There is logic in understanding markups as well.
It always baffles me when others with money refuse to acknowledge they have it and can afford to waste a little bit of it. Pretending like a $200 belt cost more than $11.50 to manufacturer, ship, and display is just insulting.
That's not what he said. The belt brand is called Smathers and Branson and they cost the same exact price without any Master's branding: https://www.smathersandbranson.com/collections/belts
two is good enough for me, I work from home and got a headcover for the golf bag, don’t want to blast the logo every time I go play golf with a polo too
3 hats for me, the rest for coworkers/family that requested
Hats = causal, gym, golf
I wear hats more often
also hats are only $32 vs a polo starts at $95
I did the math in another comment here but as someone who spent their fair share in the shop on Wednesday. I came to $1,675 before tax ($1,817 after) and a bare minimum of $1,500.
first time, and I actually got them from a friend, gave his kid a gift and he thanked me by offering a set of practice day tickets at the Masters that he receives each year
As someone who went on Wednesday, my estimate is:
$32 per hat x10 - $320
$35 per t shirt x5 - $175
~$75 per sweatshirt/hoodie/polo x5 - $375
$75 belt
$20 ball markers
$5 coozie x2 - $10
~$30 tray
~$30 gold towel/headcover x2 - $60
Average ~$35 per cup/mug/etc. x14 $400-490ish
Didn’t see backpack prices but for the big one maybe $90 and the cinch bag maybe $30?
Total: ~$1,675 before tax + 8.5% = $1,817
Confidently he dropped $1,500 min
OP, don’t listen to the haters. This is an awesome haul!! Golf lovers understand & we, along with all 6 of our kids watch every year. This year we even talked about how much we’d each be willing to spend on merch & I can tell you we approve of how you’ve decided to spend your own money. Our 23yo business owner son said he’d put away $2k in preparation, so lots of us get it 😂👊🏻
there are 4 options:
1. Carry around with you at the tournament
2. Make the hike back to the car and drop off, the tournament badge provides one extra re-entrance for if/when you go to the car.
3. Leave at their complimentary bag drop off-pickup area if there is any space (full by 9am)
4. Ship via FedEx, immediately after checking out from the main shop, swing by next door and you can ship your stuff, ~$100 to ship from Georgia to California
Dunno if theres room for all of this(doubtful) but ive heard theres lockers outside the merch tent you can use, they know people are gonna spend this much after all lol
Why do you need all of this? What’s more valuable; your merch that will be gone or your time that you spent there? I’m starting to think that people go to the Masters now just to shop. 🤷♂️
Maybe OP has waited his whole life to attend the masters, gets a ticket, and *saves his own money to spend it how he wants* on memorabilia. A grown person can do whatever they want with their own money.
You sound like the green eyed monster came for a visit.
This looks like when you start a new job and they send you tons of shit with their logo on it and you go “where am I going to store all these tumblers? I don’t need another tumbler for as long as I live”.
That’s a way to create a new identity. “Who’s that over there?”
That’s Master’s Jim.
“Oh, did he play in it or something?”
No, he just couldn’t stop buying stuff at the Master’s store.
Everything is well priced in person, as if you were shopping at your local Dick’s Sporting Goods,
hats $32
sweatshirt $85
polos $70+
mugs $18
tervis $18
etc.
sorry , I assumed you meant the packaged hoodie on the bottom left side, if you mean the open folded hoodie on the bottom middle, yes that is Peter Millar, lighter weight / dri-fit material

I gotta admit, I truly don't understand the merch craze at the Masters. I totally get snagging an item or two, but spending multiple thousands of dollars to plaster yourself, your golf bag, and coffee table with Masters logos, an event you simply attended as a fan, has always been lost on me, but I know I'm probably in the minority given they do $70M in merch in one week.
I'm not trying to be that guy.. but this is why we are in the position we are in in this country. 2-3 generations now of people wanting more more more more
Sweet haul, and sweet way to spend a mortgage payment.
Is that an Augusta rolling tray at the bottom? Does not seem on brand but im all for it
It’s just a trayyyyyy, now what you choose to do with it… is in your discretion 🤫
Nahhh that price tag definitely says rolling tray on it haha
Did a double take at that. I would truthfully overpay an embarrassing amount for that tray
With this haul, I’d say it’s more of a Hollywood tray 👃
Idiot
Lol wtf?
What is this reply? It's clearly a rolling tray.
“Everything is reasonably priced.” -op Also op, buying a $200 belt..
Reasonably priced as in not marked up over MSRP, as if you bought from a regular Dick’s Sporting Goods There is logic is understanding.

There is also logic in not being an idiot on the internet
Okay but that is the same with almost every good you buy…. capitalism?
Yes but fashion markups are the most egregious examples.
And you’re giving it all away to a random commenter!
Lil over the top 🫠
Serious lack of polos
two is good enough for me, I work from home and got a headcover for the golf bag, don’t want to blast the logo every time I go play golf with a polo too
LMAO, two polos is enough, but nine hats? Perfectly fine...
Hats are easier to buy as gifts than shirts. No sizes for the most part.
3 hats for me, the rest for coworkers/family that requested Hats = causal, gym, golf I wear hats more often also hats are only $32 vs a polo starts at $95
y’all must be Millennial or Boomers fr fr
Damn id be like one belt and I’m out. How am I gonna afford all the coors lights I have to pound. Dope haul.
cause beers are only $5
Didn’t they raise it to $6 this year? Or was that just the craft beer?
Facts? Would have expected much more to be honest.
everything sold by the Masters, including tickets, are very reasonably priced, they don’t up charge for any logos
Everything is cheap at the Masters
![gif](giphy|VTxmwaCEwSlZm)
Is the belt Smathers ?
yep - $185
Did you go one or two sizes up on the belt? They seem to fit weird
That’s actually really good for that belt considering it’s smathers and at the Masters
What did that cost in total?
$2k before taxes
I did the math in another comment here but as someone who spent their fair share in the shop on Wednesday. I came to $1,675 before tax ($1,817 after) and a bare minimum of $1,500.
$275 a second.
No Gnomes?
Wow
What was the total bill
~$2.1k after taxes
was this your first time? if so, lottery?
first time, and I actually got them from a friend, gave his kid a gift and he thanked me by offering a set of practice day tickets at the Masters that he receives each year
that's freaking awesome dude kudos to you and your friend!
why is this getting downvoted? lol
My wallet will be forever ready when my opportunity comes
Congratulations on finishing your Christmas shopping!
What was the total $
As someone who went on Wednesday, my estimate is: $32 per hat x10 - $320 $35 per t shirt x5 - $175 ~$75 per sweatshirt/hoodie/polo x5 - $375 $75 belt $20 ball markers $5 coozie x2 - $10 ~$30 tray ~$30 gold towel/headcover x2 - $60 Average ~$35 per cup/mug/etc. x14 $400-490ish Didn’t see backpack prices but for the big one maybe $90 and the cinch bag maybe $30? my mans knows his numbers! Pretty accurate, missing a few in there maybe but overall great estimate
Ok but how many pimento sandwiches did you get?
1… cause it’s nasty and I just don’t care for pimento cheese, but when in Rome…
I had the same opinion of the PC sandwich. I tried a bit because you have to but it was just too much cheese.
I’ve heard you have to pair it with the BBQ sandwich and just stack them together

One of these days I’m gonna win the ticket lotto and be able to post a pic like this. Wish me luck for next year
My wife found a masters jacket in the thrift store for $10

There ya gooooo, I’ve been a long time golf/Masters enthusiast for 15+ years since I was a kid
the belt is a bit much
For a tournament which is all about class, some of this stuff is fairly tacky imo
No doubt. Augusta National merch, maybe, but Masters merch is a bit tacky to go deep on.
Where do you put this stuff while watching the tournament?
there are 4 options: 1. Carry around with you at the tournament 2. Make the hike back to the car and drop off, the tournament badge provides one extra re-entrance for if/when you go to the car. 3. Leave at their complimentary bag drop off-pickup area if there is any space (full by 9am) 4. Ship via FedEx, immediately after checking out from the main shop, swing by next door and you can ship your stuff, ~$100 to ship from Georgia to California
Cool, appreciate the info! Assuming you went with 4?
correct
Dunno if theres room for all of this(doubtful) but ive heard theres lockers outside the merch tent you can use, they know people are gonna spend this much after all lol
What brand of backpack is that? Really nice haul. Only think missing is a bucket hat.
I honestly don’t see a brand tag anywhere on the bag, bucket hat, I’m too asian, makes me look deserving of the rice fields
I bought a pack for grad school and looked into a bunch so I usually recognize them. This one I couldn’t and looks pretty solid.
I want to go to the tournament purely for being able wear some masters hats. I just can’t do it unless I’ve played or been to the course.
Lemme buy a hat off you. Pretty please.
I need the ale glasses!
All those hats and they're all ugly as hell
Why do you need all of this? What’s more valuable; your merch that will be gone or your time that you spent there? I’m starting to think that people go to the Masters now just to shop. 🤷♂️
This is stupid. You’re a grown person.
grown person with my grown choices, grown money, grown Masters experience.
Maybe OP has waited his whole life to attend the masters, gets a ticket, and *saves his own money to spend it how he wants* on memorabilia. A grown person can do whatever they want with their own money. You sound like the green eyed monster came for a visit.
don’t be a hater. i would’ve done the same.. not sure when i would be able to go, but yeah
The only way this makes sense is if they're a dealer or generous to family/ friends and giving 90% of it away.
That’s some sexy merch right there!
A koozie and a rolling tray?!!
Good lord....
You did very well. Now peel me off one of those coffee mugs!
You’re short about 2 dozen ball markers - I gave them all away to friends and family and lasted about a week before they were gone!
That’s actually such a smart small gift, I’ll keep it noted for next time (if I get the glorious chance)
The fuck all that and no garden gnome? Shame.
gotta arrive on the grounds before 7/8am to secure
This looks like when you start a new job and they send you tons of shit with their logo on it and you go “where am I going to store all these tumblers? I don’t need another tumbler for as long as I live”.

good thing I didn’t buy an excess amount stuff for myself, aka gifts
Oh, and now you’re bragging you have friends. 😂
and you’re saying you don’t have family??
Golfers can have families?
Oh, and now you’re bragging you’re a golfer?? 😂 jk jk
Are you a bajillionaire?
Very nice
So, the hat I want online is $80 Does it cost that much in person too or are things cheaper in person?
Most hats were $32. I passed on one and am regretting it, now 90-100ish online.
Everything is well priced in person, as if you were shopping at your local Dick’s Sporting Goods, hats $32 sweatshirt $85 polos $70+ mugs $18 tervis $18 etc.
The hat I wanted was $89 and now it’s $109 🤦🏽
What brand is that golf hoodie? Looks really comfortable
it just says “Masters Collection” and it is certainly Top3 softest hoodies I have
So the guy who said it was Peter Millar is wrong? It kind of does look like one of their hoodies
sorry , I assumed you meant the packaged hoodie on the bottom left side, if you mean the open folded hoodie on the bottom middle, yes that is Peter Millar, lighter weight / dri-fit material
Peter Millar pine performance.
When you get a haul like that…do they let you take to car or what do you do with it? (Obviously, Ive never been in and wondering in case I ever do).
there are 4 options: 1. Carry around with you at the tournament 2. Make the hike back to the car and drop off, the tournament badge provides one extra re-entrance for if/when you go to the car. 3. It’ll be ages before I go, likely, but I have to ask: do they have big & tall sizes for their shirts?
Not sure, didn’t ask tbh but I felt most of the clothing fit bigger than usual
I gotta admit, I truly don't understand the merch craze at the Masters. just call me a hypebeast, cause I am 🤣😉
I'm not trying to be that guy.. but this is why we are in the position we are in in this country. 2-3 generations now of people wanting more more more more
