S&W 929 JM 9mm I use in competetion. A while back I lost the original muzzle cap and decided to make a new one, while I was at it I made a second one threaded.
The very best suppressors in the world still leave gunfire well over 100 decibels. People who don't wear earpro when shooting suppressed are damaging their hearing, they just don't realize it. Yet.
What did I just say? The very best suppressors in the world still leave **gunfire** at well over 100 decibels. That's not counting sonic booms from projectiles, just the muzzle report alone.
People who don't wear earpro when shooting suppressed are damaging their hearing, they just don't realise it yet. Usually because they prefer broscience and superstition to all the evidence from people who've gotten a calibrated decibel meter and just measured how loud a suppressed muzzle blast is at the shooter's position.
Do everyone a favor and edit your post to remove the myth before more people go deaf thinking that just because 110 decibels of low frequency noise isn't immediately painful it means they aren't going deaf.
> are more damaging to our ears,
I said low frequencies were less painful, not more damaging. Given how much you've read on this I'm sure you're familiar with the equal loudness curve.
>Most research I found says, for impulse sounds like gunfire ,140db is the threshold for permanent hearing damage.
If you've still got it handy send me some of that, because what I was told by an audiologist is anything >80db causes permanent cumulative damage. Potentially immeasurably minor damage at any given exposure, but that nonetheless does add up. It's particularly problematic because it can lead to a type of hearing damage that normal isolation room tests can't detect. It's just the [last year or two](https://www.nih.gov/news-events/nih-research-matters/diagnosing-hidden-hearing-loss) that audiologists have even started figuring out methodologies for this.
*We can go deaf if we want to,*
*We can leave your friends behind,*
*Cause your friends don't blast*
*And if they don't blast*
*Well, they're no friends of mine...*
"WHAT?!"
PLEASE take a video and share with us. people talk all the time about how worthless this is, and theyrealmost certainly right, but ive never actually seen it tried to confirm.
Power Custom Trigger, Apex Evolution IV Hammer, polished some of the internals, removed the lock and plugged the hole, chamfered ahd honed the cylinder, replaced the factory sights with a set from LPA, reduced weight rebound spring, hammer and trigger shims.

Kinda like a gas tank on a Tesla.
Kinda like wiping but before you poop
Ahhhhh I get it, but like because your wiping butt

9mm revolver? I haven't seen that before, that's an interesting gun you've got
The 929 is quite fun. Pretty common in revolver competition
Oh so that was the only modification? (No magical cylinder extensions to keep the gas inside?
I just yell really loud and close my eyes when I shoot it, its movie quiet, to me at least.
so like how well does it work
I haven't shot it yet, but Im fairly sure its gonna be pointless for anything other than laughs.
Post a video when you do.
You should get less muzzle flash and recoil, but id still wear ear protection

This is a free country and we can go deaf if we want to, nerd.

Due to cylinder gab, not well.
that is why I’m asking
You'd think, but on the other hand nobody ever does this, so how do we know?
Pinch ¾ of your mouth closed and try making noise.
I'm not disagreeing, but I'd still like to see what actually happens.
Slightly worse than any semi auto with one 🤷♂️
I know it would be a crime gun but suppressor compatible revolvers need to make a comeback.
Needs foregrip 🤣
Add a potato
I would love to see a video of that firing. Also, love that grip
Night time shoot. That cylinder gap flash is gonna be impressive 😮
What all work do you have on your 929?

Goddamn. Must feel super smooth now. Who did the work, or did you do it yourself?
It's definitely an improvement over the factory action. I did the work myself.
I believe a video with good sound quality is in order
I don't think that quote means what you think it means.
*Pearcy, in heaven, probably* "Hwat 🤨🧐"
Neat. Does it mean I needed a title and that quote was stuck in my head or should I have just went with the one about that guy from Nantucket?
what’s the point?
Because I can.
This is the way.
> can Heh.

That is the backup gun for Anton in ‘No Country For Old Men.’
Great job!
Sweet magwell flare
I wish it worked cause it does look cool as fuck
that's a nice barrel extender
I wanna hear how well that suppressor works. Otherwise that’s pretty.
Ouch my pride 🤕 Ah! My spleen 🩼
