No idea where you're getting your information from, but saying "many of those STIs can still be transmitted even if condoms are used" is misleading. It implies that there's no point in using condoms because you'll just get STIs anyway, which just isn't true. The only STIs that you're likely to catch while using a condom are those transmitted via skin-to-skin contact, such as herpes or syphilis. However, condoms are still effective in preventing transmission of herpes and syphilis if the infected site (the ulcer) is covered. It is still possible to catch any STI while using condoms as no contraceptive method is 100% safe, but it reduces the risk significantly, even for herpes and syphilis. Please don't act like condoms are a useless tool. Safe sex is sexy.

This is my experience too. Condoms hurt when I bottom. I can't stay hard with them on when I top. I thought anal was overrated until I had sex bb. It was then that I understood that skin to skin makes a difference. I cannot go back now, so I use other methods to reduce risk like being on PrEP, having FWBs that I know are also on PrEP (aka they have to test regularly), finding partners that are not having a lot of sex with a lot of different guys, not having a lot of sex w/ a lot of guys myself, and asking for test results. Make those conversations as open and non-judgmental as possible. If a guy were to theoretically give me an STI (I've not had any yet), I do not shame him or anything. I just get tested and treated. No hard feelings. I also have all of the above vaccines. One can reduce risk while avoiding condoms. There is always a risk, but we have the right to choose how to engage in our sex lives. Educating yourself, communicating with your partners, and having autonomy are important. If a guy says he's condoms only, then I offer to do oral/frottage since I've yet to meet a guy that wears condoms for that. Otherwise, I kindly say we are not a fit and find someone else. They also have the right to choose how to have sex.
