I've tried every dumb strat I could think of but this may work just need to get a complete forward as I've never had one,might try target man or defensive forward.

Yeah the CF is just a luxury really - he was a freak cheap wonder kid newgen I managed to get from Mexico and his physicals were all 14+. A pressing forward would probably work pretty well and, like I said, target man and DLF(A) both worked.

Right, I'm at Chieti FC in Serie A (start in Serie D) and I'll try this away at Napoli. This is a game I'm supposed to lose heavily. Let's see what happens.
3-1 loss, which is pretty much par for the course for the two teams' quality
xG 3.06 - 0.92
Definitely needs some tweaks, it invited a lot of pressure and we lost the possession battle despite the tactic being designed to play keep-ball. They were playing 4-4-2 as well.
It would depend on opponent and situation, but honestly mostly stay the same. Until the last 10-15 mins or so, then: goal up - take the mentality down a notch and start to time waste. Goal down and wanting to score? Honestly just change tactic 😂

I've signed him in 3 different club saves and he's been a beast in all of them. In year 6 of my Schalke save right now and he's the best I've ever seen him, won German player of the year 3 years in a row and the year before those he was golden boy. Absolutely insane
Halseth-Nypan is amazing. He led my team basically in my Derby save. I desperately tried to get him in my Schalke save but he wouldn't join. Now he's Dortmund's best player with a 102mil release clause and I keep eyeing him even though he's not really better than my current DLP

I've taken Metalurh Zp to the top of the Ukranian Premier. I've drawn Real Madrid in the Champions quarter final for the second year running. Second leg at home upcoming and somehow 1 goal up on them. I'm definitely deploying this. Pray for me!
I'm glad to hear you've had some success with this, I always try direct, high-tempo counter attacking in my 5ATB formations when we're playing a bigger side. I usually stay in the match but don't get results (lots of 0-2 and 1-2 losses).
To me this looks like the way the game explains the Catennaccio preset tactic? Especially the "Hold Shape" and "Regroup" instructions for transitional play.
Yeah I didn't realise at the time that I created something so close to Catenaccio - creating a tactic was different then - the last image is just how I would try it in the current FM, and I used Catenaccio as a starting point, but I don't know if it'll work and think it will need tweaking.
It works well at holding on to a lead, which is basically what Catenaccio was created for I think...
Yeah I honestly don't know if it will actually work, especially considering the meta the last few years, but it did in past versions with a few tweaks. Probably would have to change to a mid block and standard backline nowadays to make it not just totally useless 🤷♂️
