This is called „planned obsolescence“. And definitely does not result out of performance issues of the cpu, rather Apple implementing barriers to generate incentives to buy a newer model.
I may consider resetting and cleaning out my iPad and redownload everything. I hope I can keep this for one more year, next year it’s going to be 6 years old, and I can see a 5-6 year old device getting slower, and battery life not as good as it once was.
Following, mine s also acting a little odd since the update. It seems to be with a few apps, I am updating them as the updates come and hoping that solves it. The freezing is annoying and the battery drain is definitely more now.
I have the m2 ipad pro and eversince i got the latest iOS17 I've gotten a lot of bugs with it. I noticed, although only a little, my battery loses its life quicker than before even if I use it with the same apps and the same time lengths like I did before. I'm pretty sure iOS17 is the actual problem. I've heard the first version of it had tons of complaints on the apple devices. I'm assuming we're experiencing the same. (I accidentally updated to iOS17 just last week, I've been trying to hold it off until I hear that it's been fixed)
Can confirm the rapid battery loss. I have the m2 11 inch cellular model, and even with cellular off and just connected to wifi, it drains battery so fast I had to restart it just because I was really concerned. This was on iPadOS 17.1. It's gotten a bit better after 17.2 , but nowhere to how iPadOS 16 held up battery.
Exactly! Wish I didnt update. I pressed accidentally. My widgets are even buggy and would all reset if I restart my ipad. It's not that bad of a concern but still annoying.
They already released 17.2? I'm still stuck at 17.1.1. Hopefully I get the 17.2 soon and praying it gives a better result. 😔

It sure is. This iPad is getting to be 5-6 years old now, I got it in 2018 I would like to keep my iPad Pro for at least one more year or two.
I have not noticed a problem

I also have a yellow tinge surrounding my screen now. Really disappointing.
I don’t notice any screen issues no burn in or yellowing.
thats caused by overheating a phone-mechanic or wtv theyre called actually explained it to me yesterday
Mine is a lot slower to connect to WiFi on iOS 17- have you had this problem?
When the battery dies and it restarts it’s a little slower to connect to Wi-Fi.
