Flux is a rare commodity in player's vendors, and when sold may fetch eye watering prices. Your current stock is probably earned through finishing Collosal Problem or Scorched Earth. You should consider just launching a nuke in an appropriate area where flux you seek spawns and just harvest it. Might take a couple launches due to irregular spawns, but you'll get it after all. And faster than server hopping and skimming through player's vendors, I think. EDIT Don't forget to put on Green Thumb perk card before venturing for flux, makes that job easier

Hmmm I only remember trying to venture in a nuked zone one time to fight a boss and not being able to survive without a hazmat suit and we didn’t kill the boss. I don’t think I’m ready for venturing into nuked zones yet but maybe I am with the hazmat suit. I just went to one and didn’t find violet anywhere so I think I’ll just look into how to farm it. I thought maybe there it was the new bosses it came from because they spawn when someone nukes that area but it’s never radiating the whole area but I go to that when I see it.

Power Armor is really helpful in this case. Add Radx and you're fine

As several others have commented, the pure flux you currently have must have been part of your rewards for participating in events. Neither pure flux, nor any of the components used to craft it, can be purchased from NPC vendors (unless a player has recently sold some to them, in which case they might have a little bit of it in their inventory). Flux and its crafting components can be sold/ traded between players, so if you need some in a hurry the best way to find it is by hopping player vendors until you find someone selling it at a reasonable price. Make sure to stash all of your junk before you go, and be very careful when you approach player vendors because a small handful of people will use pure flux as bait for trap camps.... game considers it junk, you drop it when you die. If you want to craft it yourself, you will need four crafting components: raw flux, hardened mass, glowing mass, and high radiation fluids. All four materials can only be gathered in nuke zones. Raw flux is harvested from irradiated plants; the other three components are looted from enemies you kill. The catch here Is that raw flux deteriorates rapidly, and after a relatively short time in your inventory will turn into inert flux, which is useless. So it's highly recommended to gather the other three ingredients first - which will take more than one scavenging trip through a nuke zone. If you're in a hurry for flux, you'll want to spend a few playing sessions going into every nuke zone you can find and killing as many enemies as you can. Then, when you've got your stockpile built up, start jumping into nuke zones and gathering from plants. As soon as you've cleared an area, you want to immediately go back to camp and craft the stable flux.

This made me a very clear path to follow as a newbie, thank you much!

Sentinel_Renar

Since you don't know where you got it, odds are you got some from one of the Nuke bosses. I believe all of them award a random assortment of flux.

icei0

Would the new bosses drop it maybe because I’ve been attending those regularly

Sentinel_Renar

You mean the 3 robots? I believe so. Even though there isn't a nuke area on the map, that fight is started by dropping a nuke anywhere in the new region, so it qualifies as one.

icei0

Yes I do, thank you!

1. Go to blast zones with a radiation suit (anything with 1000 rad resist, but the stealth armor is best since it offers some protection and the ability to sneak). 2. Kill irradiated enemies to collect masses/fluids (check how many you need of each before heading out). 3. Collect the nuked flora you need (Google for all the potential types and know what flowers to look for). 4. Equipping green thumb and/or good with salt perks can be useful. (There are limited collection spots in an area and raw flux will turn inert when it "rots". This gives you twice as much and makes it spoil slower). 5. Go to chemist bench under "nuked flora" to craft stable flux. (Super Duper perk recommended for extra bonus flux). Note: Don't carry stable flux on you, ever. If you have some, stash it. It counts as junk and will drop if you die. Note: Inert flux (leftovers that have rotted) turn into "water" under Aid. So if you lose some or don't use it all, it hasn't disappeared, it's just under a different name/tab and can't be stabilized any longer.

icei0

Thanks for this! Guess I spent the bullion on the wrong armor, should have gotten the Chinese stealth armor first to farm for the jet pack.

ricozee

No, you did the right thing. You can get the stealth armor through the story if you make the right choice. Maybe you aren't there yet so I won't spoil. A hazmat suit works as well, the stealth suit is simply better. (You can do it with meds and power armor that give enough radiation protection as well, but I don't use those).

Interesting-Trash-51

As a fellow dude-whos-never-nuked, I get all mine from sbq, titan, and the robots.

icei0

lol I even had to google what sbq meant. I think that’s the only boss I’ve tried to join. I’ll be keeping an eye out for titan because I don’t think I’ve ever seen that happening and I’ll continue to kill the robots trio everytime I see them.

Anotherday4500

Bring a melee to titan as well.

Interesting-Trash-51

Gun bash can break the crystals c;

SteevoAtreides

I see stable flux in shops for 100 caps and lower. That's probably what I would sell it for.

Blitzindamorning

You can get a ton of flux from nuking the Cranberry Bog south of Watoga. Use the Green Thumb perk, and when you craft stable flux use the Super Duper perk. Just did it today for my Union PA calibrated shocks.

Advanced-Row6657

Are you on PS?

icei0

Xbox

Advanced-Row6657

Oww.. too bad I'm not on Xbox. I have flux in my vendor, selling for cheap.

icei0

Additional question: Where is flux even listed in inventory? When I try to mod it says I have some but I can’t find what section of inventory or storage type it’s in.

gorobotkillkill

It's under junk.

Skippy280

If you have a scrap box, look there

icei0

That’s exactly where it is! I really thought that it must have been something I stashed thinking it was probably important and I may need because I’d never seen anything need it before. Thank you!

donmongoose

You can google how to make flux, there's plenty of guides out there. People do sell stable/pure flux, but not that often and usually not that cheap. They also may sell some of the non-perishable components, but that still requires you to get the fauna.

Dry_Independent4078

Did you Google those flux before asking? Sorry, that's a dumb question, obviously you haven't. Because if you had, you would have gotten maps showing you where to nuke.

icei0

I sure did and I’ve never nuked anything so finding out I had flux without doing any of that made google even more confusing and frustrating to try to sift through. But thanks for trying to publicly shame someone for asking for help.

Dry_Independent4078

You did Google? So you have the maps of where to nuke... no you didn't. You're asking where you got the flux you currently have? RNG gave you that after participating in a world boss event. I'm telling you to Google "______ Flux" so you'll get a map of where to farm it. So you can actually craft it yourself, and not rely on RNG.
