No links? no nothing?
Where she be located?
I feel like it's California because for some reason all surrendered huskies are in California.
If she is in Florida we will absolutely come get her.
Yes, it’s a crisis here. Other states have bigger problems in general, but the huskies are overwhelming shelters in CA right now. Both of my boys were rescued; Boris was only an hour from being euthanized when he got pulled.
Me too! The thing is he’s an absolute love bug. He walks beautifully on leash by himself and with Ellie. His house manners are lovely. He’s patient with grooming.
Just an all around amazing and funny little man. The world would have lost out without him.
My little husky was panic adopted by a small rescue in California who then put her in a foster home until she could be adopted to a forever home. She was evidently set to die that day. A perfectly healthy 1 year old husky with the sweetest temperament.
When I spoke to the woman who ran the rescue, during my adoption vetting, exhaustion and overwhelming sadness was so clear in her voice. 😭
She is in CA. Here’s all the info:

Gentle reminder : folks, please vaccinate your dogs against kennel cough. Easy, pain-free and will protect your doggo. Poor Elsa, she doesn't deserve this doom.
Yeah, our dog was current on vaccines, and when we brought his sister home from the shelter she came with kennel cough and covered it ticks. They spayed her, so we couldn’t bathe her for two weeks. Just use a topical spray and pick up the dead ticks. Thankfully negative for tick borne illnesses.
Just like a person being vaccinated for the flu can still catch the flu. It should make the illness not as bad, so please still vaccinate your dogs. We got Canine influenza going on.
This. 2 of my huskies had kennel cough at adoption, one which got a secondary infection of pneumonia. It was grueling having both record heatwave and a pneumonic husky young and wanting to do everything 😅 but I would do it all again to know he was fully healed at time of adoption.
Watching a young husky struggling to breathe while just relaxing in full AC and humidifier was some of the worst memories (rushed to the emergency vet which was having their own crisis of 16+ hour waits) and they immediately rushed him in via side entrance since he couldn't walk. And we caught the pneumonia early, both lungs tho and starting to show in his x-rays. That was his second night in our care and they were gonna send us home with kennel cough dx and they thought maybe some heat exhaustion when I mentioned the breathing difficulty and then they did the x-ray and saw.
Point being, he would have been far more likely to have an easier time had his previous owner vaccinated him. My first guy had such an easy go with kennel cough and was vaccinated. It was truly more traumatic for me to hear the coughs 😅.
Dogs can be vaccinated and still get kennel cough. My dog is almost 3, has never been late on any of his vaccines, and still ended up with it at the beginning of this year, which quickly turned into pneumonia even with meds.

She's Ok. They took her off the site and she has been moved. She's on her way to New Mexico to be with us soon. She's going to be a beautiful addition to our husky family!
The shelters are understaffed, underfunded, and are packed full. It’s many problems— bad breeders, people with commitment issues, lack of affordable housing, salaries not keeping up with the cost of living, not enough low-cost spay/neuter services, etc etc. And the animals are the ones who suffer the consequences. It’s a travesty.
ETA: unfortunately, treatable illnesses get spread more quickly and easily due to crowding, the sick dogs are put on kill lists bc the shelter can’t or won’t treat them. Heck, one of my dogs was euth-listed bc he was obese.
I am in Europe but please someone take this dog. You can see in her eyes how intelligent and sweet she is. My best ever behaved rescue was a sweet husky like this...SOMEONE PLEASE ADOPT HER!

Took me a few minutes to find her on their site. We're in Albuquerque. Aren't there any rescues that can take her in? My wife and I have two female huskies currently and a mutt. She look very much like our latest rescue.
Here's the link https://24Petconnect.com/DetailsMain/RVSD/A1745423
How much time does she have left? The website says they don't reserve pets.
i’d like to see shelters reaching out to single dog parents. Having two dogs is NOT twice the work, often it can make life easier/happier. Of course it requires matching dogs, and not all dogs are not good candidates, but lots more are. having 2 dogs is more than twice the fun of having 1 dog.

It’s really bad. We just adopted our 2nd husky and he was on death row but miraculously saved by his foster mom who is fantastic.
My little huskerino has a similar origin story. I’m glad yours ended up in a loving home too. 🥰

You are an amazing person!
Seriously. When I search for huskies within 500 miles of Chicago, I get like 20 dogs. Expand it to CA and it’s like 3000 dogs just there.

188 dogs up for adoption? Just at Riverside? My heart hurts. So many huskies, shepherds and mals.
It’s insane here… in a bad way. CA needs help
My god, ship those dogs east, there’s SO few in Illinois.
It’s so expensive or we would! But If any of you wanna come pick them up, they’re all waiting for you!
We have 2 huskos currently. I want more but wife is unsure. We’d have to have the dogs meet first to be sure.
Aw I get it! Well you know where to find me if she ever is ready!

But as an FYI dogs can still get kennel cough even if they’re vaccinated so if your dog has symptoms and is vaccinated, still take them to the vet!

My husky had pneumonia from kennel cough at the beginning of this year and it was the scariest thing to see him suffer 😢
It's awful!! I'm so sorry your fluff (and you) went through that ❤️. It made me soooo angry, they don't deserve it at all!

Sending prayers from Ohio for a quick recovery and a forever home. Sweet baby.

Whats wrong with usa shelters

Money hungry I would guess
In Czechia u cant kill dogs bcs of capacity reasons. They must be verry sick. This shit is making me sick.
It is sick

Kennel cough is easily treated. You should call more shelters in the area. I wish I could adopt her but I'm in Canada
Hi! We can get her to Canada if you really want to adopt her :) we’d just need you to fill out an adoption application. I’ll message you!
I’m also in Canada but would be happy to foster dogs until they can find a home, please message me with details on how I can help.
Thank you! She is safe with a foster in LA now :) messaged you about Eddie
Wish i could take her. Any sponsors? Can they treat the cough meanwhile?
She has sponsors and we can potentially help treat it for a week if you’re seriously interested in fostering :) I’ll message you!
Any way to pay to get the kennel cough treated?
100%. Once she is out with the rescue we’ll give her a simple course of medicine (free to you) and she should be perfect in less than a week!
Seriously, absolutely no info or response?
