Do yours just kind of stay black like this or do you try to clean it off before using it again? I’ve been soaking it in soapy water but it’s not breaking down the grease much.
That’s what the dishwasher detergent is for. It binds to the grease (lipids) and allows it to either dissolve or emulsify in water. What’s the point in having a dishwasher if you don’t use it?
I see so many people that are afraid of their dishwasher. People washing shit and then putting it in the dishwasher. I scrape my dishes in the trash and immediately put them in the dishwasher. I use powder cheap detergent at the amount recommended by the user manual with some jet dry and my dishes come out flawless. I clean out the removable screen once a week or when buildup occurs. Use your dishwasher.
The best grill cleaning device is some crumpled up aluminum foil.
Tear a sheet off, crumple it up, scrape your grill clean with it, toss in trash. Done.
You're welcome.
Try soaking it in hot water and degreaser. I used to use commercial label purple power to clean pizza ovens and I'm pretty sure simple green is biodegradable.
Didn’t realize that’s the brand, looked it up and seems like a scam or subscription to help fire fighters. First thing an iron scrubbing pad is way cheaper. They are selling the handle and a subscription to buy more iron scrubbing pads.
I've owned one for over a year and have always wondered if putting it in the dishwasher would actually work. I just replace them every 6 months.
So I have put mine in the dishwasher a bunch and it’s fine but also cleans it super well.
That’s good to know. I might try it but still nervous.

Try throwing it in the dishwasher
I don’t make any attempt to clean them. I just soak it in water before using it.
If you are throwing it out every 6 months whats the harm in trying one out in the dishwasher?
I'd be worried about the grease and shite in the drain of the dishwasher.
$5 brush vs. $500 dishwasher.

Yeah, this is why. I don’t want to screw up my dishwasher.
Grill cleaners are 5 bucks at Walmart. They're disposable and I wouldn't want that grease in my drain lines.

This is what I do. My SO bought me what OP has and I haven’t used it not because I don’t like it but because I already have the perfect cleaner.
This. Or a half an onion on a fork/tongs
It ain’t rocket surgery bud

I don’t know a lot about the product but why not? That’s basically how I wash all brushes
Just because it’s absolutely caked in black grease.
Maybe boil it in water? Never seen that brand of brush. 🤷
Grill rescue. Made by firefighters or something
