You just repeatedly whack it with a round hammer

Recommend ball ping hammer. Make them mor circular. Even better if you have dome punches

I had the head off the clubs, put double side tape on the face and used the peen side of a small ball peen hammer to hit the area you want with that effect. That’s not the best pic but it comes out really cool. You could probably do it with the heads on on the edge of a work bench or something, I just happened to have the clubs apart

I replaced my ferrules on my current set. They look fantastic but I will never do it again as it’s too time consuming getting all the old epoxy out of the heads.

Personally not a fan but you do you. To me, it looks cheap, like a kids set of golf clubs. I don’t think it’s the color, it’s the size. If the ferrules were the same color but a normal size, they would look less like megablocks and more like a splash of stylistic color on one’s clubs.

All valid points, I have iron sets that are classy, simple, boring. Don’t have any colorful in your face stuff. Grips are plain Jane ect. Plus I’ve always been the type to do what ever suits my impulse at the moment. This scores me a few things, learned how to do it, gave me something to do for an hour to zone out after work and for me a fun pop of color on some irons I wasn’t using. I completely understand that there will be a pretty solid division of Love it vs hate it folks.

I hope it improves your game or your enjoyment of it then. If this helps you forget about a shitty day at work, have at it and own it. Hell, go bigger. Chew up more time. Make the ferrule extend all the way to your grip and stare the nay sayers in the face while you swing away and pure it down the fairway.

It’s pretty straight forward, at the worst your out some epoxy, $40-50 and a few hours. None of it is permanent if you don’t like the results.

Yes, heads have to come off. But it’s not as bad as you think. $20 butane torch and some 2 part epoxy and a few tools. Pretty hard to fuck up.

100%. It’s more intimidating than a regrip but not any more complicated. Hell. Doing good looking paintfill has a steeper learning curve

Personally not a fan, but yep good work on the DIY effort knowing you can chop and change or totally redo if don't like the results, and knowing you don't need specific special 'golf glue epoxy ' for ferrules/ heads. As long as the 2part epoxy has the torque strength any brand will do 👍👍

I watched a few of the “mobile club maker” YouTube videos. Wasn’t too bad, the sanding after epoxy was the most important step. I made a few mistakes on the first one, but learned a shit load. All in all not to bad with some simple tools.

Did you reweigh and balance the clubs? I watched a video that showed changing the tip weights out. Have the ferrules sitting at home but not sure about that step

No, gram for gram the new verses old are nearly identical. Not enough weight change to feel, or matter.

It will not. They are almost purely cosmetic. Only issue would be someone not correctly attaching the heads to the shaft afterwards, but that’s an entirely different issue. So, Change ‘em up! Add some color to your swing!

Hey mate, new ferrules looking sharp! I’ve just ordered some from bb&fco just waiting on delivery. I had a quote from a couple local fitting stores to just do the ferrules change for me and I’ve been quoted £20 per club and another at £130 so at those sorts of prices I’m probably going to have a go myself. Have watched a few YouTube videos on how to do it and seems fairly simple but would be great if you could share your learnings as watch outs for when I do it? Thanks

Did you use a belt sander? Trying to figure out if I need to get a Harbor Freight one for $50 for the occasional reshafts that I do, and I have a set of shafts that I may rebuild with some Takomo or Malibu heads and BBFs as a project.

I did mine by hand with a few 10” cuts of sand paper.

I think it looks pretty damn cool but I think I'd find that color distracting standing at address.

I like them. I do think the ferrules colour would look better on a coloured composite shaft. But they still look okay on the steel.

Thanks. Traditionally I have a kaleidoscopic Easter egg fit happening so this colorway works nicely for me. I do a fair amount of builds for friends and members, if you're going to get in to building may as well have some fun with it.

The color isn’t my cup of tea but I love that you did it. I feel like a new hobby has just been unlocked and I’ll go much deeper than I need to into this rabbit hole.

They are made by SwingRight and sold on Etsy/EBay. Sure are. Had a customer bring me a set this month. Opened them up and the smelled like straight acetone. When putting the second one on, the top 1/3 popped off, and he came over to the shop. Laughed, and said throw on the Menthe by BB&F.
