God I wish companions had by default infinite ammo for all weapons and not need a mod to do it. Would love to upgrade their default weapons with something better but then they run out of ammo.
Oh I definitely made it explosive and never ending 😂 the projectiles are Blue Lasers and it uses Shotgun shells as the ammo lol.

Preston was the MVP during my last playthrough when we re-took the castle. He found a minigun somewhere and straight up ventilated the Queen. I barely had to do anything
It’s just the BOS officer uniform (the black one). He casually took out The Prydwen after he noticed something was amiss on his nightly stroll, and wears the suit as a warning to any stragglers that were off the ship when it went down. His story is still unfolding.

You'd randomly see him shit stomping across the Commonwealth, and only when you find him will you have the option to accompany HIM

That why I just equip them with a sledgehammer with all sort of modifications. Doesn't need ammo and companion can't die anyway.
I think I've finally figured out what those .38 ammo conversions are for.

It is in fact, Explosive, and it also shoots blue lasers, but uses Shotgun shells as the ammo thanks to Gunsmith and ECO 😅

XD he probably took it from the museum lol or found it lying around the wasteland. Preston for real just shredding enemies.
