Idk, I have only bought NYXL for as long as I remember. Ask me when I last had to replace them... I dare you! 😄

Vinny_DelVecchio

Haven't tried them myself. Give them a shot and let us know?

skouidy

I will !

Vinny_DelVecchio

I know they add cobalt to steel to make it very hard. Cobalt drill bits are made for drilling holes in metal. I wonder how it affects the sound, feel, and longevity of guitar strings though? Can't wait to hear back from you!

iFuqueJormam

If you need long lasting toan get Elixirs or Daddario Coated strings

TabletSlab

I got the steel ones. Acoustics are better. I feel an awkward flow with some changes where there's skipping rather than gliding over the strings (don't know if I explained well, you get stuck). There's no superior sustain or "loudness" (as advertised), in fact I notice it more on a baritone or 7 string set rather than on these. Honestly, not worth it. A regular good quality set it just as good. Edit: if you want longer lasting and crisper strings for longer. Buy WD-40 and clean the strings with a bit of it in a paper towel.

dizvyz

my body chemistry does not like ernie balls at all. (Dean Markley is the best i found for myself) So whatever answer you get you can't know without trying.

Adorable-Leave-5250

They feel like silk i love these, got the 56/11 set and the higher strings bend so nicely

Additional-Help2760

I got them, 9s I think. I like them, more mellow sound then super slink chrome and they last a very long time without tarnishing. I bought two packs. They are interesting and may provide a tone you are searching for that chrome cannot. I use chrome and cobalt now.

JustForTouchingBalls

I used them a lot time ago. Not bad, but are better Elixir (cream of the crop) and D’addario

mynemesisjeph

Have them on my Gretsch right now. I haven’t found them to be particularly special.

Glum_Awareness_7012

Pass. For some reason these always break when I get them. 🤷🏼‍♂️

tonsofmiso

I have these in either 9-42 or 9-46. I like them, dunno if it's placebo but they feel nice. A bit too expensive compared to other strings though. Its fun to try out different types, but the differences are pretty subtle. Don't get sold on snake oil arguments.

Every time I get Ernie ball strings I sweat enough to rust through them in about a week. I stick to NYXL
