Tony Hawk's Underground

jusworks

Kingdom Hearts is easily the best soundtrack

PatientlyAnxious9

Its funny because THPS and KH are both the first 2 games that came to my mind lol

MichaelTheProgrammer

If you like Kingdom Hearts, check out this weather channel storm alert! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjAxsWgEexI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjAxsWgEexI)

ChaosEchoGaming

I can hear this comment.

PatientlyAnxious9

Its gotta be Tony Hawks Pro Skater, considering he just went on tour last year with the bands from that game playing the games soundtrack around the country 20+ years later. People can have their own personal favorite but as far as overall popularity, its THPS by a landslide

kerred

THPS 1&2 Remake I feel is up there with THUG and the rest, not just for combining two soundtracks but discovering new bands as a result. Something I feel ill never experience again and glad THPS 1&2 gave that to me one more time. I won't want to spoil it in case anyone wants to chase that dopamine rush lol

Light-Knight1447

NFS Most Wanted the original, fight me

Spokker

Undertale is the best for me right now. Character motifs. A main melody that is arranged in different ways throughout the game. Not afraid to be silly. Manages to make the same battle song sound different somehow. I'm a sucker for character themes though. I'm actually disappointed when a game or movie doesn't do it.

JadedIT_Tech

Ace combat has soundtracks that are far better than they have any right to be.

Johnny_Alpha

Risk of Rain 1 & 2 Mass Effect Red Alert 1 Doom (2016) Outer Wilds Zelda a Link to the Past

underhelmed

Halo, Hades, Donkey Kong Country

peakzorro

DKC2 has a better soundtrack.

Tokes_ACK

Literally every DK after the OG has an amazing soundtrack.

lazy-but-talented

SSX 3 or any game with the Radio Big Soundtracks like Burnout Paradise. I think also many of the FIFA games have absolute banger soundtracks, although not original tracks they are curated playlists that I feel really embody a fluid vibrant game

gloomy_twat

Death Stranding. Bloodborne. Doom 2016 and Eternal. GTA San Andreas (not really its own music but the radio stations were epic). God of War. Halo 2 and Reach. Gears of War. Just a few I can think of off the top of my head.

Nier Automata, all of the Final Fantasy games( even 13), Ghost of Tsushima, Dad of War, AC Odyssey, A Plague Tale, BG3

entity2

Opinions and all that, but I will put the Persona series alongside any of the other greats out there. IMO, no game had a better-fitting soundtrack to it's visual presentation than Persona 5 Royal.

Qudazoko

Stellaris

robert808s8

Zelda botw immersive adaptive soundtrack with how it changes and varies even with player items making sounds affecting it to some degree. Whole video on it on youtube goes into great depth.

Smash Bros Ultimate. It's got ALL the soundtracks

Tony Hawk. Haven’t played any newer ones but the original few always had great songs.

TWISTED METAL 4!! Rob Zombie - Dragula

Final Fantasy 14, if we're talking original works. Bangers all over the place. The Alexander Raid series of music is some of my favorite all time music. Hell, FF14 has its own official touring rock band, The Primals. And not even to mention the Nier music, covers of other games, music from tie-ins, and pieces from other FF games. https://youtu.be/oHay26m_gcE https://youtu.be/SmPQ5jE3eDE https://youtu.be/oauyStJPNhQ https://youtu.be/wq4VeBSn0HA

GoliathLandlord

Hades and Minecraft

Edgaras1103

witcher trilogy, mass effect trilogy, elder scrolls series , assasins creed games composed by Jesper Kyd

Invalid-Cookie

Throwing my vote in for Nier Automata and Nier Replicant. I'd say lots of JRPG's have really good soundtracks. Xenoblade chronicles, Ys games.

hysteria265

Why the hell is this so low. Nier has the best soundtrack of all times.

Radiant_Pudding5133

Vice City

Light-Knight1447

Gimme some of that Fever 105

Radiant_Pudding5133

So many bangers man

[deleted]

Final fantasy 4-10. My personal favorites being FF6, 7, 8, and 10. In general, final fantasy music, even those post-FF10 not composed by the original composer, Nobuo Uematsu, are all solid.

NinjaMoose_13

14s are fantastic, too. Both the games' original pieces and it's remixes of classic FF songs.

[deleted]

I’ve heard a decent amount of FF14s over the years. I agree - it’s solid. My favorites are all ones composed by uematsu (dragonsong, answers, etc)

NinjaMoose_13

My god. Reminds of the on day I had .y playlist on shuffle and it played aeriths theme. Then dragonsong then a different more acoustic version of aeriths theme all in a row. It hit me in the feels. So sad.

Django117

Amazed how nobody has mentioned Castlevania Symphony of the Night.

aestus

If I had to choose one I would go for Nier Automata. It is absolutely incredible

CLT113078

GTA Vice City

bauul

Thunder Force IV. Absolute peak Sega Megadrive / Genesis soundchip metal.

OrlaTheGremlin

Ori and the Blind Forest / Will of the Wisps. Gorgeous orchestral music, matches the game perfectly - had the full soundtrack in rotation since the game released and still not bored of it.

Nikke: Goddess of Victory Seriously, the devs make a good deal of money from the sales of their soundtracks cause they're just so good.

Embarrassed-Pair5058

Visual Novels in general are great for soundtracks! Maybe I'll pick something like Clannad

Gthcgamer

Persona 3,4,5

Witcher 3, including the Blood & Wine soundtrack, is a favourite on my Spotify.

Festivus-Miracle

Doom Eternal Donkey Kong Country 2

SublimeAtrophy

Tho that come to mind: Risk of Rain 2. They're simple, but they've got a vibe to 'em. Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition Still have a lot of songs from it on my Spotify playlist, and it intruduced me to a few bands I still listen to. (NiN, Idlewild, Hundred Reasons, Pilot to Gunner)

Kamakazie

Risk of Rain 1 & 2 Dustforce Tunic Command & Conquer (and Red Alert) Undertale Wipeout XL

CT1914Clutch

Payday 2, without question for me.

Reasonable-Daikon463

I have to agree that soundtracks are really important. I believe they're often underappreciated. People tend to focus more on graphics, but a good soundtrack can be the icing on the cake for a beautiful environment. Some of my favorite soundtracks: - ARK: Survival Evolved - Subnautica - Dark Souls 3 (Good taste :D ) - Planetary Annihilation: TITANS - Stellaris - Monster Hunter: World - Stray

Accurate-Tale-2460

Totally agree with Death Stranding. My partner and I found a good chunk of bands and artists after listening to a lot of low roar. Also a really big fan of remixed versions of Legend of Zelda music. VGR has one of Song of Storms and it’s just so good

RaspberryBirdCat

If you go by game soundtracks and composers that have been recognized by classical music, then the list would be: Final Fantasy Civilization Kingdom Hearts Journey Chrono Trigger Zelda Skyrim God of War World of Warcraft Everybody's Gone to the Rapture Halo Red Dead Redemption Undertale Gris There are some important video game composers represented on this list, like Nobuo Uematsu, Yoko Shimomura, Koji Kondo, Christopher Tin, and Austin Wintory. Sometimes, the reputation of a soundtrack is entirely unrelated to the success of the game.

husky0168

Guilty Gear. to be fair, you're buying a music album with the added bonus of a free game with these titles.

Koopa_Brothers

GTA 4, Ghost of Tsushima, Red dead redemption, Fallout 3/ New Vegas just to name a few

SpeedySpeedBoy36

Alan Wake, Max Payne (1-2) and Control

mrhippoj

- Bloodborne - Disco Elysium - Sonic Unleashed - Bayonetta - Hotline Miami 1&2 - OlliOlli World What the hell, is this being downvoted because of Sonic, coz I thought these were totally uncontroversial picks. That Sonic Unleashed soundtrack rules even if the game itself doesn't

SediAgameRbaD

All games have the best soundtracks in their own ways.
