Normal lol
I usually pick the first Hispanic face preset and bring the tone up to match myself.
His face is the most normal/good looking preset that doesn't look like a caveman.
I've ended up doing this with NV for years now. With Fo3 the Caucasian models don't look like frogmen/fishmen, so if I'm playing a Caucasian character I can actually select that Race lol.
The only thing stronger than my current dark souls 2 character are his own chin and moustache. His moustache could arguably take him but then it would have no way to ambulate. A prisoner of its own freedom.
Bizarre. I made a very manly looking woman with albinism and named her obu obu on fo76. Reactions I get from other players are generally disgust and laughter
I would do bizarre characters back in oblivion (Alchemedes comes to mind)when I was younger, now I most spend a lot of time on the looks and getting a character backstory for how I’ll play the character.
when im playing a good guy i make my charavter look normal, when im doing an evil run im creating an alien to make the playthrough less immersive so i dont feel sad for killing my fav characters
I play as myself, so I spent quite a bit of time getting the face just right. I also draw/write my presets in a notepad so I can easily remake my character if the save somehow got erased.
In any game the first playthrough I roleplay as myself. Any other playthrough after that whether for fun or for achievements I play random characters. It was a little awkward in new Vegas considering my real name is "benny" lmao
Honestly, I make sure the character has bright purple or pink hair in case I accidentally press out of first person view during a fight and I can quickly see which one is “me” by the bright hair.
I like aesthetically ridiculous choices that make for good practical solutions 🤷
depending on the level of immersion i’d like in a game. in dark souls, a game i’ve already beaten multiple times, theres very little immersion so i just go ham on the sliders but in my current play through of NV (my first) its much more immersive. because i’m experiencing the story for the first time and trying to be immersed ill make a character that has a personality for the game
I'm aware this is the new vegas sub, but I tried to make myself in fallout 4 for the first time yesterday, and it didn't look like me and made me really uncomfortable, so I guess the second one
I tried weird and ended up making alien looking person with big eyes.
now I just start game without playing much attention on character design otherwise I will spend 2-3 hours just in that.
I hit random about 500 times until I find the least ugly face it creates, then hit it another 100 times until I find the one I'm satisfied with while kicking myself for not picking the first one that looked way better.
I’m a lesbian so i make pretty women i fall in love with and then get sad when i continually blow them up to bits and pieces cause i forgot mines exist
Bizarre and bazaar are two different things, but I opt for creating normal ones! However, in my most recent play through of pure melee, I gave myself a crazy sharp jaw
I always want my characters to look distinctive and stand out from the pack. I don't go so ridiculous that they're not believable as human, but I'm not afraid to make them [odd](https://imgur.com/qwxWE7l) or [ugly](https://imgur.com/lX4wkm9), though I [don't](https://imgur.com/ZUaU5P9) [always](https://imgur.com/B4acQNR) resort to that.
Normal. While I appreciate goofy looking characters, it does annoy me the amount of Fromsoft games who repeatedly make threads to name their goofy characters. We're better than that FO crowd, let's not become that! (Now I feel people will post more of these with name requests to spite me...).
Depends on the run. I'm about to replay this for the first time in 10+ years once I get viva new vegas to work and plan on taking it seriously and going full rpg mode.
I'm always female, usually 30s with black hair, brown/hazel eyes (and in FO a few scars).
But this survival playthrough I am a modern 25-year old European western hunter-gatherer with darker skin and blue eyes.
William murderface vibes
Lmao exactly what I was thinking
My first thought was Carl from ATH. "Bear and bull? It don't matter. None of this matters."
I KNOW WHO YOU AAAAAARE!
I was thinking Henry Zubrowski
Normal lol I usually pick the first Hispanic face preset and bring the tone up to match myself. His face is the most normal/good looking preset that doesn't look like a caveman.

I agree, hispanic people are so badass
Why thank you
Normal. Just cuz I like to rp ingame.
Me, ridiculous. For the same reason as you.
My most played character has bright blue hair and banana-yellow skin as well as quite a blocky shaped head
Marge simpson
Only eggs can sustain me
Hell ye!
Doc Mitchell didn't have a lot to work with.
I always make normal characters EXCEPT in Fromsoft games, where it is contractually obligated to make the worst abomination possible
The only thing stronger than my current dark souls 2 character are his own chin and moustache. His moustache could arguably take him but then it would have no way to ambulate. A prisoner of its own freedom.
Nah, i go default presets and make playthrough around them
Bizarre. I made a very manly looking woman with albinism and named her obu obu on fo76. Reactions I get from other players are generally disgust and laughter
My guy is tacticool as fuck https://imgur.com/a/ywkbrrD
Default Female + Domestic Goddess. Every single time
Literally my playthrough now
What’s domestic goddess
Yeah I’m curious too?
It’s a hairstyle
its this hairdo https://fallout-archive.fandom.com/wiki/Christine_Kendall?file=Christine_Kendall_FI.jpg
In fallout I make normal ones, in Oblivion on the other hand…
I use the default face because I never see my character
Boo 1st person 3rd person gang here
Normal. My couriers tend to scare people with their actions, not their face
I would do bizarre characters back in oblivion (Alchemedes comes to mind)when I was younger, now I most spend a lot of time on the looks and getting a character backstory for how I’ll play the character.
My guy looked like Dr. Doofenschmirtz' eviler twin.
I tend to just go for what I'd choose for my hairstyle and roughly make the character look like myself.
Alchestbreach?
when im playing a good guy i make my charavter look normal, when im doing an evil run im creating an alien to make the playthrough less immersive so i dont feel sad for killing my fav characters
it's mandatory that I look like a cowboy
Normal. I trend towards more of the cool factor than funny factor in games.
I play as myself, so I spent quite a bit of time getting the face just right. I also draw/write my presets in a notepad so I can easily remake my character if the save somehow got erased.
That is a very spermular being, that schloeberler
Great words
In the first pic, the character resembles Blue Hawk from The Boys(amazon prime series).
I spend lots of time making them look good... then slapping a helmet on
I create my son in any game I create the protag. I’m a weirdo.
As long as he doesn’t get imposter syndrome I guess haha
Eh he’s 2 hahaha
I made an almost identical one back in the day
This recent New Vegas play through I made an Asian character who's balding and has the fu man chu mustache and named my character "Phuk Yu"
Classic; I chuckled
Mine’s just a guy… but with blue hair
Average guy today
Beard as well?
Forsure, or quirky stache
In any game the first playthrough I roleplay as myself. Any other playthrough after that whether for fun or for achievements I play random characters. It was a little awkward in new Vegas considering my real name is "benny" lmao
*insert Spider-Man meme*
Honestly, I make sure the character has bright purple or pink hair in case I accidentally press out of first person view during a fight and I can quickly see which one is “me” by the bright hair. I like aesthetically ridiculous choices that make for good practical solutions 🤷
IMO ridiculous-look feels the most free. The ‘main character energy’ comes out
Bro thinks he is playing Dark Souls
Normal first playthrough, then schizophrenic nightmare after
normal, i am heavy on the roleplaying aspect
depending on the level of immersion i’d like in a game. in dark souls, a game i’ve already beaten multiple times, theres very little immersion so i just go ham on the sliders but in my current play through of NV (my first) its much more immersive. because i’m experiencing the story for the first time and trying to be immersed ill make a character that has a personality for the game
but the character creator sucks in NV but you didnt hear that from me
I run older gen games on a 720p monitor and have found it makes the visuals blend more subtly. (Not accounting for mods)
I generally try to make them look as silly as possible and then forget about it so that every once in a while I’ll swap to third person and giggle
I only make hot characters
I never make custom characters.
Looks like Zero Lenny's Dark Souls builds lol
I'm aware this is the new vegas sub, but I tried to make myself in fallout 4 for the first time yesterday, and it didn't look like me and made me really uncomfortable, so I guess the second one
First playthrough is serious, second is silly.
Did somebody eat his Civil War shoes?
I tried weird and ended up making alien looking person with big eyes. now I just start game without playing much attention on character design otherwise I will spend 2-3 hours just in that.
My roommate left once I first booted up the game; came back and was surprised I still still customizing
Always borderline war crime facial features.
Normal, but I’ve had the occasional fun-run with the Oblivion character creator. Goddamn did I make some cursed creations.
I make regular characters. But I respect you "Pale Paulie"
I hit random about 500 times until I find the least ugly face it creates, then hit it another 100 times until I find the one I'm satisfied with while kicking myself for not picking the first one that looked way better.
Save preset slot would be appreciated
I run around in the nude with a t51 helmet.
Wish i could do photos but im doing laser dan. He's a max luck smarty pants who only uses energy weapons.
Ye I maxed luck on this playthru (also my first) bc.. well, Vegas
Ridiculous characters EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
I make my characters as ugly as possible and it always makes for a hilarious killcam appearance
First to call that out, I completely let that slip by me. Ya got a good eye on ya shooter, what vault did you say you were from?
No problem, not trying to be rude, you don’t know till you know! Also, to answer the latter, 69. But they all left..
Walter Very White?
I always want my characters to look distinctive and stand out from the pack. Normal, it just doesn't feel right for me
Normal. While I appreciate goofy looking characters, it does annoy me the amount of Fromsoft games who repeatedly make threads to name their goofy characters. We're better than that FO crowd, let's not become that! (Now I feel people will post more of these with name requests to spite me...).
No name needed here, I always default to a variation of my username
Well you're doing everyone a great service, it's the constant pandering the Fromsoft players expect which kills me!
The only time I’ll ever make a goofy character is if a game has a goofy (bad) customization system.
Normal, I cant roleplay with a weird ass character.
If I was role playing I would definitely make a character to reflect that. This was my first playthru so I played more strategic
Third one is my buddy Bert from accounting.
Reasons I don’t use helms that cover face if I can avoid it
Depends on the run. I'm about to replay this for the first time in 10+ years once I get viva new vegas to work and plan on taking it seriously and going full rpg mode.
Eh semi normal. My character had black and white hair so she probably looks more like an anime character lmao
I used to go cool anime guy route before I started playing more strategic
Brygo, is that you? https://wasteland.fandom.com/wiki/Faran_Brygo
Looks like ZeroLenny
I pretty much usually use one of the defaults. Doesn't matter much since I'm going to be covering their head/face at some point
Preset characters (I'm lazy)
Normal
Normal,. And since most of my characters are women, I usually make them attractive.
Smaller hitbox?
No, I only like it on an aesthetic level.
Form > Function
I pick a pre-made and usually alter the hair and face a little.
Normal, I don't have the patience to adjust much
Normal. I dive deep into role playing and I take the story very seriously lol
Usually normal
I go with normal, like your roommate I use presets and barely change anything.
preset
I randomize but after that I make it more horrifying than it was.
Henry Zebrowski?
ridiculous
First play through is dead serious, later ones are more goofy
I try to make them as close to an actual human as my limited skills allow, I am roleplaying afterall.
I make them shrexy
I'm always female, usually 30s with black hair, brown/hazel eyes (and in FO a few scars). But this survival playthrough I am a modern 25-year old European western hunter-gatherer with darker skin and blue eyes.
Normal characters… so far.
Normal obv tf
I'll usually do something normal-ish but yeah sometimes i'll make a cave creature from The Descent
Normal mainly because I can't be bother to mess around with sliders so what does what as I just want to get into the game.
I go for regular-looking humans. The wasteland makes freaks of them by the end.
Sex : Female Preset : 1 Done
oh my god that looks scarily similar to a character i made (also i usually do a mix of both)
I see you watch Call Me Kevin.
