There are no groups of death nowadays because of seeding. Same in the euros this summer. Spain, Italy, Croatia and Albania are in the same group, but it is very likely that the top 3 teams will qualify, so it's a group of slight inconvenience rather than a group of death

There’s definitely still groups of death. Just this season you had; PSG, Dortmund, Newcastle and AC Milan all in the one group.
