Check your brew thermostat. Maybe it's dislodged, making poor contact, etc. If all else fails, do the Gaggiuino mod.
had the exact same issue, though on a much older machine. was the brew thermostat, it is an cheap part and a 5 minute job to replace. firstly check the connections to it and the switches

Maybe when they were inside the switch got flipped? Like the wiring for it at least? What happens when you flip it to the on position?
