Factor in Dallas and Vegas and we are looking at 3 additional SCF appearances and 1 additional win since 2017...8 appearances of no state tax teams in 8 seasons with 4 cup wins. Not to mention however many conference final appearances for the no state tax teams. I guess seattle doesn't fit the narrative entirely, but maybe they do if you consider that they made it to the 2nd round in only their 2nd season.
Canadians need to understand that hockey is owned by money and all the money is in the American sunbelt where literally no one gives a shit about this sport. 90% of people in the miama concrete patch don't even know this game happened. Canadians don't need to cheer for other Canadian teams but any Canadian actively cheering for the Panthers is embarrassing themselves

State tax is not that big an issue. When the players play away games they pay city, state taxes for those games per those citiies and states.
