It is kinda meh but damn it's nice to see the entire Balkans bow to your knees, gobble up Yugoslavia for free, and then crush the Soviets with the entire Balkans armies by your side.
Geez chill, it was a joke mate
And no, somehow despite 97% of all intelligent people in hungary despise orbán he somehow still gets reelected every time due to the uneducated and brainwashed masses
Bulgaria, hella long sometimes, but if played properly, it is fun(hopefully you will enjoy it).
Can try to do the Byzantium achievements (4 in 1 run), have some fun with encircling turks in alexandria
greece industry can be painful cause of all those damn consumer goods, but my main issue with greece is their research. they have fuck-all researched and it takes while to get to your 4th research slot. At least with industry you can get some fast bonus' from the devalue the drachma tree. go down the left hand side, when you're nearly done utilize our strengths if you do open foreign subsidized factories you can get an easy 4 civs and 4 mills, then you can do the short focus' to get to 4 more civs or 3 mills.
Being a Balkan country is more about a way of life than a geographic location.
I'd even argue that the US is part of the Balkans, love those crazy sons of bitches
the Balkan nations are Greece, Albania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, and Moldova or that's how I've always seen it
Well it’s called the Balkan Peninsula and it can’t be a peninsula without Greece but okay, to everyone downvoting me he edited it to say Greece after I said this
If there is no geographic division, is the entire eurasian landmass Europeans? If you google how much of turkey is in europe, you will find it is 3%, even though there is no geographical distinction, most of turkey is considered to be in Asia.
Culturally, turks intermingled with the middle east a lot, you cannot tell me that the Uyghur Turks and the Anatolian Turks are the same Culturally. Anatolian Turks used the Arabic alphabet for the vast majority of their history. They have ties in Central Asia, the Middle east, and in Europe, calling them ONLY European is not accurate.
Ottoman literally focussed on balkans. If turks have middle eastern all balkans got affected by it. Turkish people culture has nothing similar with arabic culture. Thats why arab imigrants in Turkey is a big trouble.
Geographically they are indeed Balkan and in fact that is the only thing making them balkan if but I would agree that Slovakia is definitely on the edge but if you search up a map of the balkans they are sometimes included
Look for one relevant source which says that. Spoiler - You will never find any. This is just bullshit. Your personal option does not matter in that.

You are not Slovak, first of all you can't even spell your nationality properly (fucking cringe) and next is that you let hu\*\*ary into our glorious central europe, therefore i proclaim you as a southern felvidek spy (fucking cringe as well) and banish you to Mosonmagyaróvár
Greece, with BFB there are several fun paths for the Greeks. Metaxas, Stalinist, and Venizelist paths are pretty fun
Bulgaria is pretty fun, if not a little complicated. Either the Democratic or the communist paths to unite Balkans are fun, if not slightly cursed.
The Kingdom of Portugal and Brazil is pretty fun too, it basically becomes a major real quick.
Stalinist Greece: Rush the political focuses, until you flip commie. Renege ur debt to IFC. At some point get ideological loyalty, which continuously gives 500 manpower each week - a real necessity for Greece. Do the economic tree, and make divisions with 9 INF + 1 ART with support companies of Engineers, Field Hospitals, ART, and AT. That should go for any path as greece. Focus production on Fighters too to have some sort of air superiority. Before finishing Bosporus Gamble focus join the Comintern if u want Turkey to submit, or join the Comintern later if you want to fight Turkey. U will always lose the border conflict so war is inevitable. When you fight the axis, hold the line and push north in Bulgaria behind the River line, which should keep you safe. As the war progresses slowly inch your way north to capture Romanian oil fields, and finish off the fascists! Because of communist Greece manpower bonuses you should easily be able to field 2-3 full armies.
26k.
That might not sound like much, but Paraguay has less than 1M core population by default. This more than doubles the manpower you'd get after 4 years if you ran service by requirement. More importantly, it gives you a few extra 10-12w divisions to micro in war vs someone like Argentina within first two years, making it easier to puppet them and utilize manpower available to a real country.
On trash cans with core pop this low, the 26k per year is actually more than the manpower from the generic fascist tree. So this actually is a significant buff if you're trying to get junk communist nations off the ground and be a force for evil in the world.
It’s not good, paraguay is probably the weakest save maybe Uruguay?
But conquering all your neighbours is both very doable but also very difficult as Paraguay, it’s a very rewarding game imo.
<:: Combine it with a tactically awkward spot to take over, a surprising amount of factories and (I think? I play a lot of r56 so correct me) a pretty decent focus tree. It makes them the most fun after Chile and Brazil, but Brazil rolls way too easily so it's not as rewarding. ::>
I mean starting communist is a major plus but other than that - nothing. It’s a fun game because you have to be so conservative with your resources while also being incredibly weak.
It’s probably weaker than most of the other SA nations but that’s what makes it fun.
manchukuo is kinda challenging but very very fun (make sure you go the indepedence route)
bulgaria is great to though imo the focus tree is a bit confusing
Balkans are always fun :)
Who? In the Balkans already did Yugoslavia and Hungary.
Romania is good fun
I tend to never enjoy Romania since their focus tree is meh,
It is kinda meh but damn it's nice to see the entire Balkans bow to your knees, gobble up Yugoslavia for free, and then crush the Soviets with the entire Balkans armies by your side.
I tend to never enjoy romania since I am hungarian
Does Hungarians enjoy anything besides them selves and their orban dude in power?
Wdym, these are literally the two things hungarians despise the most
Are they now? Haven't he been reelected? And aren't ya too self sentered to not play Romania?
Geez chill, it was a joke mate And no, somehow despite 97% of all intelligent people in hungary despise orbán he somehow still gets reelected every time due to the uneducated and brainwashed masses
I'm chill. I'm teesing you :)
Orban is based
Go Greece
Yes
Bulgaria, hella long sometimes, but if played properly, it is fun(hopefully you will enjoy it). Can try to do the Byzantium achievements (4 in 1 run), have some fun with encircling turks in alexandria
Ive heard the war against turkey doesnt work well in no step back
I’ve got it to work before, my main problem no matter what in a Byzantium/Greece game is industry even with lend lease cheese.
greece industry can be painful cause of all those damn consumer goods, but my main issue with greece is their research. they have fuck-all researched and it takes while to get to your 4th research slot. Bulgaria is funny. Getting the whole balkans as cores is super strong too
greece->byzantium turkey->Ottoman turkey->kemalist fascist and kemalist socialist ways
really recommend Bulgaria, nice big focus tree, and you really don't have to worry about navy
Hungary is not balkan tho
It seems deciding what countries are in the balkans is just a divisive as the balkans themselves
Being a Balkan country is more about a way of life than a geographic location. I'd even argue that the US is part of the Balkans, love those crazy sons of bitches
Can’t say I disagree
the Balkan nations are Greece, Albania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, and Moldova or that's how I've always seen it
slovakia how
thats not how it is at all, its slovenia, croatia bosnia&herzegovina, serbia, montenegro, macedonia, albania, greece, bulgaria, romania, and turkey
Well it’s called the Balkan Peninsula and it can’t be a peninsula without Greece but okay, to everyone downvoting me he edited it to say Greece after I said this
Don’t forget Portugal, very Balkan 👍👍👍
r/portugalcykablyat
amazing how dense some people can be
Lmao what i didnt edit anything ur just blind af
I wouldn't call Turkey a balcan country.
[удалено]
Culturally, geographically, and religiously they are middle eastern

slovenia is not in the balkans
How is Slovakia and Hungary in Balkans, they are Neither cultural or geografical part of region.
Geographically they are indeed Balkan and in fact that is the only thing making them balkan if but I would agree that Slovakia is definitely on the edge but if you search up a map of the balkans they are sometimes included
Damn I wish I had the balls, and lack of concern for my life, to say that Hungary is part of the Balkans on the internet.
Lmao

Except for all the ones that do but ok no need to get that mad about basic geography
All of them literally dont

Central what?
europe mby?
Its eastern tho, there is no central, you are one of us 🇷🇸🇸🇰🇷🇴🇵🇱🇨🇿🇭🇺🇸🇮🇭🇷🇧🇦🇲🇪🇧🇬🇲🇰🇦🇱🇷🇺🇺🇦🇧🇾
one of us! one of us! one of us!
Wrong, central Europe does exist and y'all just jealous of it. Us, poles, and Hungarians are just too good for you
no, you are one of us
You are not Slovak, first of all you can't even spell your nationality properly (fucking cringe) and next is that you let hu\*\*ary into our glorious central europe, therefore i proclaim you as a southern felvidek spy (fucking cringe as well) and banish you to Mosonmagyaróvár
But most of your conquest is
...what?
Hungary mostly expands into yugo and romania, who def are balkan
Hungary is Balkan because I say so
Romania if you have death or dishonour
I read death or dinosaur
Romanian Cavalry divisions on raptors
Albania..
Balkan Federation as Bulgaria is satisfying, overpowered and dare I say it, fun. Battle for the Bosporus dlc required
Romania is my favourite Balkan country to play
Monarchist Bulgaria imo is really fun, that and Byzantine Greece... Tho you will have to be ready to figure out a decent way to kill the turks
FBI here what do you mean when you say only minors?
Minor nations, 0 minors were harmed in this making of this post
Yet
Kiddo countries

Which Greek path would you recommend and any tips on it? Pretty rusty as I haven't played since NSB release

Cool thanks!! Are you able to form Byzantine empire with this path?
No the Byzantine are only formable through the “Anatolian Fascists” path, basically follow democratic path until the fascist coup.

Bulgaria. Extremely fun. Greece as Byzantium os really easy and fun. Turkey into ottoman empire is challenging but funny as hell
Asia - Communist China : Africa - South Africa : North America - Mexico : South America - Paraguay : Europe - Romania : Oceania - Australia :
pa-paraguay?
It starts of as a Communist nation and Communist nations have the Portrait of Marx Spirit, which makes it better than most of South America .
how does approx 24k manpower per year make it better
26k. That might not sound like much, but Paraguay has less than 1M core population by default. This more than doubles the manpower you'd get after 4 years if you ran service by requirement. More importantly, it gives you a few extra 10-12w divisions to micro in war vs someone like Argentina within first two years, making it easier to puppet them and utilize manpower available to a real country. yes,but how does it make it better than any other south american country when you have nothing but that dumb spirit of the army

Wait did the update come out?
Wtf did this image even come from? Why would they not just press f12? I have so many questions
Do every nation from A-X that would be fun
A-Z?
There are no countries that start with Z in the start of HOI4. So it's A-X
A-Y? Also there are releasables
