Love the game. However not sure how they could modernize this game that would make sense nowadays.
From a thematic and story standpoint, I could easily see that being adapted and updated. Game play, unfortunately, is somewhat dated and the features it would bring would be miniscule compared to games out nowadays.
Burnout. It was just an absurdly fun series to play. You just turn your brain off. Go fast. And cause chaos.
From my understanding, criterion now works on NFS games, but it will never be the same. Licencing alone limits the amount of damage that can be done to a car, so you'll never get those slow mo crumple animations when you take down a rival. I also personally just don't like the heat/cop mechanics of the NFS series. (Forza horizon is the closest to scratching the arcade itch for me, but I still wish burnout was around)
Dino Crisis is so fun. I still have my Playstation 2 console and both games. The underwater sequence in 2 is so fun the way it makes the screen wavy and you move in slow motion. What was your favorite part?
There are multiple... While im not saying they have no chance coming back whatsoever their future right now looks pretty grim unfortunately.
1.Jak and Daxter
Really awesome trilogy but sadly we haven't gotten anything in a loooong time and naughty dog seems just too successful with The Last of Us to ever bother again.
2.Sly Cooper
Really can't tell why they won't just make a new game, really unique gameplay that aged like fine wine a banger cartoon aesthetic that still looks pleasing, good humor it really has everything i could ask of a 3D platformer especially the 2nd game.
3.Ape Escape
Aaaaand you mentioned it already but i can second that thought, its a really unique series that i enjoyed quite a lot! Its a really unique game with having all the tools be controlled with the right analog stick, i haven't seen that in a long time and no game feels like Ape Escape does basically. Not to mention it has that fun and silly charme that i miss a lot from older japanese games.
There are a lot more but ill keep it at that, main reason i mention these is because good AAA 3D platformers are sadly becoming rare (basically only Mario, R&C, Crash and Spyro still exist)
Jak and Daxter is definitely another I hate disappeared. But then I see what ND were planning for Jak 4 before they scrapped it and it might be for the best
I’m willing to die on this hill but old school Rainbow Six games that focused on planning and tactics or more Splinter Cell games. Old school Tom Clancy properties were so great.
X-Wing, Command and Conquer.
At least we got Squadrons, but with its short support cycle, I'm not sure we'll get any follow up for a *very* long time.
C&C just seems completely dead as a franchise though. Red Alert 3 was the last non-terrible game in the series (not counting remasters) and that was aaaaages ago.
The biggest issue with half life 3 is its been 17 years since half life 2 episode 2
The hype for it would be thru the roof that it will likely disappoint everyone when it releases
It's only been a few since since Alyx, which was basically Half Life 2 Episode 3/Half Life 3/Whatever in all but name. I don't think it disappointed anyone outside of those who can't play it due to the hardware requirement.
Well the vr requirement made it so the vast majority of people didn't play it. Steam had a peak of 16500 players
Some might have watched gameplay or read the plot of the story but making it a vr game kept it from millions more that would have played a half life game
SMT Devil Survivor.
I loved playing this game on my 3DS and its sequel as well. It’s a good mix of tactics like gameplay mixed with SMT and Persona as well. I look at something like fire emblem three houses and wish we could get a sequel for consoles on that level with refined gameplay but the series didn’t do so hot and I doubt they will ever make another one. Tried persona tactica but didn’t hit the same
Drakengard series. I played nier automata and fell in love with it, and it made me want to play Drakengard too, but the games look really clunky and dated and are also expensive and hard to find now. I’d love remakes for that series and I thought it’d happen after they remade the first Nier, but I guess not. Yoko Taro even said years ago that he’d be willing to do a Drakengard remastered collection if Square Enix funded it, but they haven’t :(
A few off the top of my head that I would love to see a remake / remaster or new entry in the series of:
Gargoyle's Quest
Parasite Eve
Legend of Legaia
7th Saga
Wizardry
Ultima
Might and Magic
Old Rockstar games like Manhunt. Manhunt was one of the freakist games I played as a kid on the PS2 and one of only a couple games that ever made me jump. It was banned in certain countries due to how violent it was. Could use random objects around the map to gouge out eyes, cut heads off, and then carry the heads around to throw to create sound and distract enemies etc. Wide arrange of items to use to execute enemies as you snuck around the world maps.
They made a Manhunt 2 not long after, but it was a watered-down version to meet countries' censorship laws. Didn't have the same shock value. It's been 17 years since the second one came out.
An arcade racing game with power ups and licensed cars called Blur. It was the most fun racing game I've ever experienced. 20 person racing mayhem with everyone tossing neon color coded power ups was so much fun.
The Blue shell equivalent EMP Blast that targeted first place could be dodged and weaved around with good skill but would still slow down the pack was a fun addition aswell.
I greatly miss Blur RIP Bizarre Creations and screw Activision for canceling Blur 2 and killing Bizarre Creations partway through development...
No One Lives Forever is dead in the water unless someone can figure out how owns the IP.
Backstory: Sierra Interactive and Monolith developed the original games before being bought out by different companies; Sierra became part of Vivendi/Activision, and Monolith is part of Warner Bros.
No One Lives Forever. It's tied up in legal issues because there are three possible companies that own the rights, but none want to pay the legal fees to sort it out.
Would love a remaster or remake. A sequel would be great, too, but I doubt any studio would dare make a game with the same style of humor today.
I really wish that Square Enix would make a sequel to Einhänder, or at the very least release a remaster of the original. They keep making occasional references to it in some of their other series' like Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts, but have yet to do anything else with it.
I'm the only one but I miss Zumba so much! I had it on my PS3 and the console broke, and when I replaced it I could no longer access the game I supposedly "owned." It was just a silly game but I could almost meditate while playing it. It relaxed me so much.
I'll say one that isn't probably tops on many lists. Days Gone. This game really deserved to do better. Once it got on psplus, it explodes in players with positive views. The only problem was that those players paid little to no cost. Fyi, I'm not knocking the players that got it through psplus. That led to the chances of a sequel and a possible movie to seemingly disappear.
The game, once polished and patched, is a fantastic open world blast. It has good crafting, a solid upgrade system with nothing to op. The skills more work together as a while to make the player more badass. It has solid moments of tension that can happen anywhere if you aren't paying attention. In the beginning, night time is almost a no-go unless you hug your motorcycle. Hordes are challenging, especially when you have no idea how big they are. You can run acrodd a horde at night without even knowing it until "oh shit" By the time you spend a good amount of time getting new recipes, new guns plus modified cartridges, and upgrades to your motorcycle, it feels worthy to be able handle hordes with a bit more ease. Every horde has multiple ways to go about killing it as well. You can stealth with attractors and grebades, napalm molotov, attractor bombs, proximity mines, etc. You can hit them I their caves where they sleep during the day or while roaming at night to their eating and drinking locations. You can kill some hordes with environmental hazards from gas trucks to gascans. You can ride up full force on your bike spraying and run and gun them. All that and anything in-between can work.
There are plenty of other activities besides horde killing as well. Each conclave you visit has missions and better weapons or bike parts or both. You have to earn credits and trust by doing bounty missions or rescuing randoms in the wild and sending them to a camp and so on. Each camp has a different currency and trust rating. It never feels like a slog, though. There are beautiful locations to admire, and the story is very solid. The voice acting is incredible, and you will enjoy the protagonist and his peeps immensely. This game really never feels like a grind and never truly loses its oh shit moments. Running out of gas is truly terrifying at night. The end of the story lends itself both to a sequel or simply an ending, which is rare.
Please, somehow, some way make a sequel to Days Gone.
Just recently I discovered "The fall: Last Days of Gaia", and I fell so much in love with it. Now I want a complete remake so it doesn't glitch all the time! Honestly, I want it so bad, I'll do it myself!
My friend, Ape Escape 2 is a top 10 all timer for me. One of few games I kept for my PS2 and why I still keep it around. A good friend of mine from childhood passed away a few years ago and we used to play it all the time. Even the silly soccer mode. Good times and great games.
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic aka the Adventures of Sir Kicks a Lot aka Leg Day Simulator etc.
I will never again play a first person non shooter action adventure rpg game that brings me the joy I felt chucking boxes at guards or cutting chandeliers to go swinging into them, or just a cute lil ice slick on the ground for them to slip on and right off of a cliff.
Days Gone. It’s a pity as the story ends so clearly on a sequel hook and there are many opportunities to expand the world that they built and improve the gameplay
Okay, hear me out. Anthem.
The minute to minute gameplay was so fun, and the customization showed incredible promise. It's just a shame that the writing/development and the rollout were so mismanaged. Take the bones of the gameplay and world and give us a proper re-do.
Master of Orion, Duke Nukem, and Saints Row. Moo3 was bad, really bad at launch. It's a shame because Moo is good and Moo2 pretty much perfection. Saints Row turned into insanity in a very good way, but they had nowhere to go after 4 and the reboot basically offered up protagonists the OG Saints would have gone out of their way to fuck with. Duke deserved a better sendoff than Forever.
Lunar. Silver Star and Eternal Blue are absolutely bangers, Dragon Song does not exist. The only company I trust to translate a new one hasn't existed in 20 years.
Uncharted Waters. (It's still around but only as online spinoffs and half-arsed homages.)
Everblue. (Two games were made for the PS2, and the first is basically a prototype of the second. A spinoff series was made for the Wii but it had completely gone off the rails.)
Sacred. (Sacred 2 was lightning in a bottle. They tried another and it was a disaster.)
Castlevania Harmony of Despair. (Multiplayer 2D Castlevania borrowing its grind from Diablo and everything else from the entire franchise. An experience that could only be retreaded if Konami randomly decided to do a PC port.)
Landstalker. (One of the greatest RPGs of the 16 bit era. They tried making a sequel on the PSP... 20 years ago. A video exists.)
Sleeping Dogs
Oh man a remote or sequel if this would be SICK

After 3rd Birthday I'm not sure I'd even want it to return haha
Why do you seek my tears?
Timesplitters
Love the game. However not sure how they could modernize this game that would make sense nowadays. From a thematic and story standpoint, I could easily see that being adapted and updated. Wreckfest is pretty fun if u haven't tried it. Arcadey and destructive haha
Loved burnout 3 takedown
I enjoyed paradise.
Lord of the Rings: Battle for Midfle earth RTS. Monday night combat Fractured Space Atlas Reactor Fusion Frenzy
Monday night combat was fun forgot about it till now
Dino Crisis. I know it’s not an opinion shared by the majority, but I enjoyed Dino Crisis 1&2 more than Resident Evil.
Dino Crisis is so fun. I still have my Playstation 2 console and both games. The underwater sequence in 2 is so fun the way it makes the screen wavy and you move in slow motion. What was your favorite part?
I think there’s a fair chance for Capcom to revive Dino Crisis. I’d rather play a remake/sequel of Dino Crisis than of Code Veronica, that’s for sure.
Black and white
* Jade Empire * Custom Robo * actual Command and Conquer (OG series, Red Alert, or Generals)
Freespace
That game was an integral part of my childhood. I spent so much time playing both games and so many custom campaigns. Its the best.
The Legacy of Kain
This series was dope, would love this world with a modern day framework.
Dungeon Keeper. And I don't count that microtransaction pit on the app store.
Soul Reaver
prototype
Commander Keen
Luckily, the mobile game was cancelled.
Generals:zero hour
I'd love another Tony Hawk videogame. Pro Skater or otherwise.
Underground for me man those games were so much fun
Vagrant Story Legend of Dragoon
Scrolled far for this. Legend of dragoon was such a core part of my childhood.
Same, I’ve replayed it more than a few times on ROMs. I think it’s available on PS5 now though. Such an amazing game.
I played the ps3 port a few years ago. I don't think it aged well. It really just needs remade lol
My old man brain has a hard time reading the dialogue these days. I would love a remake.
There are multiple... Jax and daxter is amazing and would love to see more of the game
Jak and Daxter is definitely another I hate disappeared. But then I see what ND were planning for Jak 4 before they scrapped it and it might be for the best
Infamous
gosh, if they released infamous 1+2 on pc id be soooo happy
I.Q.: Intelligent Qube was such a great game for PS1!
I played the demo for that that came with my PlayStation so much!
I’m willing to die on this hill but old school Rainbow Six games that focused on planning and tactics or more Splinter Cell games. Old school Tom Clancy properties were so great.
There's rumor of a Splinter Cell remake in development, but I got that from the internet so who knows.
Eternal Darkness
The canceled Silent Hills looked like it was going to be basically this. I'll never let that hurt go, Konami. Fuck you for wasting Kojima.
Zombies ate my neighbors
Manhunt. Yea Manhunt 2 was lame, but look at Red Dead 2 and now GTA 6 on the way, just imagine a new Manhunt game 👌
C&C was so great, I wish they would make a C&C4. Though I do think we might get more remasters which would be great.
Thief
The Mother series! For Nintendo. EarthBound is one of my favorite games ever, and I just love their style of RPG so much.
Army of Two. Either remake it or make a sequel that pretends the third game doesn’t exist
Half Life 3
The biggest issue with half life 3 is its been 17 years since half life 2 episode 2 The hype for it would be thru the roof that it will likely disappoint everyone when it releases
It's only been a few since since Alyx, which was basically Half Life 2 Episode 3/Half Life 3/Whatever in all but name. I don't think it disappointed anyone outside of those who can't play it due to the hardware requirement.

Tried persona tactica but didn’t hit the same
The Might and Magic series. They made X:Legacy not too long ago but I wish they would remake 3 and Xeen.
Black and White
MegaMan Legends.... Do it Capcom!
I was scrolling down to find if anyone had mentioned MML. Get him off the moon already, Capcom!
I'd really love a return of the C&C games, specifically the red alert and tib sun games.
Killer7 Skies of Arcadia Baten Kaitos Advanced Wars Golden Sun
Drakengard series. I played nier automata and fell in love with it, and it made me want to play Drakengard too, but the games look really clunky and dated and are also expensive and hard to find now. Yoko Taro even said years ago that he’d be willing to do a Drakengard remastered collection if Square Enix funded it, but they haven’t :(
Duuude ape escape was so fun! I wish we had a proper digimon game or Gundam game
Check out digimon world next order if you haven’t, a very faithful evolution of the og digimon world
That car game blur from 2010 was meant to have a second but got cancelled Was like mario kart but with real cars
Great to find another Blur fan I loved it. It was the most addicting Online game for me.
Splinter Cell
Legend of Dragoon
Titanfall
Brave Fencer Musashi. Loved the game on PS1. I'd honestly be happy with an HD remaster to smooth it out, but a new game would be awesome.
Been waiting since 2005 for a continuation of the Star Fox series that isn't a portable game or a remake/reboot of 64.
Shadow Hearts
Arcanum and Tenchu series
Freelancer
Poy Poy. Was a 3D bomberman battle type game for the PS1
Socom How I wish they stopped trying to “innovate” and milked it like an annual release cash cow with re skins and new maps
Shadow Hearts. Im afraid baldurs gate only pushes it further away.
Shadow Hearts is getting a spiritual successor at least just like Suikoden with Eiyuden Chronicle.
I desperately want another Viva Pinata or at least a remaster of them.
A few off the top of my head that I would love to see a remake / remaster or new entry in the series of: Gargoyle's Quest Parasite Eve Legend of Legaia 7th Saga Wizardry Ultima Might and Magic
Hey, rare to find a Legend of Legaia fan nowadays. I’d love a remaster of this game definitely.

I have 2. Jade cocoon and eternal eyes.
Vigilante 8. Though I guess they wrapped up the story pretty well.
An arcade racing game with power ups and licensed cars called Blur. Downhill Domination
Overwatch 1
Disco Elysium, since za/um is pulling all the bs
Metal Arms Battlefield Bad Company
Kid Chameleon
Infamous
Earthworm Jim
Phantasy Star Online/Blue Burst. The OG PSO games, not the new shitty PSO2 or PSO2 NGS ones.
Dino crisis
Infamous, Sly Cooper, Jak and Dexter, basically a ton of the PS2/PS3 games I grew up with.
No One Lives Forever is dead in the water unless someone can figure out how owns the IP. Backstory: Sierra Interactive and Monolith developed the original games before being bought out by different companies; Sierra became part of Vivendi/Activision, and Monolith is part of Warner Bros.
I thought I was alone. I never see this game brought up in these threads, and it's the only one I want to come back.
I'd love to see a Tyranny sequel
Rayman is no moree
Xenosaga.
Jak and daxter
I just want to play Ico.
LA Noire, IGI 3, Bully, Midnight Club, Manhunt.
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West - I remember it being an interesting story with great characters and fun gameplay.
Star Wars Galaxies. And yes, I know there are player run servers. I want something current gen with the same spirit.
Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, Lufia, and Breath of Fire.
The Burnout racing series. I mean the way it was before they made Burnout Paradise.
No One Lives Forever. It's tied up in legal issues because there are three possible companies that own the rights, but none want to pay the legal fees to sort it out. Would love a remaster or remake. A sequel would be great, too, but I doubt any studio would dare make a game with the same style of humor today.
Freespace
Fable or darkstone
Legacy of Kain.
Killzone. I don't even need a sequel, I would just like the series available on PC.
Privateer
Bushido Blade, and Star Wars: KOTOR
Infinite Warfare
Suikoden
Suikoden just got a spiritual successor called Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. Its a shame that Yoshitaka died just before the game was completed.
Soldier of Fortune
Front Mission, as it was. I'll take a crunchy turn based tactical over the forgettable shooter the last entry became.
HyperZone
Town & Country Surf Designs: Wood & Water Rage
Hogs of War
Battletoads. Despite Dlala’s 2020 unfortunate misfire, I still hope that the toads will one day return to proper butt-kicking form.
Gravity Rush
Vigilante 8, fusion frenzy, lost Vikings, toejam and earl, command and conquer.
Chibi Robo
I really wish that Square Enix would make a sequel to Einhänder, or at the very least release a remaster of the original. They keep making occasional references to it in some of their other series' like Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts, but have yet to do anything else with it.
Skullmonkeys

70’s Robot Anime Geppy-X. There were plans for a sequel, but the developer went bankrupt and shut down before development began.

My friend, Ape Escape 2 is a top 10 all timer for me. One of few games I kept for my PS2 and why I still keep it around. A good friend of mine from childhood passed away a few years ago and we used to play it all the time. Even the silly soccer mode. Good times and great games.
Bully
Too Human
City of heroes
Wizardry a proper direct sequel to Chrono Trigger
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic aka the Adventures of Sir Kicks a Lot aka Leg Day Simulator etc. I will never again play a first person non shooter action adventure rpg game that brings me the joy I felt chucking boxes at guards or cutting chandeliers to go swinging into them, or just a cute lil ice slick on the ground for them to slip on and right off of a cliff.
Mail Order Monsters.
Megaman Legends.
Sleeping Dogs or the N64 version of Perfect Dark, i'm hoping it makes a return on Switch Online but probably not.
Wild Arms

Conker’s Bad Fur Day and Viewtiful Joe Edit: and Parasite Eve
Days Gone. It’s a pity as the story ends so clearly on a sequel hook and there are many opportunities to expand the world that they built and improve the gameplay
marvel ultimate alliance. deus ex but good this time.
Wild Arms. It just hit that perfect blend of Western and Fantasy with a hint of sci-fi that scratched an inch I can’t get scratched anywhere else
Condemned. The only game that ever actually scared me while playing and a horror video game done right. The sound design was on a whole new level
Panzer Dragoon Saga

Okay, hear me out. Anthem. The minute to minute gameplay was so fun, and the customization showed incredible promise. It's just a shame that the writing/development and the rollout were so mismanaged. Take the bones of the gameplay and world and give us a proper re-do.

Master of Orion, Duke Nukem, and Saints Row. Moo3 was bad, really bad at launch. It's a shame because Moo is good and Moo2 pretty much perfection.
