Welcome to the heavy club. We meet wherever there is something big to kill. PA is optional, but ideal since most of us don't use VATS. Plasma caster is something to look forward to. A great tool for doing big one shot damage to enemies, namely non-bosses.

frosty_farralon

Plasma Caster VATS shots to cripple the wings at SBQ is the hidden MVP.

Hicalibre

That's what we use cyro for.

ll_YOrch_ll

So Cryo is an optimal way to slow down the SBQ being a PA Heavy gunner? Nice to know, I've been burning cores using Ultracite Plasma Caster with V.A.T.S lmao

Hicalibre

It can literally slow her to a slug like state. Usually only need one person with it.

m1kesanders

Hey i’m usually one of those people! Fire and Ice build ftw!

Agentdeath505

I've been running enforcer with cold shoulder and she's crippled in half a mag if that lmao

pax_paradisum

Is Cold Shoulder plan still in the shop? I might have to pick it up when I get he if it's still there.

Agentdeath505

As far as I know yes its just the gun the auto axe is still there too I believe check angry turtle on YouTube im sure he made a vid about the shop reset by now.

Mikey_hor

Yea just saw it earlier today

violnetbullfrog

I'm maining shotguns currently. The first or second shot to land in vats cripples her. Enforcer procs on each pellet. At max rank, that is eight, thirty percent chances to cripple per shot. Please don't cripple her with cold shoulder... I want her to land faster so she can taste my barrel.

ITstaph

And throwing knives for resilient.

IvanCGray

Nah dawg. Single-barrel vampire's explosive pepper shaker with reload speed third star while using Enforcer, One Gun Army, Scattershot, and Lock and Load. Bonus points if you're wearing Strangler Heart PA.  You: - Literally can't die because you heal so fast. - Reloading is near instantaneous, it's just an endless flak cannon. - Have the best likelihood of crippling parts in the game. Still do okay (not great, but okay.) damage.

Kuirem

> We meet wherever there is something big to kill. You guys aren't taking down critters with your Gatling Plasma? I thought we were meeting wherever there was something to kill. And yeah I'm definitely looking forward to my plasma caster. I'm going through the main quest progressively so haven't unlocked it yet.

Hicalibre

Nah. The gatling plasma is known to glitch out when stowed and using another weapon. You can lose an entire core if you fired a few shots and stow it.

CEO_of_Bakelite

I knew the game kept taking my cores. Just didn’t know this was the reason. Does it glitch if you do a partial reload and stow?

Hicalibre

I think only if you stow without reloading. Bigger issue is if you use Power User for the laser. Since it only seems to apply to full or "overcharge" cores that haven't been reloaded.

Kuirem

Oh I didn't know, though at that point I have like 50 core from Daily Operations so it doesn't matter much. That might explain why I don't see the weapon so much, that or other heavy weapon users enjoy too much blinding everyone with the cremator. I think the obvious solution is to never stow my gatling plasma then..

Hicalibre

That can work. TBH I stopped using my gatling plasma when they removed legacy weapons. I forever miss my bloodied explosive GP.

tj1602

Well that explains some stuff that has happened to me.

NeoTr0n

I keep reloading my Gatling so I have a ton of half used cores. Hard habit to break.

Kuirem

I feel that, I also have regular accidental reload because it's the same button as "take all" on corpses. At least I'm learning to cancel with a bash lol Really wish plasma core could be merged together since they cannot be recharged like fusion.

MhrisCac

Tenderizer perk maxed out with all the heavy gun perks is nuts. I use my medic pump power armor and just eat damage from bosses so I can do 20% more damage with my bloodied prime explosive .50 cal or b/E/50DR mini gun. Absolutely melts bosses health bars, slowly though. Enough to let everybody have some fun but because I’m taking damage I’ve got another legendary perk that let’s the team do 30% more damage while I’m getting mauled, doing decent damage, and medic pumped the whole time.

RelicBeckwelf

I use both PA and VATS I burn through cores like it's cool but damn is it fun.

Th4tPurpleKid0

I run a bloodied Gatling plasma and use it as a sniper rifle. Concentrated fire on heads with 217 damage a shot is the way I take down most things. I'm satisfied with the damage agains the queen and Earl l, I can see that beautiful pink bar fill up showing me the damage I'm doing. Oddly enough i decided on this build because ultracite plasma cores are cheap AF to make when you make 12 a craft

NeoTr0n

You can also just do expeditions and dops, swapping to the Gatling for the last enemy at least. Then get a bunch each time.

Voidshape

Love my Instigating plasma caster.

PunchBeard

I bounce between Stealth-Sniper (for solo play and resource gathering) and Generic Heavy Weapon Power Armor for Events and group play. With my Hvy Weapon PA build I stopped using flame weapons because they're not very cost-efficient but I recently discovered a nice oil pit on the map and built a camp next to it. Then I got the Holy Fire as a drop. At first I was reluctant to use it since, like I said, Fuel ammo is in short supply but once I started making fuel with Super Duper, Ammo Smith and Ammo Factory I decided to see what all the hype with the Holy Fire was all about. "Holy Shit!" is more like it. That effing weapon is by far my most powerful gun and I can easily see why it's so popular with Bloodied builds. I play full-health and it's still an amazing and impressive weapon. And knowing it's also silent makes it even better.

frosty_farralon

go to flooded city center in AC outside an expedition with a slow burning Cremator- net 1000k fuel for less than 5 mins solo anytime, rinse and repeat until ammo is no longer an issue. As many other heavy players do, I run Cremator/HF as a pair and the Cremator generates ammo for the HF. I have an AA and plus to VAT accuracy Plasma Caster for range single target and an AutoAxe for melee and that load out will handle everything anywhere anytime. I only need 2 ammo types, and the PC also is super ammo efficient so I never have to craft ammo.

Slim1256

Sorry - can you elaborate on this? Do mobs just continuously respawn or something?

frosty_farralon

the cremator is 10 ammo per shot, and there are a fixed set of mobs but they all drop 25-30 ammo contextual ammo each. so you net 15-20 ammo per mob. If you happen to double up several mobs with a cremator shot you're getting even more. the slow burning DOT cremator will one-shot all of them and the explosion splashes when they're grouped up. There's a dozen ammo crates in the level at 50-100 ammo each. you will need to reset your loot after each circuit (255 burnt textbooks in the Summerville house - google this if you don't know about it yet), but combine this with Forward Station Tango by Vault 76 (another 800ish ammo in crates) with each reset and that's nearly 2k ammo for free. OPS and Expeditions are also a ton of free ammo if you loot all corpses, but this method is solo and can be done anytime and the 255 reset means you can do it over and over if needed. Most people that run Cremator/Holy Fire say they're in the 10,000s of spare fuel.

Slim1256

Got it. Yeah, I've been running solo Tax Evasions (just gets you a bunch of stuff: legendaries, XP, Stamps, Scrip/Modules, etc. And the amount of Flamer Fuel I'm accumulating is crazy. I wasn't sure if there was some sort of "endless waves" of enemies in Flooded City Center (which would seem exploit-y). Thank you for the explanation.

LostLobes

I prefer the expeditions, collecting those stamps for when they fix the union PA, as well as ammo and scrip

Slim1256

Saaaaame. Can't wait to get my hands on the Union PA.

SaggitariuttJilliumz

Instead of crafting the fuel ammo, you could also do an expedition and earn bout 1.5k fuel per run along with the expedition rewards.

DarthSnoopyFish

The flame weapons use less ammo if you tap the attack button instead of holding it down.

frosty_farralon

was in a full team for the daily op (aliens at the high school) and there was some struggle and a few deaths until I switched over to Holy Fire and just bathed the entire gym in blue flames. Everyone always at full health (Friendly Fire), I'm always at full health, aliens dying by the bucket. Every time I see a teammate, fooosh.

Slim1256

If it moves, flame it. If it dies, it wasn't friendly; if it was, it lives.

KILL__MAIM__BURN

KILL MAIM BURNNNNNN

SQLBek

I'd started off as a stealth rifleman, struggled with fuel once I got a cremator, but then when I got the Holy Fire, that changed me too. Nowadays, I'm full health, no PA, still stealthy, running HF & Cremator for events, expeditions, daily ops, and Plasma Caster for sneak sniping for regular questing. Just passed level 200 (having only started recently) and am having lots of fun!

OnTheMcFly

:sigh: I just bought plasma caster plan yesterday. ....here we go again

wg420

I only carry 2 weapons, a holy fire and plasma caster. Might pull out a cremator or something else out of stash for special occasions like eviction notice, but that's about it.

OnTheMcFly

Plasma Caster out the gate is nothing special so I was faced with the reality of building the build. The I head fuel is sparce. I'll probably end up running what you run. Mind sharing your perks?

wg420

Pretty basic [full health PA heavy gun](https://www.falloutbuilds.com/fo76/planner/#AwkBBgcIBQ0BAQEAPE8DJQN4A/ABA8QBA/0BAjsDfQGAAQMNAkQBgQICawMRAXAFmAEDCgOGAgSJAgSDAQOZAQOKAgGSAQOsAQHqAQM2AhgB1QEDJAMZAwAG5AnnCdsJ3wnoCQA=) build. just hit 300 actually, got last legendary, picked endurance and put 2 points into cards you don't get addicted to chems

OnTheMcFly

Thanks. Yah I’m only 120 so I’m still on the legendary perk grind. I’ll have to consider flamer secondary. Another issue recently, especially with prime cuts, was keeping up with ammo needs. Gatling plasma has been keeping me active but everything else has been getting gobbled up.

wg420

Ammo is why I mostly use the plasma caster, yea prime cuts was a bit rough ammo wise, the creatures don't give much back. But with the prime receiver using the ultracite ammo, no vats, bad aim, hip firing, takes 2 maybe 3 shots to kill a lvl 100 super mutant that drops 10-20 ammo. You can start with 100 ammo for the caster and 10 minutes in west tek you have 1000. flamer fuel needs some effort, last night I was down to about 3000 and joined a random expeditions team, we must have run most sensational game 10 times, averaging 6 - 8 minutes and I had over 20,000 flamer fuel when finished.

BronanTheBrobarian7

Hey there fellow heavy user. I've been a heavy main ever since I got my first Gatling laser at level 30. Nowadays I've been running around with a literal A-10 warthog minigun that has a fire rate comparable to a Phalanx and explodes on impact. I know the minigun isn't as effect as other heavy guns, but nothing really beats going brrrrrrrt and watching everything in a 3 mile radius turn into pink mist.

terminalzero

meh damage is the price you pay for how fun the minigun is I should really switch back to ballistic for a while, I've been stuck on energy until I could clear out some fusion cores and I finally sold like 50 last night

Magneeto86

I just got mine a few days ago. Was server hopping for a Flamer mod for an Enclave pistol, and the event popped up and I say why not. I only knew that event dropped it thanks to a West Tek video from YouTube. Ran that event, It dropped & I’ve been wanting to run fire builds ever since

tj1602

I just started using the cremator and decided to actually do expeditions. I tried before when I first unlocked expeditions and that was a bad idea on my part. I didn't realize it was going to be that powerful of a weapon, even after looking at the stats. Granted my cremator has the increased damage from aiming and gourmand legendary mods. Many expedition mobs died from the initial blast. Those that didn't, died two seconds later from the dot. Bosses lasted a little longer but still felt very easy.

ozmthole

What makes the Holy Fire so good? I see it brought up pretty frequently and I'm interested.

Master_Exponet

What makes it good?? Holy fire, a weapon of immense power, stands as a beacon of purification and healing. Its cleansing flames purge impurities, offering solace to those who seek its comforting embrace. Silent as a whisper yet warm as a hearth, may its radiant glow shower upon you all an abundance of love and blessings. Essentially while you bathe your enemies in fire it heals you, with the right perk it heals your allies, including NPCs and it shits out damage like a bonfire after taking heavy laxatives. Not only that but it's silenced meaning you can slap on your stealth suit and BBQ your enemies without them even knowing they were on the menu.

StopTheEarthLetMeOff

Luckily there is always the LMG for you to enjoy a commando playstyle using heavy perks, if you ever want a quick taste of the old life.

Azara_Nightsong

You can also put friendly fire on and become a super healer for allies and friendly ncps during events with it.

WestCoastBuckeye666

There’s a lot of very powerful builds I use primed Gatling plasma and a automatic quad railway My wife uses a primed semi auto bloodied railway (2k crits) My daughter cracks my up one shotting everything with a bloodied unyielding unarmed with like 70 strength buffed

Luth0r

I love this. I'd love to have a family all playing a game like this. Must be just a ton of fun for you all.

drewsteakhouse

Bloodied HF is my go to for everything now

ApollosArrow48

You can reroll the HF?? Does it keep the original perks or does it completely get rid of them

LostLobes

It losses them but keeps the hidden

drewsteakhouse

Loses the normal 3stars but retains "cursed weapon" stats. 15% damage -4 durability and the like

ApollosArrow48

Thanks man

Extreme-Account-8535

By fire be purged!

kane2200

I hate my holy fire and I’m desperately trying to get back to shotguns on my main

Kcole7

The games got too easy since getting the holy fire do you not find the same 😂

Master_Exponet

It is alot easier, we'll until they put reflective enemies in the daily op. Hate that mutation.

Kcole7

Omg I done that I didn’t read the mutation 😂. You realised how strong the gun is when it’s reflected back in your face

ChaseTheFuzzball

Enclave here, why isn't your flamer working?

ophaus

Not to mention that it can heal NPCs and other players. It's my go-to weapon for big events!

ArtisanG

Had a very similar experience, it's definitely my go to. Weapon and I started off thinking this character would be a commando. Now it's holy fire and expedition farming for ammo

Darth-Meph

I am a level 65 newbie that is obsessed with PA. I keep hearing about this amazing “Holy Fire”, where is this beautiful weapon found? It sounds like a blessing given by the god emperor.

Monkey77777778

You get it from the event where you have to put explosives on the doors, then load up the Brahmin, then fight the ogua.

Monkey77777778

Beasts of burden

icecubepal

What is special about Holy Fire?

Master_Exponet

It is a Cursed weapon found from the beast of burden event as a random reward. Cursed means it has a flat 15% damage increase over normal flamers, it is also 25% faster and has better durability. Oh but that's not all. It's not some run of the mill flamer you can craft cause you got 30 flamer blueprints from meat week. No. This bad boy also has the vampire effect which heals you everytime your beautiful flame blesses an enemy to go and meet their lord. Now you're thinking "Damn this is a cool flamer I want one" but hold on, cause I'm not done. This already amazing instrument of death has one more bonus. The flame has a much higher range than any other flamer weapon, and the fire is a blessed blue that will blind all of the poor stealthed commandos just as the lord intended. TLDR: Heals on hit, increased damage, speed, and range. Blue fire. Event: beasts of burden.

icecubepal

lol thanks. I have it but never really used it

gardyjuland

I accidently donated mine.

Crimsonfukr83

I've been trying to get it, but the event that drops it seems to never pop up

-lxlKHARMAlxl-

Bro this is crazy... I just had this happened to me. Fixer bloodied commando build. Nasty damage. And then I found out about Holy Fire. Cant go back.

Opposite_Camera7641

The holy fire is silent????

Master_Exponet

It sure is. Throw on a stealth suit and give it a go. It's so insanely fun. I am a shadow until shit hits the fan and then a pop over into my power armor and am damn close to being immortal. The flame of our lord shall be felt and not seen or heard.

DiscoTomato

Show me da wey. I am stealth, I have le cleansing fire. Teach me o light of shadow

Master_Exponet

First you must attend the beasts of burden public event. If successful the lords weapon may be found amongst the cultists stockpile. If you have the weapon then know it is already as silent as death itself. Simply up your agility and invest in heavy and stealth perks. It will be just as effective as a silenced fixer and not only that but it will heal you and heal allies (for allies you need a perk called friendly fire) your enemies will only ever feel the warmth of your blue fire but shall never gaze upon the missionary nor hear them.

DiscoTomato

I have had the weapon already bestowed on me and I have communed with the cards. Thank you great warm wise one.

ShadowTheChangeling

Welcome brother, the blue fire welcomes all

Satiricalistic

Love cleaning the wasteland with a flamer

MhrisCac

I was running a prime bloodied .50 cal with a god roll. But that holy fire is just… one tap and it melts the enemy. I’m running a mutated/ +25 aim damage/+50 damage resist while aiming Holy fire rn. The damage is insane, I fear the day I get the bloodied roll on it because I know I’ll rarely touch my other guns.

timepassfaltu

Love the weapon - dont know how to get ammo for it just yet.

Master_Exponet

Expeditions and daily ops are my go to

Laser_3

Make sure you grab a cremator and the hellfire skin the next time Minerva has it in stock.

Hammleth

I like it, both that and the Cremator literally melt stuff without any perks. Still running Mando, but I'm on the fence to switch to heavy gunner.

Master_Exponet

I feed it with the shock and terror of my enemies and prayers to the mothman. But for real the best way I have found is expeditions and then daily op uplink. Both give you a ton of ammo. You can also craft it with the ammo factory perk and that helps alot too but I usually don't want to use up that much of my oil and just farm expeditions. I try not to fall below 2000 fuel.
