Metal Gear Solid Collection, Ratchet and Clank trilogy, Jack and Daxter trilogy, Catherine, South Park Stick of Truth.
Obviously most of these are multi platform games so if you already have them on another platform I'd ignore them. I only own about 60 PS3 games and these as well as a few you already have are the ines I return to regularly.
Honestly, that's the hard part for me. There's so many ps3 games that got remade and are playable elsewhere. So I kinda just get some on ps3, based on what feels "ps3" to me
I'm partial to collecting games that are both exclusive to the system and good. Here are a few I recommend from my own collection:
Heavenly Sword
Katamari Forever
Lollipop Chainsaw
Metal Gear Solid 4
Tales of Xillia
Tales of Xillia 2
I found Tales of xillia at my local retro store, and recently finished berseria at the time. Definitely a fun game. People hype up berseria for the characters, and I do love them, but really they all seem equally good so far (also played arise)
These are some rare games that have been left in the PS3 days and have never been ported to PC. (As far as I know)
White Knight Chronicles
Naughty Bear
Folklore
Resonance of Fate
Asura's Wrath
Look up lists of games that are only on that generation of hardware and not on anywhere else. I would say save your money on games that have re-releases and are just better to play on modern hardware. Stick with games like kill zone and Resistance where it's the only place to play them
Even then... the PS3 version of New Vegas has a pretty big bug. The more you play... the bigger your save gets. The bigger your save is, the higher are the chances of getting said bug.
The bug is: you'll suddenly hit a 2 FPS cap... the only way to get rid of this is: Saving, Leaving the game, Restarting the game.
Then, as you keep playing, you'll get the bug more and more and more often...
Doesn’t Fallout 3 have that same issue? I saw someone complaining about it recently in r/trophies that just got the platinum.
That was the only generation I went Xbox instead of PS so I never dealt with it, but I do plan on eventually getting a PS3 to get the platinums on them.
It could be... but I never suffered from it. While New Vegas, I was plagued by it constantly. My save was way over a gigabyte in size and I had it every like, half hour.
Modnation Racer
Majin
Alice
The Orange Box
Plants vs Zombies
3D Dot Game Heroes
Bioshock trilogy
Brutal Legend
Dead Space 1&2
Ghostbusters
Evil Within
South Park Stick of Truth
Last of Us
Mirrors Edge
Portal 2
Puppeteer
More Uncharteds, the Last of Us, Dishonored, Ni no Kuni, Demon souls, Catherine, Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper, really any PS exclusives are money, God of War 3, Resistance, Killzone, Goldeneye remake. The PS3/Xbox 360 era had some amazing games
Games didn’t take 6-7 years to make back then and were just as good as what we get now. I think AA games are gonna be big again in a few years. Indies have a strong footing but it doesn’t seem like we’ve been getting too many quality AA games this gen.
Great taste in music.
There’s a racing game called pure, Disney made it. It’s pretty sweet and very cheap. It’s one of my all time favorites. Go buy pure
I forgot about Dante’s Inferno. Everyone called it a knockoff God of War and I think that hurt it. I was happy to play it. Might have to boot that one back up soon thanks.
Controversial take, but Max Payne 3. Very different from the other two but, judged on its own merits, very good. Looks incredible as well, and has a great soundtrack.
* **Metal Gear Solid 4:** Still a PS3 exclusive, and a cornerstone of the system.
* **Ridge Racer 7:** One of the prettiest games on the PS3, and a very fun arcade racer romp.
* **Lollipop Chainsaw:** Probably the definitive "creature of its time" game. Love the mechanics, the music (that won't be in the upcoming remake), and Tara Strong.
* **Spec Ops: The Line:** The mechanics might be a bit "run of the mill", but it'll make you question the whole idea of what a "video game" is. >!(And yes, dropping the controller and stop playing it is a valid option)!<
And for the love of doge, don't play that copy of Sonic '06, unless you're a Hedgehog completionist. It's *that* bad.
I need to finish spec ops the line. I played it on a stream and ran out of time. Very cool game tho.
I also got r4 for ps1. God I love that intro. Racing games are kinda a dime a dozen, especially today, so it's attitude and vibe that make the best ones stand out
I liked the Resistance games, worth a playthrough. Folklore is another good one, it was one of the first games I got for my PS3 and I sold it shortly after I finished it so I could buy Destiny. I regret selling it now. MGS4 is really good as well, I have the limited edition version and I'm happy I never sold it. I should play through it again now that I have a much nicer TV..
The Uncharted series and the Killzone series are supposed to be good too, but I haven't played them yet.
Google PS3 hidden gems lists. You'll find some stuff on there. Although good PS3 exclusives that never left the platform and are considered hidden gems are pricey now. Not ridiculously pricey but some are now more expensive than their original RRP.
All 3 of the f.e.a.r games, used to love those! The darkness and darkness 2 are another 2 I played a lot and resistance fall of man, 2 and resistance 3 spent a ton of time playing and replaying those games!
My favorite ps3 games were
Mgs 4
Condemned criminal origins. ( I played it on xbox but had the sequel on ps3)
Condemned 2
Fight night round 3 (ps3 has extra fps mode, best boxing game ever)
Uncharted 1-3
God of war 3
Fallout 3 game of the year
Fallout new Vegas ultimate edition
Nba2k12 (classic)
I think I had nba jam (they modernized it, might have been digital only release)
Lollipop chainsaw
Call of duty modern warfare 1, 2
Fat princess ( funnest online multiplayer game)
Plants vs zombies (good times were had on this game)
Killzone 3 (if you have a 3d TV and ps move they made a gun controller for this and when you combine 3d with motion it was pretty awesome.)
Resident evil 5
It’s The Orange Box and Portal 2 for the win.
Portal is such an experience, I always remember the comment from Kryten (mechanoid) in Red Dwarf, “I’m going to delete the whole thing from my memory bank just so I can [experience] them again”. It’s very, very good.
I like rounding off series. So maybe get the other uncharted games, would recommend looking at steel books some have some cool art and sometimes bonus stuff. I got gears 1 & 2 steel books that came with art books.
Edit: any fromsoft game u can get especially demon souls
- Lollipop Chainsaw
- WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011 all the way through 2K14 (the ones released after were the same game with minimal changes like rosters etc)
- Twisted Metal
- HD remasters of ps2 games
- Ratchet & Clank series
- Orange Box
- The Legend of Spyro Dawn of the Dragon
- Exclusives (Killzone, Resistance, Infamous, etc.)
- Sly Cooper 4 Thieves in time (trilogy is in remasters category)
- Harry Potter games
- Launch titles (Heavenly sword etc)
- PlayStation all stars battle royal
- Dead Space trilogy
- Skylanders
- Silent Hill games
- Naughty Bear
- If you're fan of movies/tv series then Saw 1 and 2, Lost Via Domus
- Alice Madness Returns
- Lollipop Chainsaw
- Puppeteer
- 3D dot game heroes
- PlayStation move heroes
- Heavy Rain (version with dlc)
- Aliens vs Predator
- Kingdom Hearts series
- First Assassin's Creed
For ps3 I personally go for exclusives or stuff that never got ported to PC. So Twisted Metal, Starhawk, Lair, Folklore, God of War, etc. As for non-exclusives but no PC version the majority of Marvel games from that generation (but they can also be pricey depending on the game), the two Transformers Cybertron games, or odd msic stuff like Naughty Bear, Bodycount, Stuntman Ignition etc.
I don’t have the energy to give you all the games I want to list….. I’m sure the comment section has already listed the a good portion of them, but welcome to my favorite generation of games on my favorite system to date….. I’m getting close to 500 PS3 physical games. I only collect games that I want to play and have interest in (unless I find something super cheap…. Like under $5).
https://preview.redd.it/cuia4dew3jwc1.jpeg?width=363&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6b81bc20988f58e51c63d289aea0f2c64b4ae3b4
That stare Sonic’s giving me makes me very uncomfortable
Get the original Motorstorm, no online, so still a full game, and still feels like a PS3 generation title with the physics, so it's still ike something that feels a step up from PS2 etc, even though that was usually due to online content back then, which we ain't got now.
I love Dark Souls 1. One of my favorite games of all time. It's not for everyone but it's on PS3. It's funny because I see Dark Souls 2 so, so, SO often at every game store I go to and even thrift stores. They usually have like five copies and they're all 10 bucks.
It's a good system to collet on because the games are very cheap still. I would track down Alice: Madness Returns, Nier, Tales of Xillia 1 and 2, Tales of Symphonia Chronicles, and Drakengard 3. They are still pretty cheap and will go up in value before long. Personally, all of the ps3 games I have I spent less than 5 bucks a piece on; aside from the ones listed above. I guess the other recommendations I would have are all of the Ninja Theory games developed for the system. Heavenly Sword, DMC, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West will also climb soon just strictly based on Ninja Theory being owned by Microsoft. Hope this helps!

I suppose this is off topic, but it's in your first pic: What is that multi-disc Master of Puppets release? Never seen this before.
It's the deluxe cd remaster of the album, comes with demos and live recordings. Got it as a birthday gift.
It’s like a steampunk Pinocchio
I’d buy that.
Try Lies of P then. PS4/PS5 game.
what?
T’was a joke 😅
Not trying to be a jerk, I just don't understand what that means.
No worries, the joke was Metallica: Master of puppets sounds like it could be a steampunk puppet game.
What an eye!
MGS4-- especially because PS3 is still the only way it can be played.
Metal Gear Solid Collection, Ratchet and Clank trilogy, Jack and Daxter trilogy, Catherine, South Park Stick of Truth. Stay away from the silent hill collection. It's as bad as they say and not getting any cheaper
The sly Cooper trilogy and thieves in time to a lesser extent.
I own that one but haven't played it yet so I couldn't justify putting it on my list.
I'm partial to collecting games that are both exclusive to the system and good. Here are a few I recommend from my own collection: Heavenly Sword Katamari Forever Lollipop Chainsaw Metal Gear Solid 4 Tales of Xillia Tales of Xillia 2
I found Tales of xillia at my local retro store, and recently finished berseria at the time. Definitely a fun game. People hype up berseria for the characters, and I do love them, but really they all seem equally good so far (also played arise)
Demon Souls
3d dot game heroes is my favorite ps3 game. It’s an exclusive and graphics still look great
scott the woz would be proud
These are some rare games that have been left in the PS3 days and have never been ported to PC. (As far as I know) White Knight Chronicles Naughty Bear Folklore Resonance of Fate Asura's Wrath
Resonance of fate is on steam but the rest aren’t
Thanks
Lollipop chainsaw, 3D dot game heroes, shadows of the damned.
Look up lists of games that are only on that generation of hardware and not on anywhere else. I would say save your money on games that have re-releases and are just better to play on modern hardware. Stick with games like kill zone and Resistance where it's the only place to play them
This! Many of those games can be had on other platforms at at least 1080p for cheap.
Sly Cooper collection
Resistance 1, 2 and 3 for sure. Ratchet and Clank games Heavenly Sword White Knight Chronicles if you like RPGs
Why did I have to scroll this far to see resistance lol such an underrated game series
* Fallout 3 * Armored Core 4 * Armored Core 4 Answer * Transformers: War for Cybertron * Darksiders * Darksiders 2 * Valkyria Chronicles * Dragon Age Origins * White Knight Chronicles II (contains both 1 and 2)
Don’t forget New Vegas! Edit: just looked at the pics
Even then... the PS3 version of New Vegas has a pretty big bug. The more you play... the bigger your save gets. The bigger your save is, the higher are the chances of getting said bug. I played valkyria chronicles 4. I love the battle system
Definitely GTA4 and RDR1
Came here to say the same.
Get the other uncharted games!
Shadow of the colossus and ico
Modnation Racer Majin Alice The Orange Box Plants vs Zombies 3D Dot Game Heroes Bioshock trilogy Brutal Legend Dead Space 1&2 Ghostbusters Evil Within South Park Stick of Truth Last of Us Mirrors Edge Portal 2 Puppeteer
Why do u have written : “assasins creed bro” 😂
dont question my methods lmao
Assassins creed brotherhood
Saw this and genuinely thought some guy sold him that like "nah bro don't worry. It's assassin's creed. Trust me bro"
worst part is that i got it for free from a friend and it doesnt even work lmao
Would add GT5 Prologue. It's sorta different than GT5, and it's a cool novelty.
I may be in the minority here but I really liked resistance fall of man on PS3. Played the ever-loving shit out of it when it first released
I put a few hundred hours into Resistance 2 multiplayer. 60 players was a big deal at the time.
Elder scrolls Oblivion
More Uncharteds, the Last of Us, Dishonored, Ni no Kuni, Demon souls, Catherine, Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper, really any PS exclusives are money, God of War 3, Resistance, Killzone, Goldeneye remake. The PS3/Xbox 360 era had some amazing games

Journey
I was so happy when it came to PC. Such a chill game
X-Men Wolverine Origins, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1, Batman Arkham Origins, & Sonic Unleashed.
Driver San Francisco
Great taste in music. There’s a racing game called pure, Disney made it. It’s pretty sweet and very cheap. It’s one of my all time favorites. Go buy pure
Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted 1, 2, and 3, Folklore, Dantes Inferno, Max Payne 3, Red Dead Redemption with Undead Nightmare.
I forgot about Dante’s Inferno. Everyone called it a knockoff God of War and I think that hurt it. I was happy to play it. Might have to boot that one back up soon thanks.
It was a great game, I didn't mind that it was a "copy" It also depends what you are into, there is this game called Asuras Wrath that is also crazy.
Controversial take, but Max Payne 3. Very different from the other two but, judged on its own merits, very good. Looks incredible as well, and has a great soundtrack.
Gundam Crossfire
Ghostbusters, Alice, Batman, Puppeteer
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. 🤌
lol
never heard of that one
Way of the samurai 4
**METAL** **GEAR** **SOLID** The Legacy Collection 1987-2012
Folklore and metal gear 4. Loved em.
Prince of Persia forgotten sands / or trilogy
Where is Dishonored?
More God of war games for sure
* **Metal Gear Solid 4:** Still a PS3 exclusive, and a cornerstone of the system. * **Ridge Racer 7:** One of the prettiest games on the PS3, and a very fun arcade racer romp. * **Lollipop Chainsaw:** Probably the definitive "creature of its time" game. Maybe some Capcom games like resident evil 5, dmc 4 and lost planet
Deadly Premonition
The Last Of Us
Alpha Protocol is a very decent game in the spy genre.
The Resistance games are awesome!
SSX!!
Persona 5
Call Of Duty: World at War (best cod game in my opinion)
Google PS3 hidden gems lists. You'll find some stuff on there. Although good PS3 exclusives that never left the platform and are considered hidden gems are pricey now. Not ridiculously pricey but some are now more expensive than their original RRP.
Nice cd collection lol
Fuck the PS3 collection for a sec, you got some banger CD’s in there
Motorstorm Pacific Rift
Fallout 3 i think is missing, I do see new vegas and 4 👍🏻
Wet, Remember Me, Lollipop Chainsaw, Brutal Legend, Enslaved, Puppeteer, Asuras Wrath. God, there’s so many… love the ps3
I got wet as a kid on Xbox 360. Still got it. Fun game. Lollipop chainsaw was one I wanted for a while and finally got.
Try folklore
All 3 of the f.e.a.r games, used to love those! The darkness and darkness 2 are another 2 I played a lot and resistance fall of man, 2 and resistance 3 spent a ton of time playing and replaying those games!
Need to complete the Lego Batman trilogy, Lego Batman 2 is the best out of the 3
I did have all three at one point though unfortunately the 2nd games disk got snapped in half and had to chuck it. Sad times.
dang that’s unfortunate
If you like Metallica may I suggest Guitar Hero Metallica
Sonic Unleashed. One of the best sonic games.
any persona, at least just one
Final Fantasy XIII isn’t too bad.
i’m telling you, mafia 2 is a must!! it’s got such memorable characters and it has quite some humour in it 🤎
You got mgs 5 but not 4? A must buy if you going for ps3.
If you ain't got them for ps2 or ps4, get Shadow of the colossus and ico collection
Best suggestion is to trash Sonic 06
Mortal kombat 9
God of war ascension and 3.. If that collection has them both then get the other collection which has the psp titles.
My favorite ps3 games were Mgs 4 Condemned criminal origins. ( I played it on xbox but had the sequel on ps3) Condemned 2 Fight night round 3 (ps3 has extra fps mode, best boxing game ever) Uncharted 1-3 God of war 3 Fallout 3 game of the year Fallout new Vegas ultimate edition Nba2k12 (classic) I think I had nba jam (they modernized it, might have been digital only release) Lollipop chainsaw Call of duty modern warfare 1, 2 Fat princess ( funnest online multiplayer game) Plants vs zombies (good times were had on this game) Killzone 3 (if you have a 3d TV and ps move they made a gun controller for this and when you combine 3d with motion it was pretty awesome.) Resident evil 5
Personally I would recommend Catherine and persona 5
You need heavy rain
It’s The Orange Box and Portal 2 for the win. Portal is such an experience, I always remember the comment from Kryten (mechanoid) in Red Dwarf, “I’m going to delete the whole thing from my memory bank just so I can [experience] them again”. It’s very, very good.
Definitely a lot of good titles to add, to much to list out. Elder Scrolls IV Fallout 3 These are just 2 that come to mind that are no brainers.
Yakuza 3
MAG AKA THE GREATEST GAME EVER MADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lego Batman 2 since you got the first and third one already
Can’t go wrong with the Skate series.
WWE 2K14
MGS4, Resistance trilogy, Kill zone 2&3
Highly recommend all of the ratchet and clank games on the console. The PS3 probably has the most expansive catalog of them.
I like rounding off series. So maybe get the other uncharted games, would recommend looking at steel books some have some cool art and sometimes bonus stuff. I got gears 1 & 2 steel books that came with art books. Edit: any fromsoft game u can get especially demon souls

Naughty Dog stuff for sure. All the Uncharted and Last of Us games.
Killzone and Resistance
Sleeping Dogs
Any final fantasy game
Rest in peace MAG. I’d recommend that game if it was still playable.
Saw Edge of Time in there but not Spiderman: Web of shadows. That one was a lot of fun too.
I've looked into getting that one but it's hard to find at a price under 3 digits. Rare game it seems.
Oh wow. I knew I was sittin on something with Lollipop but not idea about that one. Im keeping mine sorry. Happy hunting!
Bioshock 1,2 and Infinite. Fallout 3 and New Vegas. 4 if it was made for PS3. Edit: Didn't see New Vegas in pic.
3D Dot Game Hero
Family guy back to the multiverse
For ps3 I personally go for exclusives or stuff that never got ported to PC. So Twisted Metal, Starhawk, Lair, Folklore, God of War, etc. As for non-exclusives but no PC version the majority of Marvel games from that generation (but they can also be pricey depending on the game), the two Transformers Cybertron games, or odd msic stuff like Naughty Bear, Bodycount, Stuntman Ignition etc.

I’m sure the comment section has already listed the a good portion of them, but welcome to my favorite generation of games on my favorite system to date….. If you like racing games you should check out the Motorstorm series. PS3 exclusive and some seriously fun games.
Vanquish. Heard about it from a PS3 Hidden Gems youtube video (MetalJesusRocks?) and it's super fun.
Low key more interested in your Wii collection peeking in from the side haha
duke nukem forever
Same. I am trying as well. https://preview.redd.it/3fkntm97ekwc1.jpeg?width=4080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a52e7107b396b7f52a755b69d3561137e11ba961
Ratchet & Clank - all games.
BioShock and Modnation Racers.
I love Dark Souls 1. One of my favorite games of all time. It's not for everyone but it's on PS3. It's funny because I see Dark Souls 2 so, so, SO often at every game store I go to and even thrift stores. They usually have like five copies and they're all 10 bucks.

Sonic Heroes Sonic Unleashed Anything Sonic really...
You definitely need the other two Uncharted games for PS3. MGS HD Collection isn’t a bad choice either
Ni no kuni Wrath of the white witch, Nier, Folklore, 3D dot heroes and shadow of the collosus
The first ones that come to mind is dead island and diablo 3
Try to get Demon Souls or Dark Souls Also Need for Speed Carbon or Blur
Heavenly sword!!!!!!!!
Sonic Unleashed for sure. You can't play 06 and Generations and not have Unleashed.
Binary Domain, inversion, puppeteer, 3D dot game heroes, stranglehold, star wars the force unleashed
If you don’t have it, I would recommend getting metal gear solid three snake eater probably one of the best games I’ve ever played
Don’t and stick with ps2
Duke Nukem Forever
