I find that when I can't be created enough to 0-3-5 my way through an album, I just smash my guitar on the floor till it detunes and play that tuning from there on out.

I did one recording in E flat. It was great for me to sing the song, but a bitch to keep in tune. Btw, a lot of artists use various tunings. Sometimes it’s easier to play.
