Bob's parts are really darn weird! I don't believe I could think like that musically.

No_Hovercraft3527

I agree, I learned to play guitar by trying to figure out Bob’s parts, so a lot of his style is sort of written into the DNA of my guitar playing, it’s a really interesting way to approach rhythm guitar

railroadbum71

Yeah, I learned kind of a folk/bluegrass/roots rock way of playing rhythm, so that approach trips me out. I understand what's going on musically, but I would never make those choices, I guess. It's cool as heck, though.

This is great! Well done! :) You will be highly sought after by any GD Tribute band! You should look into that. :)

Awesome and lovely!!! You have short short privileges as far as I’m concerned😊⚡️

I’m honored

Bob is freakin amazing. I love his parts. He plays like Wes Montgomery but in blues/rock/folk/funk

TetonDreams

Great job. I somewhat think of this as Bobby playing lead while Jerry sings. So tasty.

Is all that tone in your fingers or are there things us mortal beings can do with the guitar to get close to that tone? Is that using bridge and middle pickups?

No_Hovercraft3527

Yeah l’m using the bridge and middle, I’m using a battery powered blackstar amp with no additional effects or anything, I have a decent amount of treble and thats a big part of the tone, I definitely think there’s an aspect of technique to it as well, I have a fairly light touch with my right hand and I also use the red jazz 1 picks that Bobby uses and they help balance out the tone by giving me a mellower/warmer sound

Cooperm6

Wonderful. Bob’s playing tickles my brain in the right way and you def captured what I mean

wrkinonit8

Really nice. And such a great song to highlight Bobby’s mellow side

braneworld

Great glassy bobby tone

stupidhuman33

You nailed it dude, his musical approach is so unlike any other rhythm guitarist, I play the Jerry parts in my band and I think I’d be intimidated trying to replicate Bobby’s feel than Jerry’s
