I got me 10 tradfri bulbes with that setup and they work instantly I also have the pm 2.5 device

tekhtime

They make bubbles now? Interesting

ChristBKK

played too much with my son outside with bubbles so my brain didnt work anymore :)

Zigbee2MQTT is much more stable than ZHA, but Zigbee in general is not that stable.

Itchy_Tiger_8774

I use the Sonoff dongle, ZHA, and several Tradfri devices with no issues. I mostly use the repeater plugs though, so the house is well covered.

severanexp

Add more routers.

space___lion

What do you mean? I have a few of the plugs, one is close by the fyrtur blinds (closer to the one that often loses connection) but it makes no difference. There’s also 3 Tradfri bulbs and 2 ikea hue bulbs close by the blinds.

severanexp

It’s a mesh system so it stands to reason that if you’re having disconnections that you have a gap in connection somewhere. It’s not enough to have one plug next to it. You need to have several all the way down to the HA server with the sonoff plug.

space___lion

The mesh system looks like this, the blue circle is one of the blinds in question https://imgur.com/a/K871T7t It seems to be connected to a light bulb, so I’d say the light bulbs act as routers too, which means there are 8 router devices in the vicinity of the blinds, since there are 7 lightbulbs and 1 plug in the room. Is this not enough?

severanexp

I don’t know honestly. For example, do you have walls in between that may impact the lqi? Do you cut off the power to the bulbs when you turn them off?

space___lion

No to both. I did just add 3 signal repeater devices that came with the blinds, I’ll have to wait and see if this improves the mesh and connectivity. I didn’t know I could add these to ZHA, but these should act as extra routers.

severanexp

Humm I wonder if the ikea fyrtur don’t like standard zigbee routers…?

> ZHA works fine for many people, so it should work for me too? ZHA does *not* work fine for many people, at least not those who have IKEA devices. Just search the sub, you'll find post after post after post complaining about IKEA and ZHA. It took me 3 days worth of attempts to get a single Rodret to pair with ZHA, and about 2 hours to pair 8 of them, 4 Styrbars, and a Vallhorn with Z2M. I know it's not what you want to hear, but I have no doubt you will not be able to get them stable using ZHA.

space___lion

I’m just hesitant to switch to Z2MQTT because idk if it’ll work better. How are your experiences either Z2M and do you have the fyrtur blinds? These not working reliably is our biggest annoyance right now.

NerdyNThick

I don't have any blinds, sorry, but I've had little to no issues with Z2M aside from some wifi interference due to me not reading up on the best channel to use. I'm currently using channel 11 which is super noisy for me, but I plan on switching things to channel 25 which is much clearer (for me). I'd advice getting a wifi scanning tool to check what channels are clear, so you can start with the best chance of success. Between ZHA and Z2M, the simple fact that something that took me days to pair with ZHA took minutes with Z2M, and all the functions worked (battery reporting, OTA firmware updates, click-hold function, etc...) was all I needed to switch. Ever since then I've had about 95% success pairing a new device on the first attempt. The other 5% took a second attempt. Note that I was just starting out, so switching was essentially painless, as I hadn't had any real success getting ZHA running. ETA: https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/devices/E1757.html

ChimpsInTies

I just admit I'm not getting on great with them. Some of the switches seem fine. The motion sensors tent to lose connection every now and again as do the smart plugs (used mainly as a repeater). My sonoff motion sensor has never skipped a beat so I might stop getting IKEA stuff and go back to that. The IKEA stuff is just so handy cos it's cheap and we've got one reasonably close by.

fdenorman

I have frytur blinds and their rocker buttons (forgot the name) in a Sonoff dongle + Z2M system. Works flawlessly. I also do have a rather strong mesh, with half a dozen routers in addition to the coordinator.

machiz7888

This is probably a stupid question but how's your battery life on the blinds? I started out using a smart things hub before getting the newest ikea hub. On smart things I had to charge the batteries like monthly. With the Ikea hub I think I've gone more than six months of daily open/closes without a recharge

fdenorman

I had to look, because I've charged it before hanging and have not done it again since. So it has been up since November last year, running once or twice a day (it is a small window, so the whole movement is about 50cm) and it is not reading 43% battery. I really hope the zemismart signed mirrors one just hanged in other roller blinds have similar battery life.

space___lion

Thank you for commenting! What devices do you use as routers in your system? I just added 3 signal repeaters that came with the fyrtur blinds, as I didn’t know I could add these to ZHA. I’ll have to wait and see if it gets better now!

fdenorman

I have 6 Tradfris, one of the extenders that came with the Frytur, and one Gledopto led controller as routers. But I used to be able to cover the whole house with only three Tradfris.

antisane

I only use the Trafri bulbs, which work perfectly with my Conbee II and ZHA.
