I had to adjust mine to start hitting it well, especially with the stock shaft. I lowered the loft to 8° and fell in love with mine! Don't give up on it!

I agree with you. He could also try rotating the shaft so the white lines are not aligned. This will help find better shaft flex, almost like Pureing the shaft.

As everyone else said, this is a great deal. I would try and track down the AW for this set if you don't have it though, because there's a 15* gap between the PW (41*) and the SW (56* ).

OP, if you are reading this, they actually made both an AW (46⁰) and a GW (51⁰) in this set. Tough to get hold of now, I'm sure, but they are available if you're like me and would be annoyed at 2 clubs not matching the rest of the set.

I had an almost full set of Mavriks at one point and I can tell you I spent a whole lot more for them than you did. May I suggest picking up an A or G wedge because the gap between the P and S is pretty huge.

I'm so jealous. I've always coveted the Nike Sumo set with the hybrids and the absurdly loud square driver. I was going to use it as a psy-op against my golf partner who always smokes me. Can't hit so good with permanent hearing loss! The whole thing plus irons was on marketplace for 100 bucks and I missed it. Now I'll have to learn to fix my swing or some other ridiculous nonsense instead.

That set with the hybrids is still $999 as the on sale price with Golf Galaxy. Also what I play currently. Loft jacking to the max but I just adjusted and it’s not issue and at 88mph swing speed I’m fine with that, ha.

Definitely an extremely solid pickup for the cost, amigo… I’ve always gone secondhand, with the cost of new, compared to used. Doesn’t really make sense not to, unless you have that unlimited bank account and price doesn’t matter. Even then, I think I’d still be grabbing secondhand. There’s always a guy who buys the newest shit each and every year, thinking their game will improve with the equipment. There’s always someone that simply doesn’t like the set they purchased, so they move on to something else. Shit, some years back, getting back into golf after a 15+ year hiatus, I started searching secondhand sets, doing the research, being patient. I came across a set of Callaway X20’s that were literally brand new, and I was happier than a pig in shit, even though they were outdated. I was blown away with what I got, for the price I got them for. I believe I paid right around what you did. The technology really doesn’t evolve as much as people think. Every now and again the technology makes a giant leap forward. A set of Mavriks like that, how recent they are, you have nothing to worry about with them potentially being antiquated. Now that I’ve spent entirely too much time on an unnecessarily long response, do this. Go search for a full set of Mavriks, Sand to Driver. Not only will you not find a full set for purchase, but I bet just a driver is close to $250. You did real good, homie. Enjoy!

How'd you do? Better than anyone should ever do, that's how! I bought the Mavrik driver at the beginning of the year for $250 by itself, although mine was new, not much can really go wrong except maybe some sky marks or small chipped paint. Crazy good deal, and I love my driver! It's sneaky long and very forgiving.

You did incredibly well there for $250. My full set of mavericks (bought 2 years ago) were in the neighborhood of $1500. I absolutely love the clubs. 3W I hit really well, same with the 4H. Only thing I would warn you about is, assuming everything is stock, you've got a big gap between the PW and the SW. PW is 41⁰, SW is 56⁰. Enjoy them!

If those are the standard mavriks, the lofts are jacked. The PW is a 41 degree and the SW is a 46. Just informing you if you wanted to add additional wedges to the set. You would probably want 50, 54, 58. They are great clubs and you got a steal of a deal.
