I think it's more complicated than that. He's an older forward, turns 34 this season, so it could be he's asking for too much term. There are also desperate teams out there who will be willing to overpay for a productive forward with playoff experience, so he's more valuable to them then he is to the VGK. Personally, anything over 7.5 is too high for Vegas, but I could see him getting 8.5+ from other teams. Marchy has been making comments about money since Stone joined the team, so I know he's looking to get paid.

What I'll really miss is the way Bruce Cusick announces Marchessault's name after a goal.
