Mine was 3990 grams. My doc said word has spread around the hospital about my surgery and the size of my uterus. šŸ˜‚šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Knitter8369

Did you have an idea pre surgery that it was so large?

graceoftrees

I did - the size was consistent with the ultrasound. Miraculously, my surgeon was able to get everything out laparoscopically except the large fibroid because if had calcified. She did a 4 inch bikini incision to get it out and saved me a full abdominal. She is an absolute rockstar.

shefallsup

An excellent surgeon for sure - a lot of surgeons wouldnā€™t do laparoscopic for such a big uterus!

graceoftrees

Agreed. I walked into my consult assuming it would be open, but she gave herself a 50/50 shot of doing it laparoscopically. Technically it was open because of the bikini incision, but it wasnā€™t open abdominal so I count it as a win and a great achievement by her.

Cool-Boat-6104

Wow!

Right_Ad4135

Wow!!

shefallsup

1015g. Seventeen times bigger than normal (30-60g) apparently!

Creative_Reporter_35

Wow! What were your main symptoms? My surgery is Mon 27th and all I know now is that itā€™s size of 5 month pregnancy. šŸ˜‘

shefallsup

Incredibly heavy periods, stomach bloating, reflux, and the feeling of constantly needing to pee, for starters! My uterus was up to my belly button (20 weeks pregnant height) before I started to take Lupron six months in advance to shrink things, it had dropped a few inches lower (16 weeks pregnant height) before surgery. It also was very wide, almost to the side of my pelvic bone on the left, and I had some very large fibroids. I could tell right away how much more room is in my pelvis now and how much more comfortable Iā€™m going to be long term! My stomach used to pop out like a bubble right under my rib cage, now it just slopes out gently. Sounds like yours is quite large, I hope you get lots of relief from whatever symptoms you have!

mcbell08

57grams - described as small. Thought I was going to lose weight with my surgery šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

deadpplrfun

Same. The surgeon referred to it as teeny tiny. Holy cow it hurt bad though.

mcbell08

Iā€™m just over one year post op, and I appreciate every day that Iā€™m no longer in pain.

Additional-Ad3593

I think around 10 pounds and I was 18 pounds lighter a week after surgery. Fibroid was the size of a small watermelon, uterus had grown to the size of full term baby. Had an open abdominal surgery.

hisAffectionateTart

Mine was nearly 5 pounds and 32 week pregnancy sized. I had 50 fibroids when they just stopped counting- mostly small but two grapefruit sized ones and some baseball sized ones too.

Right_Ad4135

I had a fibroid prior to my hysterectomy removed before having children. And I canā€™t imagine mine as the size of a large orange. That sound unbearable!!

DigComfortable4349

Only 80g! I felt kind of ripped off? How can something so tiny cause so much trouble for so long.

AlternateUsername12

Mine was only 118! ā€œNot the size of the dog in the fight, itā€™s the size of the fight in the dogā€ seems appropriate here lol.

Gavagirl23

512g, with adenomyosis and so many fibroids they didn't really bother counting. I donated it to a research program; I hope that mess is helpful for someone!

Complex-Lemon-371

2313 grams

DENYKI

Mine was 1200 grams. No endo or ando just fibroids.

LeighofMar

428g. Fibroids and endo.

couchpotatotater

How did everyone find out the weight of their uterus? I am looking on my online portal, but don't see any weight info or images.

biguterusprobs

It would be on the pathology report

frusciantefango

I never got to know that either. It was just described as "18 week" in size. I wish I did know now, it would be interesting!

biguterusprobs

Mine was 140 grams. I think it's hard to feel justified in a hysterectomy when you see all the super heavy ones and while mine was still heavier than it should be, I caught mine pretty early on and didn't need to suffer as much as it seems like some of the other people on this subreddit have.

StepfordMisfit

Mine was 143 g 3.5 wks ago. My period would have been due this past Monday, same day I started running a book fair at my kid's school. We don't have many volunteers, so I was there for hours every day. I didn't have painful periods or probably even like 5% of the suffering a lot of the people in here have/had, but that hysterectomy saved me from super soaker mess at the middle school, so already totally worth it. Comparisons aren't all that helpful here. I'm glad you prevented needless suffering for yourself.

Haveoneonme21

150 grams and now that itā€™s gone my stomach is noticeably flatter. I also had a large ovarian cyst removed.

Babybee1983

Mine was 6lbs! Huge fibroid.

Right_Ad4135

Whoa!!!

jenlet78

Mine was 270g! The path report says adenomyosis but I havenā€™t seen my doctor yet to discuss further (my surgery date was 11/7).

trahnse

334g. One big ass fibroid and a couple little ones

Full-Background-5895

Saving this so I can come back.. Surgery on the 4th.

Right_Ad4135

Best of luck! Iā€™m 4 weeks out today.

LizzieBourbon

967 g

sugarintheboots

600g. They couldnā€™t even see past the gigantic fibroid inside on the mri.

_former_self

163gm including the right ovary and fallopian tubes.

Ok_Good9382

580 g. Fibroids.

Initial-Boat7495

43 grams. Underdeveloped but also adenomyosis from birth so no clue

IntelligentDesign77

150 grams. I had 2 small fibroids.

Mundane-Cupcake-7488

Post surgery, my uterus weighed 514.4g, and thatā€™s after Lupron Depot shrunk my fibroids. I got to see a picture of it when it was removed and, frankly, it was grotesquely misshapen, even the doctor was shocked. Kind of satisfying, though, like, ā€œof course, that thing would cause anyone problems.ā€

jenlet78

My path report describes mine as misshapen, too! I think the word was ā€œunrecognizableā€. šŸ™ƒ

jjbelle83

Mine was 4082g/9lbs. šŸ«£ I would post a pic, but I donā€™t want to traumatize anyone. šŸ˜

Right_Ad4135

Thatā€™s the biggest yet. Send it to me to see if you want! Gosh I bet that was so heavy

jjbelle83

I sent it. I hope youā€™re not eating. šŸ¤¢

Creative_Reporter_35

I am glad itā€™s out! Can you send to me? My surgery is Mon Nov 27 and Iā€™m told itā€™s 20 week pregnancy sized. I guess Iā€™ll find out soon.

twinsuns

298 g, one large fibroid.

rachelg024

296g fibroids

magster823

207g. Had fibroids and extensive endo all over my abdominal canal and organs. [The picture of it before removal is pretty nasty. ](https://imgur.com/a/BSqlC1J) Not that I really have a basis for comparison. I can't get over how large some of yours were! Google says 60g is the average weight of a healthy uterus. It's just insane how much we have to suffer to get this done.

Right_Ad4135

Holy cow!! Thanks for sharing!!

glyph1331

354gm. I had to actually go back and look

sometimes_snarky

A measly 140 g

Big_League227

115g

rizzo1717

I havenā€™t gotten mine out yet but my doctor described it as ā€œtinyā€ šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

HornetBest382

"UTERUS, CERVIX, RIGHT FALLOPIAN TUBE." It consists of a 95.5 gram hysterectomy specimen with an attached right fallopian tube. The uterus is 8.8 cm from cervix to fundus, 5.4 cm from cornu to cornu, and 4.3 cm from anterior to posterior.ā€œ Iā€™m not even sure whatā€™s normal tbh but mine seems small compared to some here haha! No endo no fibroids just a small cyst on my ovary that they left (lost one a decade ago) My extreme bleeding and clots and pain were basically unexplained besides my PCOS, and my papers say ā€œNO PATHOLOGIC DIAGNOSISā€ on most pieces they took, but the pain is all gone now!

triladrde

784 gram.

Fridavee

638 grams. Uterus and fibroid.

K_Pumpkin

159. Just had heavy periods that caused anemia.

Educational_Earth_62

70g. But one of the masses was pressing on the root of a nerve and the one on my ovary was giving me menopause symptoms at 40. No. Just NO. The difference in my quality of life is astounding. Iā€™ll be 6wpo on Thursday. I barely spotted for a few days. Thatā€™s it. I returned to work after 2 weeks. Stopped all pain medication after 3 days and I honestly didnā€™t need it even then. Resolving the nerve pain was euphoric. The surgery was a walk in the park compared to that.

Right_Ad4135

My nerve was in my back/ bowel area the pain had me blacking out when I needed to go to the bathroom. My recovery was much like yours. Way easier than any period.

Educational_Earth_62

Nerve pain is no joke. Glad you are feeling better!

adoyle17

Mine was normal weight, but the cyst on my right ovary had 25 liters of fluid that took 15 minutes to drain. My ovaries were removed at the same time as my hysterectomy. I found that out from my surgeon at the follow-up appointment. It was the largest cyst he had removed. I also lost 70lbs instantly.

fierce-hedgehog13

503g. Fibroids and adenomyosis.

Melodic-Switch-6535

933g šŸ‘€

hisAffectionateTart

2130 g

Right_Ad4135

Oof!

hisAffectionateTart

Yep.

user01993

110 g!

dead_flowers_grow

1820 g/4 lbs

thicccque

92 grams, I think.

Cool-Boat-6104

898 grams. Ugh!

seebearrun

Mine was 720g and I feel like it would have weighed more if I did it a week earlier bc I was on the last day of my period (my period just wanted that one last goodbye šŸ˜‚šŸ˜šŸ˜‚)

ocean-mountain

262 grams. My large fibroid was attached on a \[twisted\] stalk outside my uterus. I had two smaller fibroids inside my uterus.

sophiabarhoum

10 lbs. I had so many fibroids!

kilaja

I think mine was around 150g. I remember not being happy that it was twice the size it should be lol

Reasonable_Many3547

Mine was equivalent to a 4-month pregnancy.

I_sell_Seamoss

276g

TruthfulGreyTeddy

Mine was 500g

sleepy_little_panda

I just looked at my pathology report. Mine seems quite small at 299 grams compared to many of you! It was still huge, though.

Weekly_Peach_8301

I think my uterus is just a little thickk, just like my ass. I'm 48 and she keeps thickening up her lining like she wants me to put 4 babies in there. My youngest is 16. Had 4 vaginal births. Time to go, you little sassy bitch.

Creative_Reporter_35

Just had my robotic lap hysterectomy, evicted my uterus, tubes and cervix. 407 grams, my surgeon said it was big and angry. Filled with fibroids. I wonā€™t miss the bleeding or the cramps

mlledufarge

700 grams with one very large fibroid. Iā€™m only a day post-op and already I feel better without the pressure of that thing in my belly. It was causing so much discomfort and I honestly didnā€™t even realize how much until it was gone.
