatronics are the bad guys trying to kill Abby, when in fact it’s just William Afton dressed up in his old Spring Bonnie suit, just like he did when the original kids went missing. He’s back killing kids because he’s found the secret to immortality after seeing what happened with the original 4.
The cop pretends to be Mike and Abby’s friend but she’s actually in cahoots with William, twist #1.
Mike will spend the first part of the movie piecing together what happened with the kids and his sister. A series of dreams/hallucinations/visions will show kids getting kidnapped, murdered and stuffed. Also will highlight a couple other employees getting killed by animatronics just to show how brutal they are. We think they’re just targeting innocent people and kids but they’re killing adults that bear a resemblance to the adult who killed them.
And they’re on the children’s side. They’re the good guys, even if they’ve killed a couple innocent adults in the process. It’s not their fault. Twist #2.
The movie will end with William Afton getting springlocked and shut inside Freddy’s, teasing movie #2, which will see Springtrap as the main villain with withereds and New animatronics for the second movie.
That’s how I think it will all go for the movie plot. Generous to the source material, the story hasn’t changed just some pieces moved around.
And I for one am fucking PUMPED.

Seeing Cory pop up at the end was unironically the most hyped moment of this trailer. Really hope the other notable Fnaf youtubers like Mark, 8bitRyan, Dawko and Matpat get at least some form of a cameo considering how much they brought to the franchise and it's growth over the years.
I wonder how much money they are leaving on the table releasing it streaming day 1. I am glad that I won't have to watch it in a dark theater because I don't handle scary things well and will be watching this in the morning with every light in my house on, but if it was only in theaters I would probably be there trying to watch it at least.
Also once it is streaming it is uploaded so many places that the target demographic knows about it is going to eat into the streams as well.

The hand coming out of the suit is exactly the right kind of horror for this franchise, like seeing real eyes behind the mask in a lot of the analog horror YouTube projects.
The Freddy with human eyes hallucination plus the screen where Bonnie stares right into the camera with no eyes were some of the scariest shit I ever saw back in the day. The series was able to achieve glimpses of that same eerieness throughout its lifespan, but I think humanizing the animatronics was a mistake.

Mark absolutely loves to play with his fanbase, this statement of his means absolutely nothing. He obviously cannot say that he's in the movie for plentiful reasons so instead he just toys around with the idea. We will know for sure when the movie comes out. But given how vital Mark was to this franchise I'm almost 100% positive we will see some cameo of him in some shape or form.

Maybe, but the fact that Mike is taking care of his little sister on his own seems to imply that neither their mom or dad were present for her upbringing at all. And if they aren’t present for Abby now, it’s possible they weren’t present for much of Mike’s youth either. Could’ve been years since he’s heard his father’s voice, and on top of Afton clearly going by a fake name, yeah I’d say it’s pretty possible he doesn’t recognize his voice at all.

It could be Mike trying to manipulate William, William trying to manipulate Mike... there's plenty possibilities and I think it's too soon to write off the Michael Afton theory just yet.
Man this may be a small trailer, but you can tell they wanted to get the movie just right. I love how REAL the whole movie feels. The animatronics, the pizzeria sets, the copious amount of merchandise, it all feels so real. Also William in the Spring Bonnie suit looks absolutely amazing and that hand coming out of Freddy's mouth is the perfect kind of horror for FNaF. I am a little worried that the movie might be a bit too expository and while it's cool to see Coryxkenshin, it is a bit distracting. But other than those, this was a pretty good trailer!
Why do the animatronics want to hurt his sister? Unless that’s just Vanessa’s theory, it doesn’t really make sense. But it seems that Freddy isn’t hostile towards Abby, so maybe they ARE only after Mike. The hand coming out of the mouth had me screaming “kill it with fire!” cause damn that’s creepy. Definitely excited to see this!

You have to remember, this movie isn’t just for the fans that know every piece of lore. It’s the beginning of its own cinema experience, keeping the audience guessing with whatever happens next. Like the first game, all we knew was that there’s haunted animatronics out to kill people. Everything you know about fnaf, it’s best to just set it aside and see this as chapter 1.
So my prediction that William would be using a brand new alias as a cover up was right, with this universe's take on it being "Steve Raglan". I absolutely love the part where Spring Bonnie begins to walk and you can begin hearing the Toreador March, that was awesome. Also really love the close up on "Springtrap". the suit looks fantastic and I love how they nailed the look of him. Especially his eyes, they're incredibly on point. Rest of the trailer looks pretty good, I'm very excited for the film.
I’m not sure about the new motive of the animatronics. I really wish they kept the old one but I’m keeping on open mind. Anyways Vannessa’s character looks sick and the foxy design as well. Super excited and can’t wait to see the full thing

What Vanessa says the motive is might not necessarily be what the motive actually is. Judging from the trailer, they seem to be trying to help Abby solve their murders (only becoming aggressive once the eyes switch to red, william control theory popping off frfr)
Don’t even need William control. One of the main plot points in the original games is that the children are so vengeful that they basically project the face of their killer onto any security guard that enters the restaurant. It could be they’re friendly to Abby, a child, but see Mike as a threat.

Everything is seriously looking amazing so far. I'm really digging the lighting and aesthetic of the pizzeria and the way everything is lit and shot, it has a nice creative flare to it. The film overall has a nice feel and look to it. I'm really digging the way the animatronics are looking now that we get to see more of them, I think the eye glow is done much better when it's the yellowish tint, makes them look bloodshot. The final shot of Mike screaming really has me tense. I can't wait for October.

I don’t like the possibility of making the animatronics the (real) villains, the line “they want to make her one of them” didn’t suit right with me but I am not that deep into the lore and that could be a misleading line and the female cop could be a villain, this would be reinforced by Freddy and the little girl in the taxi, she seemed happy. Really excited about the movie nonetheless!

I'm really mixed on what I've seen so far. There's so much good shit and a bunch of stuff I'm worried about. I'll kinda summarize it, see if anyone feels the same. On the one hand: + Holy shit live action Springtrap. That alone has me hyped, I'm such a fucking sucker. The animatronics look incredible and I'm so glad they went for practical effects and if they do Springtrap right he'll be incredible. + Following on from that, I both predict and hope they'll include the springlock failure. It's just one of the most visceral pieces of horror in the whole series, slowly bleeding to death after being impaled in about fifty different places. + I like how they've clearly taken a page from some of the analog horror stuff floating around. Like creepy visions and hallucinations and that stuff. It makes sense, you can't exactly build a whole ass film on jumpscares alone. On the other hand... - I wanna be wrong, but I feel like the cop woman is just so gonna be "le generic love interest". Like man do we really need a romance subplot in the FNAF movie? Like "👉👈 what if we kissed in Freddy Fazbear's Pizza?? 😳" Come on now - Someone else mentioned the Reddit humor, and I hate it too but honestly goddamn Marvel has so thoroughly poisoned the well of the film industry that I didn't think we had much chance of escaping it. Here's hoping it's not too intolerable I'm genuinely hyped despite myself though. Fingers crossed for sure.

They’re condensing games. We know the story but they’re adapting it for new audiences while staying true to the original story. And we’re meant to think that the animatronics are the bad guys trying to kill Abby, when in fact it’s just William Afton dressed up in his old Spring Bonnie suit, just like he did when the original kids went missing. He’s back killing kids because he’s found the secret to immortality after seeing what happened with the original 4. The cop pretends to be Mike and Abby’s friend but she’s actually in cahoots with William, twist #1. Mike will spend the first part of the movie piecing together what happened with the kids and his sister. A series of dreams/hallucinations/visions will show kids getting kidnapped, murdered and stuffed. Also will highlight a couple other employees getting killed by animatronics just to show how brutal they are. We think they’re just targeting innocent people and kids but they’re killing adults that bear a resemblance to the adult who killed them. And they’re on the children’s side. They’re the good guys, even if they’ve killed a couple innocent adults in the process. It’s not their fault. Twist #2. The movie will end with William Afton getting springlocked and shut inside Freddy’s, teasing movie #2, which will see Springtrap as the main villain with withereds and New animatronics for the second movie. That’s how I think it will all go for the movie plot. Generous to the source material, the story hasn’t changed just some pieces moved around. And I for one am fucking PUMPED.

Seeing Cory pop up at the end was unironically the most hyped moment of this trailer. Really hope the other notable Fnaf youtubers like Mark, 8bitRyan, Dawko and Matpat get at least some form of a cameo considering how much they brought to the franchise and it's growth over the years.
I wonder how much money they are leaving on the table releasing it streaming day 1. I am glad that I won't have to watch it in a dark theater because I don't handle scary things well and will be watching this in the morning with every light in my house on, but if it was only in theaters I would probably be there trying to watch it at least. Also once it is streaming it is uploaded so many places that the target demographic knows about it is going to eat into the streams as well.
