Please get a god-damned Uber.

Warm_Flamingo_2438

Some public transportation that runs after 10 p.m. might be a good investment.

Iminicus

And some multi use development. Imagine being able to leave your place and be at a nice bar or eatery within 2-3 minutes walking. You can drink and enjoy a nice meal and then just walk home again.

MillertonCrew

Yea, Fresno really fucked that up. They need more off street bike paths too. I love leaving from my friends house on Willow and Shepherd and riding the bike path to Crow and Wolf.

Iminicus

Just a shame that Crow and Wolf is in what looks like an industrial park. Imagine if that was surrounded by housing and shops and other interesting places.

passionatelatino

get out of here with your common sense

KTKittentoes

And they said we were number 1! We're all the way down there in 35. Note:Drunk driving is wicked. I hate booze anyway. I'm just sarcasming because we usually top the list, and it's tiresome.

Kajimusprime

I think we're number one for drunk drivers. Just number 35 for drunk driving fatalities.

AverySmooth80

I have a perfect driving record. 4 DUIs and not a single fatality!

TheJuiceMan_

This is the Fresno subreddit

psycharious

It's funny because I [read somewhere else](https://www.heidarilawgroup.com/blog/best-and-worst-cities-for-driving-california/) that Fresno was one of the safest to drive. I'm pretty skeptical because EVERY day some Honda, Dodge Ram, or Ford Mustang is racing through traffic, nearly running people off the road.

DontPutThatDownThere

You forgot the Dodge Avengers and, very recently, Kias of any model.

Comfortable_Dog2429

and you can’t leave out the nissan altimas

DontPutThatDownThere

And the luxury cars and the compact SUVs and...

Comfortable_Dog2429

and the ones with four wheels and also two wheels

PB0034

Never seen an Altima that knew how to drive.

Comfortable_Dog2429

90% over year old have some sort of body or at least rim damage

lostinrecovery22

This wouldn’t exist if GM didn’t rip out the Trolley lines that covered our cities to sell more cars

420xGoku

I'd be drubk all the time if I lived in San Bernardino, too

PQ1206

Central valley is well represented on this graph.

Wooden_Cold_8084

I'm surprised Wisconsin isn't higher That said, WTF CA?

Cheap_Gas_965

Yay! We made the list. Smh

ChefGuzzy91

And I get downvoted in another thread for saying we have the worst drivers. Here’s actually proof.

mac2def

Let me start by saying this im against drunk driving....I remember growing up Jerry Dyer (police chief) at the time now mayor had check points all over the city every weekend way before uber/lyft, a text would go around telling us young adults at the time which areas to avoid due to check points.... talk about altering your life having a DUI on your record....when I moved to the bay area I haven't seen a check point since, and let's not talk about nothing for young adults to do at night cuz the chief made owners of night clubs hire his police force at overtime rates

Pretend-Art2049

One of the most preventable deaths. A person convicted of drunk driving should have their license revoked, ID flagged, and spend minimum 30 days in jail for first infraction, a year for second, and 5 for the third. Any death caused by a drunk driver should be minimum 30 year sentence.

kr4ckenm3fortune

Is this accurate? I thought Wisconsin and Minnesota was the most drunk states? Are they hiding their stats better than California?

FatNoLifer

California has the highest population, it’s not weird that we have the most. Per capita they could be higher

dinkieeee

This list is per capita of the top 300 most populated cities

Mikeyyezzy

35? We can do better

Lumberlicious

There is a Wisconsin joke in here somewhere

rrxel100

Modesto has Fresno beat . Pretty tragic results nevertheless.

DontTreadonmeasshole

Back in 1974, when my 16 year old brother was left a quadriplegic for the next 13 years until his death, and just a short 4 months after our brother was sentenced to that short 13 years of hell, our only other brother was wiped out. Age 15, he lived 10 more days. Within a four month period our family was destroyed by drunk drivers. 50 years later and I have never stopped grieving, crying, missing my beautiful little brothers. And I never will. There were no laws on the books about drunk driving then. No MADD. Death and permanent injury by alcohol seemed like a daily occurrence in Fresno. Sadly, although there are now laws in place, the more things change the more they feel the same. So while I am intransigently saddened that innocent humans and families must still endure such horrific happenings that forever negatively impact their lives, it is somewhat reassuring that Fresno is not #1. /sarcasm 😞😥💔

Shasky1

Atta boy Fresno! Finally not on a list… I checks twice, hope I didn’t miss it.

knightsofren_

At least were the top in something for once

Llama_MamaRN

How interesting that the states with arguably the most illegal immigration have the highest rates…. 🤔

timaclover

No room for Xenophobia here.

Llama_MamaRN

No Xenophobia…. Just facts.

timaclover

Let's see the facts, please link them so we can all be educated.

Llama_MamaRN

Ummm…. Just look up at the chart and the picture of the US. CA, TX and AZ make up 53% of the list. These states have our highest numbers of illegal immigration and it’s likely worse now due to our open borders. (There’s also huge concentrations of dots in these areas if math isn’t mathing for you).

timaclover

It's not even worth asking you to explain anything further if you're going to make inferences with this data without referencing any actual data or provide proof.

Llama_MamaRN

It’s not my job to educate you…. You can research things for yourself. Best wishes with your ignorance ✌🏻 PS- downvoting is immature and akin to throwing a temper tantrum because you dont like what someone else says.

timaclover

"I'm right you're wrong...go spend your time and energy proving me right and that you're wrong!" Interesting perspective. Thankfully we still have the right to disagree with other people and voice our opinion. I honestly feel bad for your emotional health. That a random stranger calling you out and downvoting you would elicit such a strong emotional response. Hopefully you learn how to find validation in other areas of your life. ✌🏽
