I know! Every meal is like a buffet, hoping he’ll like one of the foods we’ve prepared. I just don’t get why paint or playdoh or pretend vegetables look so much more appetizing to him than real food 🥲
My wild theory is ultra saturated and consistent colors are more appealing than food, which is usually less saturated and less consistent (like the char on broccoli is delicious but it’s two whole colors)
I have no evidence to back this up besides personal observation.
Yes, but also the char on broccoli is delicious *to adults*. To babies it just tastes bitter and burnt and every neuron in their brains at that developmental stage is telling them "Bitter means poison! Abort mission! Do not eat!" It's one of those weird things about how our tastes change as we grow!
Someone posted a banana rolled up in crushed cheerios and let me tell ya, it was delicious. I ended up using honey nut cheerios. 10/10, would eat again lol
Hehe thanks :) It was a huge success too. He started with small unsure licks off the brush to wanting to use a spoon to wanting me to feed him with a spoon, which he’s almost never okay with. Might try it with hummus next, which I’ve never had any luck with before.
lol i love this! the things we have to do to get our kids to eat 😵💫no one warned me!!!
