A real quote by Voltaire: *il fait cultiver notre jardin*
"We must cultivate our own garden" which I think you can interpret a few different ways, but to me it means you have to do the work of self-care for yourself, or perhaps your efforts are your own reward. No one else can give that to you (or take it from you).
I have two signs that I'm figuring out where to place: Trespassers will be Composted and It's not hoarding if it's plants.
Neither are "positive" nor negative, but funny to me!
I think it came from a post on Instagram from either Upworthy or Creative Gardening. I found it quite a while ago and did a screen capture on my phone because I loved the message.
I’m not good at puns but wanted to say I’m so happy you found gardening for your mental health! I have as well and it has done so much more for me than many other things I’ve tried! Happy gardening! 🌸🌺
Same here! It's been wonderful for my anxiety, and it teaches patience. You can't force things to grow. Even with all the best fertilizer in the world, you still have to wait. Also, I've found weeding to be a *great* way to relieve frustration.
"I'm rooting for you"
Bee positive, you can dew it, no flowers without rain, you have lots of thyme
If you want flowers, you gotta throw some shit on 'em!
Okay I love this
Everyone blooms in their own time!

I know it has “tend to your own garden” where you need to do self-care/self-improvement over bothering others.
Peas be with you
This should have more likes
"It's thyme to turnip the beet!"
A dirty hoe is a happy hoe.
Similarly, "dream of whirled peas".

Or "trespassers will be given a 30min lecture on gardening" lol
I just finished deadheading my rhododendron. They're gonna get an earful!
Life’s a garden - dig it!
I used to be seedy but I've grown out of it, is a sign I have in mine lol

"To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow." (Apologies if someone already posted this.)
I've got a bunch of stake signs from home depot. They say things like: bee happy, take the thyme, etc.
“Old gardeners never die, they just spade away “

I love puns! Here for a good thyme. I’m kind of a big dill. You are one in a melon. It’s mint to be. I wet my plants and soil myself.
Heaven on Earth.
Trespassers will be composted
Don't mind weeds, they feed the bees.
Two green thumbs up!
Bloom where you're planted, Life began in a garden
Till next time!

Grow where you’re planted If speaking kindly to plans helps them grow, imagine what speaking kindly to yourself could do.
I have ‘Glads all over’ and ‘Make my day lilies’
If you are a guy: "I will be a symbiotic fun guy."
This is for the birds (next to bird feeders or bird baths.
I came up with "I don't give a hoot" for the birds
Not original, saw recently: “I don’t know who needs to see this but you’re a great gardener. The plants should have tried harder”
Give peas a chance.
I just wet my plants!
Shit! Great stuff grows out of it !
Our local garden center has a sign up that says "Gardners have the best dirt" and I just love it.
1. Give peas a chance. 2. If you can’t be the sharpest tool in the shed you can always be the hoe.
