White women is imo the easiest hard demon, but if the lightning road and the nightmare are your only demons, then I really suggest doing at least clubstep cause those demons fit in the category of "free demons" and you might have more difficulty in doing it
No, not even close. There are many old and very old hard demons with not many downloads that are miles easier. But since this sub seems to have a phobia of old levels and and mildly memory based gameplay, on top of being obscure levels in general, nobody brings them up. I'd recommend Paranormal to OP, as it's a personal favorite of mine. Extreme Park is also completely free. I beat it in less than an hour, and I'm terrible at the game.

Here is a list of hard demons I find very easy (from easiest to hardest, but skillsets range):
1. Extreme park by rabbitical. It's so easy for a hard demon, barely any timings, and the ship section is free. It's memory based & an old level, so it may be a challenge for some, but if that's your strong suit definitely go for it. You will beat this faster than most medium demons.
2. The Antarctic Man by superSNSD. Another old level. It's a mix of memory and timings, with 1 tricky ship segment during the calm part of polargeist (the song it uses). It isn't that fun to play, but still way too easy to be a hard demon
3. Megalovania by Airswipe or whatever they're called now. It's a decent difficulty jump from the previous 3, but it's still quite easy imo. Do note that it's made in early 2.0, and makes constant use of moving objects. It's a boss level, so you can decide if that's your thing or not
4. Silent Hill by MaJacko. It's VERY ugly, but entirely memory based. You can decide yourself if you wanna take it on
5. Definite Integral by Rabbitical (again). It's basically extreme park but harder. Idk why you'd do this instead of that but whatever
6. White Women by heatherhayes. It's memory with some decently difficult gameplay. If you want u can try it but at this point it seems unreasonable to jump to from the lightning road and the nightmare.
7. TOE II V2 By neptune. This placement is VERY subjective, as there is a horrible wave part at the drop that can easily screw you up. I miraculously fluked it so I wouldn't know.
I'd suggest beating a few harder easy demons, or maybe even a medium demon first before attempting any of these tho. GL champ!!
I also recommend Bicycle, there are some choke points but it's mostly free. Element 1 H was my first hard demon. It's also pretty easy but has some hard cube timings timings and sometimes you can make the UFO part towards the end go completely dark if you follow a specific trajectory.
This is the answer. Every single input is a hold except some of the start and a few near the end. There are no timings, just some memory. Much easier than all others
I don't see why they shouldn't, honestly. Obviously jumps aren't for everyone but some people like to take a leap forward and in the long run it could be better than slow progress. I jumped from Nine Circles to Poltergeist, then did another jump to Acu without beating any extra insane demons and it helped me a lot

Paranormal by ZenthicAlpha is an old memory demon. It's rated hard but should probably be medium demon. Really good level if you just want something easy for a hard demon, after the memorization the level gets very consistent and the last 20% is pretty free
My first was Temple of Time, which is fairly easy and imo very close to the border between medium and hard.
Beat a few other easy demons first though before you even think about trying a hard demon, probably do a medium or two as well.
Jawbreaker is definitely easier than nine circles. Just a few awkward parts but it's very straightforward. Some people find nine circles easier, so it's a matter of what you think.
Since you want to surprise your friends, it'd be good going for nine circles or jawbreaker because they're really popular. I've never even heard of some of the hard demons some people in the comments have provided.
Though it depends, do you want it to be like "Hey I uh, beat a hard demon" or "I just beat Jawbreaker"

Bloodroom is a good Hard Demon to start with, this level gets frustratingly hard towards the end. You will learn not to choke at the end of difficult and long levels.
Dak is a good one, timings aren’t too hard but the gameplay can be learny

Solevoy. It's incredibly new, but I beat it in a few hundred attempts, making it my first hard demon. The intro is super free, with a balanced ship and cube part. The spider part that follows is free as fuck. The drop is a little bit learny, and in the second half, there's a red orb timing that's basically rng (it's fairly easy to pass tho) then theres a bunch of easy mini cube and a somewhat easy ufo part at the end. All this to a banger creo song.
I'm not sure if this is hard demon anymore but if it isn't, I recommend picking up Demonic Realms. Good hard demon with a bossfight, learny sections, and a little bit timing based but it's really fun when you learn it.
Katapult, The Nightmare Road, Black Out, Dry Fake are some really easy hard demons, although I will not be surprised if they are no longer hard demons but I won't bother checking
Temple of time by Davjt is very easy, i fluked it from 53, fiee temple by michigun is pretty easy but has some weird stuff and jawbreaker is very easy and was my first hard ddemon
Not sure if this is easy but Double Dash. Only nerve control and the ending should be your worries unless you are like Mulpan and have nightmares of duals.

Whatever you do, dont go for NIne Circles. I had jumped from easy demons to NC, and it sucked balls. I died past 80 around 20 times, spent over 4000 attempts, and died at 94% and cried. Go for Jawbreaker if you're pretty good at wave. Took me around 2000 attempts, beat it right after NC, and had a great time with it. Overrall a really fun level to go for, especially if you're hanging out with friends and playing it (i beat it with 2 friends over at my house, helped relax me)
Don't do a nine circles level because they're really inconsistent. So you have a 10% of fluking it and 90% of dying to the end of the wave a million times. No in-between. I jumped from The Lightning Road to Future Funk and my experience was overall pretty enjoyable but a lot of people don't like that level.
Death Step , PG Clubstep, and Darkness Keeper I've found to be some of the easiest hard demons. Also, if you're really good at memorization, you can try Doomsday II.

Oh yeah Extreme Park is free, especially at lower level Hard disagree on TOE II V2, I found that one to be Mid-high Hard
