I’m contemplating exactly this… I like the 5000u strap but it’s just not quite as comfortable as my titanium G-shocks… Where’s the best place to pick up an original bracelet please?

Hey man, yeah...I agree,the rubber strap on the 5000u is nice, especially compared to the more "plasticky" straps on other models...That said, the V2 Combi Bracelet on the 5000u completes the package. Between the solid steel case and screw on case back, adding the V2 bracelet truly makes this watch wear like a "real watch"...Awesome combination. I had a hard time tracking down just the V2 bracelet. Everywhere I looked seemed to only have the V1 Combi which I had previously owned a while back and I thought it was pretty cool till it cut my under wrist after wearing for a while. I also really like the smoother cleaner aesthetic of the V2...Anyway what I ended up doing is purchasing the GW-B5600 which comes with the V2 Combi for $179 (usd) on amazon and switched out the straps...I figured since I couldn't seem to find the V2 Combi on its own, and if I did, it would be maybe $50 less possibly not even and I have another cool G-shock square that I totally don't need. Although the rubber strap on the GW-B5600 is a great combo as well, so, oh well. I'd be interested in your feedback if and when you actually do acquire the V2 Combi...Good luck and happy hunting!

I’m on the hunt…! When you say you tried the V1 and the V2, are they both fully titanium? The strap I like is the one that comes with the titanium B5000TB-1 but it costs a fortune (I’ve found it for GBP300…!). I’m not sure if that’s a V1 or a V2… Getting confused… I think your V2 alternates a wide link then a narrower link, and so on. Is the V1 a wide link all the way?

Why did you replace the 5600?

It was about 10 years old and the face guard crumbled apart when I was cleaning. Simultaneously, I happened to stumble on a 40% off sale for this DW-H5600 and figured why not 🤷🏽‍♂️ I ordered a replacement face guard for the old 5600 as well but I might give it to a friend / family or sell. Haven’t decided yet.
