So if you wanna switch from flat to drops…. You gotta have new shifters/levers…. And if you have disk breaks… you gotta bleed your cables and re attach them to the new levers yeah?
Yes. I put JuinTech R1 on my steel bike. Stop great. Just as good as the SRAM hydros on my carbon bike. I only lose some feathering touch but not much. They don’t touch Shimano GRX hydros but are almost on par with Tektro and SRAM.
Shelled out for some Paul Klampers for this exact reason, although finding a decent “rim brake” gravel groupset is getting harder and harder these days
What do y’all put in those gigantor bags that fill the whole frame? It’s a weirdly shaped space and I can’t imagine what would sit in there without making it bulge at the bottom or tip to one side.
Patch kit, some basic tools, a pump, spare tube or two, a jacket, suncream, bike lights, some lunch (snacks and a beer) and a 2.5L water bladder.
Mine has a velcro horizontal divider and two access zips (one halfway up and one at the top) so bulging or packing is never an issue.
Camping gear. In the bottom triangle I hold a small cooking set. On just a normal day I’ll store my lock in the bottom. Top part holds tent poles, pump, snacks, and just miscellaneous stuff. Doesn’t bulge as much as you’d think.

Just couldn’t find the right combo or bar/stem/seat to make this bike feel great with alt bars. I think the geo is more suited as a short reach drop bar bike.
I tried numerous alt bars as well but was never quite happy with any. My perfect solution right now is to run a normal flatbar/riser but with some inner barends. This gives me the best of both worlds actually, flatbars for maximum control and inner barends that are spaced similar to the hoods for the same aerodynamic and comfort as on the hoods.
I'm running my Tramp with a Corner Bar and I'm liking the setup quite a lot.

Ya. It’s a pain and sucks. Makes me want cable brakes.
The Juintech Hydro/Cable brakes have served me very well.
My Hy/Rds are awesome.

Dayum!
Sense returns.

That horizontal divider is key. Without that it’s a mess

Over shorts so you don’t look like a spandex jack wad at the bar post ride
How do you like this bike? I was debating buying the rambler SL.
It’s an amazing bike, so comfortable

Sick. I use the same rattler tape. Looks awesome.
Waaaay more comfortable than it has any right to be.
Really? I kind of hated mine. It didn't feel grippy enough. It did look sweet, though.
Fair. Like saddles, these things are super personal, I suppose.
Who makes it?

Why did you switch back??

I debated the VO Crazy Bars. They do look comfy.
I run the crazy bars on an old Hardrock and they are great!

that bar tape is really nice, what are you using?
Looks like Western rattlesnake bar tape from campandgoslow
It is. They also stock an eastern rattlesnake version on green/blue hues.
Wb
I dig that steampunk look you got going…
Nice looking bike! What’s that front rack of you don’t mind?
So you can run cool bar tape like that. It's worth it.
I love that tape, but dang does it hurt my hands.
