I think they would learn from OW2 fiasco and just say "We're working on it, don't know when yet (not anytime soon)but everything will be transferable, and you may get some bonuses. So just keep playing FH1!"
Or they will advertise it like a massive update like FF14: ARR which feels like a very different game than launch
At least FH1 had a story mode!
______
Though it would be interesting if FH2 did have one well it looks at Holden Cross's adventures around the world...
And just looks at the Wu Lin and says "Yep, that's enough for me"
I don’t think it’s a sequel, but because they are ramping up contents and production for the game this year so they want to bring in as much people as possible.
Check the year 8 reveal video. They are doing more hero skins than before, bringing back old battle passes that will run concurrently with the current battle passes etc. they are doing more this year than they ever did before.
Either something akin to a sequel, or a big revamp to the game.
Any time a game releases past content that was normally time locked they are in the process of "wrapping up". But I don't think they are done with For Honor yet. Not with the marketing they are pushing.
I feel that they have been pushing more TG's that fix gameplay elements (hitstun changes/gank changes), figuring out what works, getting the game in the right spot.
My working theory is that this is all for a future project. Maybe not a full on sequel, but a "revival" of the game.
I appreciate the increased efforts being put into the game. We started getting CGIs with new heroes, increased and higher quality unique content, and now what seems to be a trailer to revitalize the series.
I said this before as a controversial opinion, but the new devs feel like they understand the game better than the old devs and it shows in how after 8 years, we seem to actually be increasing in budget and such from the middle years.
A lot of the project leads have moved on to other projects, along with community managers and whatnot.
But yeah, I'm pretty sure our base devs haven't changed.
I can honestly only think of three devs still there that have been there since launch. Though two of them are crucial members of the hero design team, I don't think they'd still be working on For Honor if Ubisoft had already greenlit For Honor 2.
They made a 1v1v1 mode and have released 0 new dominion maps for YEARS - despite dominion being their self admitted "main gamemode"
The devs are morons
Not universally, even then only on Reddit. I’ve seen people complain about how plays treat it like a 1v1 (honortards) instead of a team fight. Honestly if they decide to make it a permanent game mode it’ll either die or will have the same problem that brawls has, people thinking it’s two separate 1v1’s.
Ah, I don’t watch for honor YouTubers that do it as daily content. I only watch “informational” ones if even (mainly freeze and occasional blits rant).
What? By who? It's a terrible mode where the guy who plays the least usually wins lol. It's gonna be dead in 3 months, like every other mode the devs have tried (instead of developing dominion - the most popular game mode. The main game mode.)
Them mentioning it may be referencing they might re-release again soon.
The assassin's creed event especially had some good event weapons hope it comes back sometime.
It makes sense, For Honor one of Ubi's most successful (slowburn) IPs when it comes to the live service model. Wonder if this means Ubi will give the game a bigger team so we can tackle more maps, heroes, and armor sets in the future.
Just came back to FH after taking a couple years off and I'm pleasantly surprised with Y8S1 so far. This modest marketing push is reassuring and I hope they keep it up!
Still a flawed, but ultimately one of a kind & amazing game to me. Has been since I first got into the technical alpha many years ago now. Really hope there's either a full on sequel, or at least a fully-budgeted relaunch in its future.
I audibly yelled "THAT IS BREACH" when they said Elimination over a Breach intro 😭
Always good to breathe new life into the game! And thanks to Legacy Passes, it truly is the best time to get into the game
I'm so happy the game is getting a "rebrand" of sorts
BUT MAN
they need to not advertise the story mode. It's very dated and does not represent the actual speed and moves of all the heroes
I think it's kind of cool how it's a sort of time capsule of how so many base game heroes played at launch. I still give it a whirl every now and then when I get nostalgic. But I do think they should update it, or at least put in a disclaimer that story mode movesets are not representative of the ever-changing multiplayer combat balance.
“Clever uses of the feats”
-uses tier 4 on minions
Either way I’m SOOO happy that they are starting to advertise more. I want this game to grow and grow and grow. I’ve loved it since it first came out and has only gotten better
Oh don’t worry you’ll come back it may not be today It may not be tomorrow. It may not be next week It may not be next month Hell It may not even be next year but you’ll come back they always do
For honor is a game that’s basically a relic and has more problems than player base. Rather than fixing the problems, they just make slightly more content which creates more problems and makes the game worse. And yet I still play it 🙃😢
Me thinks they are pushing advertising to bring FH into the spotlight for... "Future announcements" ;)
What are you hoping for?
If I had to guess, For Honor 2 Considering this game is at Year 8/10, if they were gonna announce it it would be around this time
I'm not sure they would announce a second game three years before release. That's if For Honor does indeed last for another three whole years.
I think they would learn from OW2 fiasco and just say "We're working on it, don't know when yet (not anytime soon)but everything will be transferable, and you may get some bonuses. So just keep playing FH1!" Or they will advertise it like a massive update like FF14: ARR which feels like a very different game than launch
We're adding a story mode Then delete it in fh2
At least FH1 had a story mode! ______ Though it would be interesting if FH2 did have one well it looks at Holden Cross's adventures around the world... And just looks at the Wu Lin and says "Yep, that's enough for me"

>but because they are ramping up contents and production for the game this year Thinking of coming back again, where can I find this info?
Check the year 8 reveal video. They are doing more hero skins than before, bringing back old battle passes that will run concurrently with the current battle passes etc. they are doing more this year than they ever did before.

But haven't they been re-running old events for years now?
True, but I feel like that's different to re running old battle passes.
Makes me wanna play lol.
For real, literally just played and now I wanna get back on.
Picked the game back up after a year and a half and I’m having a good time. You might even say I’m having ‘fun’
I appreciate the increased efforts being put into the game. We started getting CGIs with new heroes, increased and higher quality unique content, and now what seems to be a trailer to revitalize the series. As much shit as I'll give this game/the devs, I'm glad they're trying to give the game an almost second start
The old devs are still there?
A lot of the project leads have moved on to other projects, along with community managers and whatnot. But yeah, I'm pretty sure our base devs haven't changed.

Glad Roman is gone. He worked on the dead space remake. He had terrible balance ideas. Mr "lawbringer is fine you just dont know how to use him"
Wasnt he was also in charge of the peer to peer pvp system that resulted in the underwhelming launch of the game?
Think so. He used to be game director, I believe, so I wouldn't be surprised.
Know someone at ubi who says rainbow six siege and for honor are atm ubi's most profitable/succesful games. At least long term.
They made a 1v1v1 mode and have released 0 new dominion maps for YEARS - despite dominion being their self admitted "main gamemode" The devs are morons
Isn't the 1v1v1 mode universally lauded as peak for honor?
Not universally, even then only on Reddit. I’ve seen people complain about how plays treat it like a 1v1 (honortards) instead of a team fight. Just about every youtuber as well shares the opinion.

Would be great if they rereleased all the old event content that they showed in the trailer
Them mentioning it may be referencing they might re-release again soon. The assassin's creed event especially had some good event weapons hope it comes back sometime.
The AC event definitely needs to come back, it's the most packed full event, it has a ton of lootable event rewards.
Your comment was triple posted, just a heads up
it was so real it needed to be said 3 times
I just want the Prince of Persia event back, the weapons were so godamn gorgeous.
It makes sense, For Honor one of Ubi's most successful (slowburn) IPs when it comes to the live service model. Wonder if this means Ubi will give the game a bigger team so we can tackle more maps, heroes, and armor sets in the future.
Me: Fuck for honor For honor: **black prior flip** Me: I forgive you for nohor

Guys, what is For Honor?
I don't know, all I can tell you is *I DEFINITELY GODDAMN PARRIED THAT!!!*
I audibly yelled "THAT IS BREACH" when they said Elimination over a Breach intro 😭 Always good to breathe new life into the game! And thanks to Legacy Passes, it truly is the best time to get into the game

I disagree, the story mode adds a lot of value to the game in and of itself even if it plays differently than the multiplayer.
yeaaaaa! marketting refresh! It's a new era for the game and it's looking good!
>bring new players in Hahaha!!!!
With how neglected title had been over the past years, question probably came unironically from some Ubi executive.
Goosebumps!
Ouuuu the throwback event is AC
Oh boy I'm excited for "For the Creed" throwback event
Whoever their trailer guy is, is really good at what they do.
I love this game so fucking much man…
Its been 8 years but we finally have an answer as to what this game is.
Marketing!
Does this mean For Honor Might go Free 2 play again like in 2019?
“Clever uses of the feats” -uses tier 4 on minions Either way I’m SOOO happy that they are starting to advertise more. I want this game to grow and grow and grow. I’ve loved it since it first came out and has only gotten better
FUCK YOU UBISOFT I AINT GOING BACK
Oh don’t worry you’ll come back it may not be today It may not be tomorrow. It may not be next week It may not be next month Hell It may not even be next year but you’ll come back they always do
Hell nah I ain’t going back! You can’t drag me back Ubisoft!
Too late I’m in your walls
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I already removed the uninstall button, you are coming back no matter what. In fact I've already deleted all the other games in your Steam library.
Before marketing to new players they should fix their que times THEN bring them in
For honor is a hot mess. But its OUR hot mess
Curious they didn't mention breach by name at all
All of that and failed to even mention the central game mechanic
90% breach footage, doesnt mention it at all.
What is For Honor? A pain in my arse.
For honor is a game that’s basically a relic and has more problems than player base. Rather than fixing the problems, they just make slightly more content which creates more problems and makes the game worse. And yet I still play it 🙃😢
For honor is shit and i hate it
same time next match?
First 10 seconds trailer lies, says this game is rewarding 😭
