They were all bottoms I feel like the writers never thought about that or they were the only people they had.
And being young, gay, and mean is not a personality.
If I remember correctly, first dude was the most conventionally cute and he was disappointed with the other ones as well, regretting his choice. They all made fun of him on the bus.
MTVs hit reality game show "Next", the apex of 90's and early 2000s horrible acting. I don't remember for sure, but I think this was the only gay episode. There might have been a lesbian themed one.
It was a dating show where you could pass on someone at any point to go onto the next person. Think Tinder but with face to face drama.
Also my back hurts now holy fuck I'm old
I think there were a couple more gay episodes, and there was definitely a lesbian one. The other catch is that each minute or second, I can't remember which, of the date, a dollar gets added to a bank. At the end, the contestant would choose whether they wanted to continue to see the person, or if they wanted to take the money and run.
Again, the show was a mess with horrible writing, just like Date My Mom and Room Raiders. But I feel like I remember the Date My Mom gay guys actually being attractive. There was also another show where the parent hated their kids boyfriend or girlfriend, so they would find a new person for their kid to date, and after the date, the kid would choose between the current person they're dating, or the person their parent chose.
Yooo Room Raiders, Date My Mom, and Paris Hiltons New BFF were my go-tos growing up. Used to clean up every day just because I was convinced I was gonna get Raided lul
No idea how my parents were blindside by the whole "gay" thing
Imagine a Parental Control Recap? Bring back the ORIGINAL contestants to see if the parents were right! Ugh. The show was a train wreck but I couldn't stop watching.
Always sucks to have a conventionally hot gay guy friend, watch men of all types literally throw themselves at him (of which he chooses NONE of them), just for him to whine and bitch and moan about being tired of being single while never giving anyone a chance ever.
I had one of those.
I ended up dropping him as a "friend" because, in the end, I realized he only wanted validation of "being wanted" and I was enabling that by being the listener of his complaints.
Life is too short for self-absorbed narcissistic people.
I was gonna say they should bring back this show for some junk food level entertainment but the gay version would be nothing but text bubbles.
Or even more realistic (maybe too real) the contestants declare NEXT after smooshing
My favorite line from one episode had a guy finally choose the last person on the bus and when he asked him out the response was, "you're not the first person I kissed today, and you won't be the last one either..." after having kissed all the other boys on the bus.
The way that it's always the uglee gays that have the audacity to live into the mean gay architectype in my area. 😂 Like sis look at yourself in the mirror. You're not one to be making and having unrealistic expectations.
why let anyone script a life? I swear look at each person involved... booboo josh all the k js tiny home people nj snore even the psychic lady from jersey. she coulda at least got some ghostly help for herself... heck starting with the warrenrs who did exorcisms

It was the early 2000s, media thought gay could only be one type of personality lol
It’s 2024, and a lot of gays seem to think it’s an acceptable personality 😂
Nice Big Mouth quote haha
Haha, yes! A lot of gays still don't learn that.
You mistook my weak handshake. It's just disinterest.

This was such a savage show at times.
The straights were this cruel. That was the point, I think.
I remember watching one ep where a guy dismissed every girl the moment she showed up in bus door
Green shirt guy is fucking ugly though
Inside and out
The propped up collar tells so much
It was like 2004, that was in style lmaooo
He looks like a robot torso that someone attached human arms, legs, and a head to.
If I remember correctly, first dude was the most conventionally cute and he was disappointed with the other ones as well, regretting his choice. They all made fun of him on the bus.
What.. the hell was this

That last one was Parental Control. Absolute garbage. I miss it dearly.

I think I internalized it somewhat, I didn’t introduce a bf to my parents until I was thirty.
The gay episodes were usually very cute.
I think they had quite a few gay episodes. Ahead of its time fr

If he’s not perfect he’s not for me 🪄
Early 2000s was really a dripless era
Puka shell necklaces walked so that silly bands could run
Imagine having your collar popped and calling someone else a loser.
It was a different time back then
Part of the popped collar aesthetic was also being a douchebag. They were part and parcel.
"Back then" Making me feel old here 😭 Nah, even then- we all knew dudes with popped collars were dork ass losers.
Nah bro I don't even get to the handshake. Guy sees me, shakes his head and mouths ugly and walks away.
Side note, "manly" handshakes are so weird. Straight men aren't satisfied unless they're trying to crush your bones.
The stereotypical slamming dance music in the background. It's like a giant cliche, this show.
BRING THIS SHOW BACK 12 YEAR OLD ME LOVED THIS SHIT
if you feel like reliving it, brutalmoose made a fantastic video on it. [here](https://youtu.be/ifx-s4Vz7W8?si=w9E8W94zMe7p9qTT)
pretty much he is a bottom and thats his way to detect bottoms.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LKua7cDR8-M
They need to bring this back just for the messiness of it all. 😭 😭
Didn't the narrator then say "I'm sure the other boys on the bus can help him strengthen his wrist" or something?

Something about this interaction just playing out on a giant, empty field is so fucking funny
