Whenever that song came on I yeeted off a ramp into a budling. Something in my soul told me this is how you run away. I was always driving my crotch rocket.
one of my earlist memories being absolutely baked out my tits was playing gta san Andreas flying around the hazy orange desert skies with "eminence front" by the who playing on the radio.
Whenever I hear Superman by Goldfinger I can never not hear the time ticking down when it gets to that part of the song that your run ends in the THPS1
No More Rest for the Wicked is forever spliced with Borderlands 1 for me. The only one I enjoyed enough to actually clear.
Also "In for the Kill" is not even on the soundtrack, but is forever now connected to Bayonetta 1 for me. - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7PZ1i992kc&ab\_channel=SEGAEurope](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7PZ1i992kc&ab_channel=SEGAEurope)
Simple and Clean by Hikaru Utada, it’s the Kingdom Hearts song but I had it on repeat for an embarrassing amount of time while playing WoW and now it reminds of that game more than KH. I love the music box version too
For me it's Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 because of the trailer of the game. I was so hyped for that I even pre-ordered it. (I don't really pre-order games, especially digital games and that was my first time.)
Ain't No Rest For The Wicked by Cage The Elephant for Borderlands 1
Short Change Hero by The Heavy actually has 2 that come to mind for me. 1 is for Borderlands 2, and the other is Batman Arkham City
Jerry Was A Race Car Driver by Primus for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1
Get Low by Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz for Need For Speed Underground
Go by The Chemical Brothers for Crash Bandicoot 4 It's About Time (still 1 of the greatest and multi layered subtitle for any game ever)
Edit:
Just as I was posting When Worlds Collide by Powerman 5000 for Smackdown vs Raw, came to mind
I associate Florence and the Machine's "Stand By Me" with FFXV. But that's mostly because they recorded it ***for*** that game.
*When the night has come*
*And the land is dark*
*And the moon is the only light we'll see*
*No, I won't be afraid*
*Oh, I won't be afraid*
*Just as long as you stand, stand by me*
Take On Me: Aha: Saints Row 2 (when it comes on while driving and your character sings along)
Holding Out For A Hero: Bonnie Tyler - Saints Row 3
Don't Wanna Miss A Thing: Aerosmith - Saints Row 4
Those games have a habit of sound tracking an awesome dramatic gameplay moment with the perfect song to hype you up for it

Always by Erasure = Robot Unicorn Attack
September/You're the Inspiration = Elite Beat Agents
Song from a Secret Garden = Oblivion in DJMax
[Bagsakan](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAvPeCwPxUw) by Parokya ni Edgar = Contra base levels
Don't Fear the Reaper and Returnal, obviously.
The Bartender and the Thief drags me straight back to Gran Turismo.
Finally, Moonlight Sonata. If you think I'm going to say Resident Evil, you are incorrect! Straight to Jet Set Willy in my mind.
Guns 'n Roses - Paradise City
I don't think I have to write the name of the game.
Cage the Elephant - Ain't no rest for the wicked.
Borderlands 1. Was an awesome intro to a great game.
Snoop Dogg & The Doors - Riders on the storm
Need for Speed Underground 2.
Rolling Stones - Paint it, Black
Call of Duty Black Ops 2. Because of the trailer. I even pre-ordered it back then.
The White Stripes - Seven Nation Army (Glitch Mob remix)
Battlefield 1. Also because of it's trailer.
Smashing Pumpkins Adore album is intertwined with F Zero X for the N64. They came out a few months apart and I would listen to the CD while playing the game.
Michael Jacksons - Billy Jean
Instant transportation back to the opening of gta vice city, my first gta experience, and the absolute nostalgic, awe realising just how much of a open world it was.
After the opening cut scene, your turned into this open world the nearest car is a white admiral and the song that plays every time you get in, the first song, is always Billy Jean. It was such an mind blowing experience for little me that it's like a core memory and one of my very few good ones. I'm transported every time I heard those opening notes.
I was playing original Modern Warfare 2 while listening to Rob Zombie. Came to the part where you fight through the stock market, and Dragula came on. Perfect energetic music for that part. Now I always think of it when I hear that song.
Shephard of Fire by Avenged Sevenfold for Call of Duty Black Ops 2 zombies, but generally just CoD zombies as a whole.
I was already an enjoyer of CoD zombies before that point, but once they released that trailer for the Origins map, and especially after I was able to play it in game by the Easter egg, man, I was hooked.
Have been a CoD zombies diehard fan ever since, though have taken a bit of a break after it lost its identity in recent games.
I'm Rock — Need For Speed Most Wanted 2005. Not even my favourite song in the game, but it's the one I think of first.
Drunken Sailor by Noir Désir — AC Black Flag.
I used to play links golf on the original xbox with my dad and karma police and other songs by radio head used to play and dad used to play them on itunes
I used to play a snowmobile racing game on the Playstation 1 and it would play Dragula by Rob zombie. Cant for the life of me remember the name of that damn game
Jingle Jangle Jingle - Fallout New Vegas..never played it. Ended up watching cutscenes, dialogues, gameplay outta nowhere after YT recommended Caesars introduction to the courier.
I Don’t Want To Set The World On Fire - Fallout 3
Club Foot - Tony Hawks Project 8
Real Big - Midnight Club 3
Downfall - MX Unleashed
Pedal to the Metal - Splashdown Rides Gone Wild
"Are You Gonna Go My Way" and "99 Red Balloons" - Gran Turismo 3
"Rockstar (Jason Nevins Remix)" and "Higher Ground" (plus several others, really) - SSX3
"If You Must" - THPS3
Too many to list - Fallout: New Vegas
A little more unorthodox one: Party in the USA - Miley Cyrus for RuneScape. Around the time this song was peaking some friends and I were playing the shit out of this RuneScape private server and I had that song on repeat for a while. They’re forever linked in my mind.
Okay guys, this is a massive longshot, but does anyone remember that game 'zone of the enders'?
This girl singing gives me nostalgic goosebumps every time.
https://youtu.be/HlmoDCeu4bY?si=9HTs4rCW5sDZaN1e
Swollen members - fuel injected always reminds me of a snes game called evo i used to play with emulator. You begun as a fish and kept evolving until you reached a land animal like trex
Future days - tlou 2
Tons and tons of gta tracks and guitar hero
Superman - Tony Hawk
And it has no relation to the game but i always think of Gears of war when i hear Burn in Hell - Dimmu borgir
Me and friend used to have that playing a lot when playing longshot 1v1s on canal
Firestarter by Torre Florim with Just Cause 3. Because a youtuber whose let's play I watched used it in his intro.
Also, every sea shanty makes me think of AC Black Flag.
It's tricky to rock around to rock around it's tricky, tricky tricky tricky! SSX Tricky
Summer time, and the livin's easy - Tony Hawk Pro Skater
(also, whatever happened to all those awesome X Games-inspired video games with epic sound tracks? They're making like four kinds of games these days and it's boring)
And finally Raindrop Prelude Op. 28 No.15 on account what might be the most epic and creative game ad ever filmed. [Halo 3: Believe.](https://youtu.be/a3ZGGIdpfEM?si=8X_QGUeg8VeTVXTe)
Whenever i hear Liberate By Disturbed, Break On Through By The Doors and Ring Of Fire by Johnny Cash i immediately picture Tony Hawk Underground 2 and Skating around in Boston with my created skater.
I Don’t Give a Fuck - 2Pac from San Andreas. Radio los santos got me into rap but that song in particular I knew word for word and still do to this day
I don't even like the game anymore, but Don't Stop Me Now reminds me of fucking around in custom games with friends in Overwatch back in 2017.
Hee hoo Lucio go zoom
"In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins will always remind me of the hype af trailer for Dead Space 3. They used a sample of a hard rock version of the song in the trailer, and I still to this day wish there was a full version somewhere
Gravity Kills - Falling always reminds me of Test Drive 5, which may have the greatest soundtrack I've heard in a PSX game.
Gravity Kills was a band **full** of bangers. Had all their albums when I was a teenager. Pitchshifter as well.
This has nothing to do with the games themselves, but the sultans of swing brings me to the bazaar level on crash bandicoot 3, and hotel California takes me to the hotel level in super Mario sunshine when you fight that manta ray thing. Must have been impressionable at the time.
“Welcome to Planet Motherfucker” by White Zombie reminds me of Way of the Warrior on the 3DO, and 100% “Rusty Cage” by Soundgarden reminds me of Road Rash on the same system
Don’t Fear the Reaper because of Rock Band.
I made me hate the song. I was playing the drums and that song was cockblocking me for ages.
Now here’s the problem with that song: the drums for the first several minutes are absolutely trivial. Mind numbingly boring and simple.
Then you get to the bridge of the song where there drums are pretty nuts. On a real drum kit it’s not insane but the little plastic kit doesn’t hold up well for lots of rapid hits. And I failed it there dozens of times. Load up the simple stuff for another 5min!
Blister in the sun reminds me of as_tundra in old school counter strike playing when our family computer was in a nook in my brothers room with a window open next to me with a nice breeze on a hot day
I spent a whole summer listening to Nickelback's "How You Remind Me", while playing the Capture the Flag mode on hoverbikes in the Free Browser game "Infantry".
Also Mad World will always remind me of Gears of War because of [this game ad](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccWrbGEFgI8). I played the demo and it wasn't really my kind of shooter, but I ended up buying it solely because of this trailer for it.
Sound Garden - Rusty Cage and Road Rash on the original Playstation are inextricably linked for me. Just the first couple guitar notes sets me on a motorcycle holding a chain...
An entire album. American Idiot by Green Day. Christmas of 2004, among other things, I received that album and the first Killzone on PS2. Well, I listened to that album over and over again while playing through the game and bow the two are just permanently connected in my brain. It's been 20 goddamn years and every time I hear any songs from that album, I start thinking about a firefight in a field of cherry blossoms.
Black Tide's Shout immediately brings me back to playing Dirt 2.
I know most people think GnR for obvious reasons, but when I think of Burnout Paradise, more think Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne or Stand and Deliver by Adam and the Ants. I think the tempo of those songs was just a better fit for the gameplay.
Flock of Seagulls-I Ran (so far away) 22 years later and that song still immediately takes me back to cruising around Vice City.
Yes. To me that's just one of many that has that affect though.
There are several songs that remind me of Vice City. For me it's Run to You by Bryan Adams.
Ace of Spades - Tony Hawk
That foundry demo from THPS3 is ingrained in my memory lol
Blitzkrieg Bop as well.
For me it's bring the noise that does the same thing
Short change hero - Borderlands 2
Alicia Keys - Girl on Fire for 3 sadly. I can't stand the song
I also don’t like that song so I actually started laughing at the ending of 3 because it was so cringey during an otherwise sentimental scene.
*Aint no rest for the wicked
It was such a fitting song, borderlands 1 overall is underrated
Is it though. It wasn't as popular as borderlands 2 but it was still a pretty big hit, definitely not what I'd call underrated
Talking about more retrospectively; of all the borderlands games, I hear 1 discussed the least. I could be wrong
Simple and Clean by Hikaru Utada, it’s the Kingdom Hearts song but I had it on repeat for an embarrassing amount of time while playing WoW and now it reminds of that game more than KH. I love the music box version too
I came here looking for this. I still toss it on every note and again.
Blow me away - breaking Benjamin for halo 2.
Oh man. When that song started in that massive hall will be a core gaming memory for me.
I can never remember if it was 2 or 3 love this song, and that scene is burnt into my soul
They fall in line One at a time Ready to play
I really wanna stay at your house - Cyberpunk 2077
That song and Edge runners deeply enhanced my Cyberpunk experience, I can't be the only one.
Riders on the Storm - Need for speed underground 2
Rolling Stones - Paint it Black, is permanently tied to Twisted Metal: Black for me. That was a dope intro.
For me it's Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 because of the trailer of the game. I was so hyped for that I even pre-ordered it. (I don't really pre-order games, especially digital games and that was my first time.)
Gary Jules -Mad World from that Gears of War trailer, hits me everytime man!
The Man Who Sold the World - MGS5
Hall & Oates - Maneater for me. I would have that playing on my attack copter when it mowed people down. "She's a man eater!"
The Midge Ure cover *is* good, but Bowie will always be my guy.
>Bowie will always be my guy. Of course, no question. But the game did violently shift the associasions the song brings to mind!
Ain't No Rest For The Wicked by Cage The Elephant for Borderlands 1 Short Change Hero by The Heavy actually has 2 that come to mind for me. 1 is for Borderlands 2, and the other is Batman Arkham City Jerry Was A Race Car Driver by Primus for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 Get Low by Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz for Need For Speed Underground Go by The Chemical Brothers for Crash Bandicoot 4 It's About Time (still 1 of the greatest and multi layered subtitle for any game ever) Edit: Just as I was posting When Worlds Collide by Powerman 5000 for Smackdown vs Raw, came to mind
Lazy Generation - The F-Ups Burnout 3: Takedown
Man that intro went hard
I used to lock in as a kid when this song came on. Those poor cars did not know what hit ‘em
Every time I hear the name Skrillex I immediately think of that song “Make It Bun Dem” and that burning weed mission in Far Cry 3.
This comment is too far down. That scene was just so unexpected but gaming gold. I kept reloading just so I could experience it over and over!
I associate Florence and the Machine's "Stand By Me" with FFXV. But that's mostly because they recorded it ***for*** that game. *When the night has come* *And the land is dark* *And the moon is the only light we'll see* *No, I won't be afraid* *Oh, I won't be afraid* *Just as long as you stand, stand by me*
Amazing cover.
Any Rob Zombie song = Twisted Metal
For me it's Rolling Stones - Paint it black = Twisted Metal: Black
Incidentally whenever I hear Dragula my mind goes to Jet Set Radio where that song plays in the first Grind City stage.
Born to be wild - Rock n Roll Racing
What a callback! That game was so rad.
Mine was Radar Love by Golden Earring for that game. Still enjoy that song.
Snake wins a first place knockout! Grinder comes second Viper takes a weak third Rip is in another time zone!
Twinkle little star....Dead Space.
Godsmack's I Stand Alone always brings back Prince of Persia: Warrior Within memories.
Take On Me: Aha: Saints Row 2 (when it comes on while driving and your character sings along) Holding Out For A Hero: Bonnie Tyler - Saints Row 3 Don't Wanna Miss A Thing: Aerosmith - Saints Row 4 Those games have a habit of sound tracking an awesome dramatic gameplay moment with the perfect song to hype you up for it Edit: formatting

The White Stripes - Seven Nation Army (Glitch Mob remix) Battlefield 1. Also because of it's trailer.

Fallout is forever sponsored by The Ink Spots
Nothing Else Matters (Metallica) and Neverwinter Nights. Just because it is the song I would listen to a lot while playing.
Smashing Pumpkins Adore album is intertwined with F Zero X for the N64. They came out a few months apart and I would listen to the CD while playing the game.

it was a good day-ice cube is san andreas to me
that song that plays in the lobby of chao garden in sonic adventure 2
I will always associate Holiday from Green Day with Tony Hawk Pro Skater. I loved that game and that song.
Fellas, is it weird that "BFG Division" reminds me of "DOOM?"
Gran Turismo. The Cardigans - Loosing my favorite game
Opeth - The Garroter reminds me of Bloodborne.
Born to be wild- Big Mutha Truckers.
