In his defense, it seems like he wasnāt aware that she was passed on to a different owner after he gave her up to the horse ranch. And when he found out about her being rescued by The Gentle Barn, he thanked them on social media, shouted them out and then donated $$$ to them. Bare minimum but at least he acknowledged what happened to her. Trust me. I was wondering the same thing, which is why I looked into it.
That being said, I do believe it was incredibly irresponsible of him to even get her in the first place. I think itās pretty common knowledge nowadays that there is no such thing as āteacupā pigs, whichā¦ he only got her because of the belief that she was a teacup. Had he done just an ounce of research, he would have realized that teacup pigs donāt exist.

Agree. Not to mention the fact itās dangerous to blindly showcase and glamorize having exotic pets because it just promotes more people making uninformed decisions to take on an animal theyāre not ready to be responsible for. Itās a vicious cycle.
It kinda hurt my heart a little when she got tore up in the debate, but Iām glad she has gotten to a better place in life with people that actually care for her. Hopefully pearl can step away from the internet for good and live a happy life with plenty of belly rubs.
I know there are definitely some urgent circumstances where people MUST leave a place, and they cannot bring their beloved pets. But I cannot fathom a universe where I didnāt do every single fucking thing possible to not ever leave my boy behind. I simply cannot understand the mindset of a pet being a disposable item to get rid of whenever inconvenienced. I do not trust those people.

if you havenāt already, please visit an animal sanctuary and go on a tour. I went to the Woodstock Animal Sanctuary in upstate NY and had such a nice time, they let me apply sunscreen on a pig and a barn cat accompanied us for our entire tour
