Meaning they wrote some copy for you to transcribe in your own hand? Or you sent them pages from your own notebooks?
Beautiful hand; thank you for your share today!
What I like about Jade is that her Handwriting is not fluffy, not full of rolls and stuff it is just normal hand writing from someone who loves fountain pens. Kudos to you!
Wow. That is so cool. If anyone saw my writing it would end up in something like this...

Have to say when I saw it on the show last night my first thought was that writing could be from someone on this sub just to find this today... such a nice surprise. Small world!
Congratulations!
Beautiful penmanship, beautiful ink, and for once when I'll see the show I will not spend a lot of time wondering which pen/ink.
I am so happy for you, first Netflix then Hollywood. :-)
Simply beautiful, I haven't watched the film yet but this is something to look forward to. I used fountain pens during my school days (approaching 50 now) and would have people ask me to re-do their homework in calligraphy as I was into it back then. Still have a pilot light for this kind of stuff but penmanship in every day life seems to be diminishing. Would love to see your work on Instagram
I recently had the pleasure of browsing through your Instagram page, and I must say, your posts are some of the most delightful things I've encountered in quite a while. As someone just embarking on this journey, I'm curiousāwhere would you suggest a beginner like me should start in order to possibly achieve handwriting as exquisite as yours someday? Also, I couldn't quite catch the reference behind your Instagram username. Would you mind sharing the story behind it?
Thank you so much for your time and for sharing your art with the world!
Thank you so much for the kind words! I would suggest finding a style of writing that you like and starting to copy it. Itāll feel foreign at first, but youāll get used to it and even add your own touches to it overtime. If it feels challenging to do that on regular paper, try French ruled paper. There are workbooks out there, though I donāt think theyāre necessary. I didnāt use them myself. Lastly, be patient. It takes time, but will be worth it.
As for my username, itās a play on the word āpanopticon.ā This is a concept introduced by philosopher Jeremy Bentham to describe a circular prison structure with a guard tower in the middle that makes the inmates feel like theyāre always being watched. Itās also a theory term made prominent by another philosopher, Michel Foucault, as a metaphor for modern surveillance and disciplinary society. I studied philosophy and love Foucault, so I decided to adopt the term :)
Thank you for the advice and sharing the story behind your username! Iām inspired to start practicing with a style I admire and will remember to be patient. The concept of the panopticon and its influence on your username is truly fascinatingāI love how it reflects your passion for philosophy!
Congrats! I can guarantee my handwriting will never end up on this show except perhaps as a counter example or maybe why schools stopped teaching cursive!
Just seeing this today.
This is impressive, and a great complement to you. I do hope you received some kind of compensation for this. Possibly, in the near future, they can use your *actual hand* writing something! (More money for you, I hope!) :-)
Just wondering what style you use and how long did it take you to learn, if you did not learn in school? Thank you for posting. Take care and stay safe.
That is seriously cool. I never really thought about it but somebody does have to write every word in every book they use one every show. Now we know where it comes from.
I followed you, great content!! Congratulations on your film career. Remember to add it to your resume in some way because your work appeared on that series or movie or whatever it was ( I donāt watch stuff much ). Congrats!!!!
Neat! although they normally use the on-set unionized artists for these type of props - I'm a little š¤ at them not doing that, since the entry barrier for the artist unions are high enough that they should be able to fake pretty much any handwriting. My older brother's been doing prop work like this for over twenty years for TV and Movie sets.
Did they contact you during the SAG strike?
Maybe you just had the perfect handwriting, then!! Sometimes you do just stumble onto the right thing. There's a whole sub-section of set dressing that is solely about renting "just the right" paintings from their owners for a day so they can be used on sets š that's super neat, and I'm very very glad they paid you!
Wow. That is so cool. If anyone saw my writing it would end up in something like this...

Cool! I hope to see you on TV at the Emmys. And the award for "Best Handwriting" goes to....

Is the ink Pilot Iroshizuku Kon-Peki?
Yes!
Kon-peki is staggeringly beautiful, but your handwriting makes it so
Damn! You could tell the name of the ink? That's impressive sir.
Yes very peki :)
It's luck, I think that any gorgeous blue ink *must* be kon-peki and I just don't tell anyone when I guess wrong
It's my favorite ink, I recognized it by both the color and the shading properties. š»
I agree, even using the best ink in the world, I couldn't produce Ā the same. Congrats!Ā
Thatās a nice ink. And despite being a classic, is still one of my favourites.
Thank you for sharing not only your beautiful handwriting but mostly your inner thoughts. It's always nice to read someone else with similar ideas.
Stunning. But 15:55pm? Is the character fond of redundancy?
Misread that line as "neptunes of love returned" š
Love Kon-Peki, which fountain pen and nice did you use?
That's AMAZING!! Both your handwriting and the experience!!
That is so incredibly cool!
Why does it all lean so heavily to the right?
So *that's* how they get their pages filled eh? Congrratulations.
Did they ask for words or did you give them the lorem ipsum?
11 pages of script. I just posted a scan of this page in a comment!
Meaning they wrote some copy for you to transcribe in your own hand? Or you sent them pages from your own notebooks? Beautiful hand; thank you for your share today!
They gave me a script to transcribe. I wrote it down on loose leaf paper, and they bound it into a notebook :)
I'd be shitting my pants while writing all of that out! How many pages did you have to start over?
They told me itās fine to cross out mistakes for all but one page, which is supposed to be important somehow?
Perhaps a hero page which will be used for closeups.
Ah yes thatās what they called it!
So you know the names of the twelve lords?
;)
Nah, just fuckin' with her. :D
Oh that's a fun new use of the term _hero_ to learn. Thank you word friend!
Short for [hero prop](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prop#Hero). Or at least that's where I think it's from anyway.
Thank you!
Did you get paid for this? I hope so, you deserve something.
That's a hilarious idea. Now I want to "swatch" my inks with lorem ipsum.
How cool is that!
My thoughts exactly!
Whatās your IG username thing? Iād love to see your work
It's @ pen.opticon :)
that is SUCH a great username
Haha thanks! I'm always psyched when people get the reference.
This is incredibly cool. And your insta is so aesthetically pleasing. I just followed you, so the random knitter that just followed you is me LOL
Haha thank you!
Ah! Thatās you? Iāve been following your IG for a while now. How cool!!
You're frequently suggested to me on the IG algorithm š
Loved to know that I was already following š
And this is how /r/fountainpens/ begins to take over the world. Congrats!
What I like about Jade is that her Handwriting is not fluffy, not full of rolls and stuff it is just normal hand writing from someone who loves fountain pens. Kudos to you!
Thank you :)

I think I could write a mean doctors noteā¦ (I wouldnāt know what to write, but nobody would be able to read it anyway)
Whoa thatās awesome and I hope they paid you!
They did haha. Not much, but this is one of those cases where the exposure is worth it ;)
Donāt say that too loud or r/choosingbeggars will have a stroke. But am super stoked for you!
Did you get a credit for "Swell Penmanship?"
That is amazing! And so is your handwriting!
Very cool! I like your IG account. Which pen did you select to accomplish this task?!
Thanks! I wrote with a vintage Montblanc 146!
I have one of those too! Excellent choice!
Wow! Congratulations. You must feel over the moon with this! I applaud you!!!
Have to say when I saw it on the show last night my first thought was that writing could be from someone on this sub just to find this today... such a nice surprise. Small world!
You get an A+ and 47 gold stars for your penmanship. Beautiful work.
Congratulations! Beautiful penmanship, beautiful ink, and for once when I'll see the show I will not spend a lot of time wondering which pen/ink. I am so happy for you, first Netflix then Hollywood. :-)
Thank you!
Thatās TN, right?
Do you mean Traveler's Notebook? If yes, that's not it. I sent them the writing sample on loose sheets, and they bound it into a notebook.
Curiousā¦ Did they ask for a certain ink or leave that up to you? Did you use water resistant ink?
They asked for an ink I used in a particular photo. It was kon-peki :)
Nice! That color definitely pops off the page!
oh, I see. What paper size was it?
Simply beautiful, I haven't watched the film yet but this is something to look forward to. That's amazing! And your writing is beautiful!
Congrats! Comparing your perfect penmanship with my chicken scratching, I might as well go back to pencil and math paper.
But did you get paid? How much?! So curious.
Literally just watching this series!
That is seriously cool. I never really thought about it but somebody does have to write every word in every book they use one every show. Now we know where it comes from.
Nice
Did they pay a fee?
This is so freaking cool! Go you!! I'm so happy for you?

Congrats! That's great! I'm just curious though: did they pay you? And if so are you allowed to give us a ballpark estimate of how much?
This is awesome, not a lot of people can say their handwriting was on tv :)
Beautiful handwriting! Love Kon Peki!
This is awesome!! For this project, did you use unlined paper? Or pencil lines that were erased?
That's so cool! Your handwriting is beautiful by the way!
That's so cool. Congratulations on having your talent and work recognised this way!
Neat! although they normally use the on-set unionized artists for these type of props - I'm a little š¤ at them not doing that, since the entry barrier for the artist unions are high enough that they should be able to fake pretty much any handwriting.
