Katasumi and 4444444444 inform stuff that happens in Curse. Majority of Curse 2 is a recap of the first, I think you can find a super edit on YouTube of the first and new parts of the second. Then Grudge and Grudge 2, and finally Black Ghost and White Ghost both finish off the series.
After that there was a reboot with two movies, Beginning of the End and Final Curse.
Then there was a crossover with Ringu, Sadako vs. Kayako. Which is another separate continuity for both series.
Then there’s the four American films. There are also three short films called Tales from the Grudge that kinda bridge the first two American films.
Finally, Origin. A prequel TV series, that from what recall has the Grudge movies as actual films in its world and the show is the true story of the curse. That’s kinda the order of things, if you wanted to take the deep dive.
Definitely recommend Curse (there's versions that combine both 1 & 2) and then the two Ju-On's after the two shorts. And then for yucks, Sadako vs. Kayako (Ringu vs. Ju-On). 😁
Odd...The Grudge I can find easy (it's on Tubi, if you're in a region that has it - convenient when I don't feel like dragging out my copies), but have not seen The Curse anywhere. Where are you finding it?

I’d go Curse, Grudge, Grudge 2. I never saw the American versions so can’t comment on those.

Watched it recently on the high seas. It's really good right up there with Ju On and Ringu.
