I have that one and it is a JDM model. I believe is has to do with the Navy and the 4 stars represent something. I liked how there’s less text on the module than standard 5610’s and love the blue band. Unfortunately it was kind of a pain to read in low light so I swapped the module for another jdm model and made this hybrid.
I absolutely love it now and wear it all the time. Has a slightly blue positive display and the light and dark blues work great.

Jdm- Japanese domestic market. It’s a product that was made specifically for the Japanese market and not typically sold abroad. It’s popular with Japanese tech products like cars/parts (old Nissan skylines are a perfect example) and watches.
A lot of the time they release stuff there that’s really cool but unavailable for the US or Europe market so you have to deal with high shipping or long wait times.
This was my daily driver for several years. IMO the resin feels slightly better than the standard 5610 (though that may just be in my head).
Eventually got a new watch and kept using the blue reson from this. Put this in the standard matte black resin, and it looks great (reminds me of 1989 Batman with the matte black and yellow highlights)
JDM means they only sell them in Japan versus internationally. Basically an "exclusive regional colorway" like they do with sneakers sometimes. Most G-Shocks are made in Thailand now except for the most premium models.

"The country of origin where a watch is manufactured does not necessarily determine its authenticity or quality. Casio has standards and quality control measures in place to ensure that their watches meet their specifications, regardless of where they are manufactured. As long as you purchase your Casio watch from a reputable source, you can trust that it is an original Casio product, even if it is not made in Japan."
No it will only last a few decades, never need any attention, be almost completely impervious, and look cool.

Ooooh. I like this.
This looks amazing!
What’s the difference between a regular model and a JDM model? In fact, what does JDM even mean? Hear it quite a bit here

Are there any rare models of this? That’s not a Mr. G
Is any model bad? Ig if you dont like how it looks it isnt "any good"
I like that it’s not the typical black square. But that negative display looks like it’s from the 90s. Hahaha
It gives it character
If you dont like it then its no good for you if you do then it is
Yes! It’s a great watch, I loved the navy blue and green color way. I regret selling it. It’s hard to find now.
Navy blue and green? Dont think ive seen that before
It’s not good at visibility but as good as any other g shock otherwise.
Yes it will serve you well!
For me as long as tough solar is on there: Great!!
I dont ljke black background. Hard to read
As hard to read as “house of leaves”

That is so tactical! How are you living with this bad display? I am coping.
It's only got 4 stars and not 5 so it's falling short somewhere 😁
I was bidding one of those on ebay yesterday. Someone beat me to it. Sold for $70. :(
Its tough solar and has atomic clock sync Yup Its definitely "good"
Readability is gone for a toss.
It actually takes effort to read the time compared to my f84w.
Yeah the negative display on that GW-M5610 is pretty bad. I love the style of the watch though.
This is true. The negative display on an a168 is much sharper.
Sure, apart from the awful negative display.
I know. But when the light hits it just right, it’s magnificent. But only happens 1/20 times
It's Casio. Next question.
it has solar power,mb6,mut be good!!!
Just got into gshocks. Was usually wearing a cheap f84w. But wanted something more rugged for sports.
you have choosen wisely jdm means it was made for japan domestic market.always better in quality
But at the back it says made in Thailand. 😂

Appreciate it!

But is it possible to have a JDM variant that is made in Thailand?
Yes. It is manufactured in Thailand but targeted for Japan.
