I'll write my review in 3 parts: Sound FX, Music, and Plugins. To give some context (respect my authoriteh): I'm the creative lead at a AA gaming studio and also working on my own games on the side. Tl;dr Ovani once again releases an amazing pack that works for almost anything you could need. # SOUND FX In my opinion, the sound FX in this bundle are a huge win. With most sound companies, it seems that 10-20% of the pack is originally recorded sounds while the rest are all in-the-box filler created with software. I felt this especially with the disappointment that was the Krotos Bundle, and the even bigger disappointment that was the Audio Hero bundle. The other big thing is the spectrum of sounds they offer. All of it has different levels of processing. The foley was clearly recorded in a good environment and processed just enough. While the Magic and sci-fi sound FX packs were heavily processed to create the end sound. Their guns pack is great because it's not *too* heavily processed, but just enough to give you room to play around. My other highlights are Environmental Ambience, Body Gore, and Harvesting. # MUSIC As a musician myself, I found the music to have great variety and good storytelling. The songs are memorable and could make any experience much more exciting. I will also be attempting to put my preferences to the side and focus solely on the quality and the depth of the songs. What I've come to realize with Ovani is that they care much more about the end user than most sound companies. I only say that because, generally, trying to find RF music is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. But I have never had that issue with Ovani. There are a handful of genres here that I am not super familiar with nor will I probably have use for, but I can tell they are great quality: mixed and written very well. For instance, I have zero use for Pirate or Heavy Electronic music. But I have heard far worse music in other AAA titles. My standout picks are Epic, Magical, Ambient, and Metal 🤘 # PLUGINS I only get to use the plugins on my personal projects, but a couple of them have proven to be very helpful. The Environmental Ambience plugins are the best ones they have made so far and extremely useful (for my contexts). I will say, there needs to be a better system for updating their plugins as it seems their webhost is very limited. This doesn't detract from the quality of the plugins or their usability, but I wish the download speeds were much better and consistent.

No overlaps with the previous Ovani bundle when it comes to the SFX/music packs. Also, I think that 'environmental ambience' plugin didn't exist in previous bundles too but not entirely sure.

The two new ambience plugins are new ( I did a [hands-on with the Unity and Godot](https://youtu.be/GQEFxqwNUlo) ambience plugins if you're interested 2:10 mark for the hands-on portion ). Unfortunately at the time I made the video there was a bug in the Godot demo, but it's since been fixed according to Ovani. The plugin worked just fine, there was just an error in the example itself. There is no ambience plugin for Unreal Engine since this functionality is available *out of the box*. The music player plugins were from a previous bundle, although this one added the Roblox player to the Godot, Unreal and Unity plugins we've gotten from previous bundles. Other than the replicated plugins, I do believe all of the content stuff is brand new. The Ovani stuff is very good, especially for game developers, as you get 5 different versions of each soundtrack enabling you to mix dynamically in your game based on intensity. The sound effects stuff is all high quality too, and generally contains a pretty comprehensive collection of foley effects which are game ready. Everything is under a reasonable license that allows commercial royalty free use.

I bought a couple of bundles from Ovani and the sounds are all pretty good quality and usable. Will definitely buy it.

Anyone else having problems playing the audio files? Have tried Windows media player and get an error message that it cant play the file, does not support file type or codex that was used to compress. Also tried VLC, but nothing plays??

Ok_Passenger_3652

Ended up using 7-zip to extract instead which seems to have fixed the issue

Is there an easy way to view the list of sounds in the SFX packs?

DugganSC

I don't see an overall list, but you can look packages up on the Ovani site, e.g. the [Air Sound FX](https://ovanisound.com/products/air-sound-fx-pack).

I honestly found the music to be incredibly generic, simple and boring from a composition and mixing standpoint. Horror wasn't really horror. It was more hybrid trailer action, with cheese tropes like a heartbeat sample/preset thrown in. Very lazy imho. Ambience wasn't really ambience. I don't know what that was actually. Almost seemed more sci-fi or electronic than ambience. The hard electronic album had 1 decent track, I think the first one Nightrunner. That sounded more darksynth and at least had some intensity to it, but it was still rather generic. Mach 10, the second track, actually isn't bad, and could work as a boss battle, but right as it's abut to get interesting it ends. It feels more like an intro then a full track. it didn't go anywhere. None of these tracks actually have any exciting climax or ramping up energy. The Epic music was just incredibly generic, derivative, and completely soulless. Ditto for the Fantasy. That's the main problem. It all sounds soulless, and bland. Synthwave, also uninspired and generic, with zero intensity or retro analog feels or \*cool factor\*... It all feels very phoned in, imho. The casual stuff didn't have any hooks or any earworms which you need for casual games or puzzlers or platformers. Again very uninspired but can work as just background music that you can just forget is even there. Still doesn't seem to have any distinct themes or ideas. I would say the Rhythmic stuff is usable for a platformer, and that's probably the best thing in this bundle. Eastern wasn't really eastern, it was orientalist music, at best, and synth something at worst. All very simple, repetitive, and bland, with no clear motifs/themes, or good sound design. I guess if you're making yet another derivative rogue like or generic top down, or some other clone title then this could work. Not for me though. The previous Krotos Audio bundle had much better professional quality Foley and SFX than what you get here, as well. I was really disappointed by the sci-fi and body horror effects. I wouldn't put any of this stuff in my game. I can't comment on the plugins as I haven't used them. I'd give this 3/10. If you're starting out...5/10 (and that's being generous).

Not certain what overlap there is with prior Ovani bundles. Unfortunately, my purchase page is still not showing my redemption key...

Distinct-Chance-8421

There's no overlap except for the 3 music plugins, as usual. I just got a link..you click on it and the products are automatically added and the code entered..
