Fresh Skullcap Laterfolia tincture makes me a functional human without taking benzos for panic attacks. I've been taking it daily for 2 years and my life is soooo much better. Also works wonders for us with insomnia. I can't imagine life without it now.
For those wondering, no, it doesn't give you a buzz. It just takes feelings of anxiety and panic away.
Drowsiness really depends on the size of the dose, but it can definitely make me Drowsy if I'm not doing something. Like if I'm riding as a passenger in a vehicle or sitting down being inactive.
with hops tincture, one need only take less than a single dropperful , depending on weight, and that's all is required to relax. without a buzz or intoxication , or need to get up & pee. cuz effective doses of hops from beer takes a few cans... functional herbal medicinal extractions requires 47.5+ % alcohol. in order to fully capture secondary metabolites & preserve phytochemical functions. beer production method is focused only on flavor, and fermentation destroys /degrades many active compounds. (Aside from stuff inspired by Buhner's herbal beer history recipe bible) btw you can dilute it futher to bring it to less intensity, but hops purified tastes like death , so truly difficult to over use or abuse, for any w addictive natures. and sleep is on it's way
Use caution with lobelia as it is a very low dose herb. Start with 1-5 drops and work your way up slowly. Too large of a dose and it is an emetic (you will vomit).
This is the kind of question I cringe when I see it, because it's just further evidence of my observation that people want to use herbs like they do pharmaceuticals. It's the same mindset- "take this plant for this symptom". People that is not the way plant medicine works! In TCM, this is called 'inferior medicine".
Different people respond in different ways. What works for your headache may not work for mine. Example- Skullcap barely makes a dent in my psyche. Kava, however is something else. And when I pair Kava with Skullcap, or Kava with Pedularis, I'm in the zone. Just know that herbal medicine is infinitely nuanced and subtle and people's reactions depend on their particular physiological state. End of rant.
Wormwood tea. I buy wormwood dried herbs from Amazon. It’s super bitter but oddly enough, after drinking the tea, not only do I feel much better (bitters are a tonic for the body) but it also acts as a pain killer. Strange! But it works for me. Only 1 teaspoon for a tea per day. I do not consume it everyday as it’s not too good for you, but three times per week especially when I have digestion issues. I down it and it feels like I’ve taken a happiness pill for a moment.
I don’t think there is a “best” but I like different combos depending on my mood and if I want to relax but not fall asleep. In general I love lemon balm, passionflower, tulsi, chamomile, lavender, blue lotus, skullcap, Motherwort, kava, and probably a few more I’m forgetting.
Hear me out. Fresh skullcap tincture plus lavender glycerite. Tastes like Coca Cola and knocks me right out.

Does it make you feel drowsy during the day?

I make usnea tincture for this, I absolutely love it.
This is the first time I've heard of usnea used in that way! I have a double extraction, but I use mine for immune support.
