Mid 30s. Been into them for about a decade. I’ve seen people in their 50s at their shows and kids as young as 7 or 8. Always a huge variance

CheezyCatFace

I haven’t seen them live yet, but have tickets for my family this fall. Is it going to be odd with us having an 8 & 9 year old there?

WindWalkerWalking

I don’t think so. I’ve found their crowds to be pretty chill compared to other artists. Like people are pretty nice and considerate. Every show may have a knucklehead or two but I’ve actually never seen anyone like that at their shows. I tend to do pit and made my way to the front so worst I ever get is the occasional dancer bumping into me.

CheezyCatFace

Excellent. I’ve taken them to other shows but it was bands more associated with kids. We have seats so if they get overstimulated they can chill (and I’ll be recovering from surgery) but I wasn’t sure how many judgey glances we might be looking forward to.

petebrand9

Was gonna say pit tickets would be a bad idea but yeah no if you're seated you should be perfectly fine. You're likely to get at least one person smoking weed nearby at some point depending on the venue but other than that is pretty kid friendly

heygriffin

We brought our 9 year old with us to the Pappy show and she had a lot of fun. Got a giggle from Dave because she was making heart signs to him and Drew gave her a wave a few times during the set.

CheezyCatFace

Thats great! She’ll always remember that! We’ll be at Red Rocks so i doubt the boys will be that lucky, but they just love the music

ChrisInSpaceVA

The Dreamland tour was one of our boys' first shows at ages 7 and 9. They had a blast! Just be sure to bring pair of good ear plugs for each of them.

TequilaNut

I don't think it will be odd. Seen them live in 2022 and seen quite a few children around that age. Crowd was very chill and considerate. My fiance proposed at the concert and everyone around us gave us space and congratulated us, it was awesome! Of course you'll see ones that are on drugs or drank a little too much but all in all I'm sure your family will have a great time!

Bry_Mac

33. Zaba came out in our 20s.

red58010

What I wouldn't do to attend a zaba tour

FutureMrsConanOBrien

It was perhaps one of the best nights of my life.

darkerpoole

I cried. Saw them and peak Head and the Heart at the same show.

master0jack

It was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. We have been waiting to see them again since then - show cancelled during covid and finally got tix for September!!!

red58010

😭

Sooofreshnsoclean

Yup! I remember getting into them in my early 20’s after hearing them in my local independent radio station. Rip cd101 found a lot of good indi music from them

francisceva

I’m 25, Zaba came out when I was 15 and that was perfect timing for me. It’s probably my most listened to album of all time and will forever be. I got to see them live a few times in tiny venues around 2014-2015 and have some great memories :)

bigbadpandita

Yup. I’m also 33

dtank88

35. Lolla 2015 was my first show

katylu

64 and have seen them in concert multiple times, going again for my 65th bday!! One of my two fav bands

tab2058

What’s your other favorite?? I’m dying to know!

katylu

Professorprick for the win, yes it’s the Foo Fighters. Cant tell you how many times I have seen them.💕

threebboyz

I worked with a guy in his 50's who had been to dozens of foo shows. Swore I'd never see a better show. Finally was Foocified in 2012. Holy moly was he right...

katylu

The best show ever, until GA came along! I love them both so much and they are so different

ProffesorPrick

Just based on their prior comments about Taylor Hawkins, I think Foo Fighters could be the other. Rest in peace!

katylu

I’m sorry I misspelled your name, don’t hate me.

LaylaBird65

My husband and I are in our 40’s, we’ve been listening to them since 2013. Our kids are 14, 12 and 8 and they adore them too

GeronimoJak

They've been around for over a decade at this point, but their breakout was on heatwaves like a whole year and a bit after Dreamland already came out. Most of us were here from the early stuff when we were in our 20s because it was very different from what was being played then, and still is. So that makes sense.

Necom123

25, been listening since gooey was being promoted by Spotify in 2014

hoggteeth

Same

Gooey was also my first song!

Few-Hedgehog-8246

I should add that my first show was in a tiny Brooklyn, NY venue back in 2016. Amazing experience, kind of hard to beat. But I’m still going to see them at MSG.

Ok_Menu7659

I’d say the age range of people at shows has changed especially after COVID and heat waves. 8 years ago as a 30 year old there’s definitely seemed to be a lot of mid twenties fans who had listened for years then. Now those fans are mid thirties but the concerts I went to after COVID definitely had kids that looked like babies. So basically heatwaves brought back the super young fans as it was a massive alt pop rock radio hit (really its own genre but I’ll call it that). So now we got teeny boppers and their parents as well as everyone inbetween! It’s cool that it’s such an age diverse crowd, not a lot of bands have that and most that do seem to fall into the classic rock category.

scran_dog

I'm 18

turkeyvulturebreast

49, saw them at a small club, <500/ppl venue in D.C., Feb 2020, and I laughed at how I could be most of the people’s father at this event. Not that I cared, just that it skewed way younger than I expected. And the concert was an absolute fucking BLAST! We sat in the back on the only stools in the venue, lol. And they surprised played Gooey on the back bar where we got front view bc we were sitting directly across where Dave popped out. Hands down one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. And the crowd was all amped up, but super chill and made for such a beautiful time. I also got the song list from the guy running the boards bc we sat to the right of him. Now that they have gotten so big I don’t think I will ever have this experience again.

ChrisInSpaceVA

Was it at U St Music Hall? I miss that place.

turkeyvulturebreast

Yes, that was the place. It’s sad to hear it closed. I guess it was a byproduct of covid?

ChrisInSpaceVA

Unfortunately, yes. They still do U St Music Hall branded shows but they hold them at the 9:30. Hopefully, they are just keeping the name alive until they can find a new space.

Just turned 50. Loved them since I first heard Gooey on the radio

27. I found Zaba on Pandora as a 19yo college freshman.

eneko8

HTBAHB came out later that year.

BuddyTheElf24

I got into Glass Animals because my 47 year old dad listened to them! Just depends on what kind of music you’re into I suppose

eternaldaydream_

I’m 26, been listening since I was 18!

Outrageous-Throat556

Literally same as me haha

hind3rm3

47, been listening since Zaba. I heard Black Mambo on the radio during a trip to Scotland in 2013. I might have the dates wrong, it could have been 2014.

tab2058

I’m 38. Been into them for well over a decade

coffeecomp

Mid 20s. I found them later in high school when HTBAHB was released. Dreamland coming out during the pandemic when I was (remotely) in my final semesters of college was extremely cathartic for me :)

SimplySorbet

20, but I got into them at 13 or 14. Crazy to think I’ve liked them for that long 😅

ExplanationLow2089

GA has been around for a while. They have a lot of fans in their late 20s and in their 30s. But after Heatwaves, I think it now leans more young 20s... maybe even teens. The more people find their music, the better, regardless of age, imo

_Pill-Cosby_

54. Absolutely loved their first record but not really into any of the ones since as their sound shifted a bit more commercial. Been to one show and the crowd was definitely younger than me.

krobie77

26, been listening since around 2016

repwatuso

48. Male from the United States. Fell in love with the music at first listen. We had a local alternative music station that played a couple from ZABA. Got to see them once as well when they toured the states. It was my teenage daughters first concert. Glass Animals were the first band that we both had in common.

sipthissmoothair

That’s dope you bonded over it

29. Been a fan for a decade or so. I think Dreamland brought a lot of younger people into the fandom, but they’ve had a super committed fan base for the better part of 10 years.

I’m 49 and love em - I probably first saw them at Austin City limits 2017. So good

tht1bndchck

I'm 33. My son is 13 and we are both fans! So I'd say there is a good variety of fans out there!

ChrisInSpaceVA

GA is a family favorite. Adults in their 40s, kids ranging from 9 to 20s. We all love them!

clxzsrz

15 here!

Pechorine

31. Lol love how everyone's on here flexing "Been listening from the very first day the band was even formed" Ngl I started listening in 2019 😂

1012pika

I’m on the younger end of that. I just turned 20 and I was 15 when I found them!! Their music helped me out of high school lol

I-am-a-visitor-heere

19, discovered them via heat waves in 2020

sipthissmoothair

What an engaging question. Glass Animals has always captured new fans at different life stages, so there are plenty in their 30s-60s, and teens who just started listening. Even loyal fans aren’t necessarily on Reddit or discord or going to concerts, regardless of age. Their newer work seems to have attracted more in the younger demo than their first album, but part of that is the evolution of their sound and where it’s consumed. See: Heat Waves and TikTok.

superorganisms

26. Listened to Zaba in 2016, when I was 18. Became obsessed with them immediately.

High schooler! Loved them for years upon years.

CertainFutures

45 and 42. Seen them live twice, both times at Red Rocks. The crowd was definitely mixed but I’d say half the audience were in the 20s. We’re not going this year because I feel the crowd base has gotten even younger.

i’m 20 started listening at age 17, no i’m not one of the stupid dsmp kids that got introduced through heat waves. my best friends sister loves them and showed us tangerine, was hooked after that.

HugYourDogForMe

I’m 28, nearly 29. Gooey popped up on my pandora shortly after zaba came out and I’ve been hooked. Although I did think Dave was a woman when I initially heard gooey 😂

HugYourDogForMe

Saw them in OKC solo a couple years ago on the dreamland tour. One of my favorite shows ever

chickentender666627

Im 35

Cakejudge32O7

I'm 32 but I've introduced the show to 40-somethings that had never heard of them before and they absolutely fell in love with GA, and even my stereotypical classic rock dad likes them, so they're picking up new fan demographics all the time.

Formal-Range-699

I’m 57. Going to see them at The Gorge Amphitheater in September. I was worried i would be the oldest person there, but perhaps not!

jkadidas21

Love the age range! I just turned 40 but have been a fan for almost a decade. They’re my #1. Don’t feel like an outlier now hearing everyone else’s age 😄

VenusHumanitas

16, i’ve know them for like..4 or 5 years, just before dreamland came out.

'older' being over 30 is hilarious. JFC.
