My insurance pays for Wegovy bc my BMI is at 30 so it’s approved for weight loss. Before it was approved though I was on a compound I paid for out of pocket for about $250 a month through Mochi health. I still use them I just go through insurance now instead of the compound. When I was struggling to get approval I was basically told your company decides if these types of medications will be covered based on the employee plan they chose. So I have blue cross and mine is covered but my friend also has blue cross through a different employer and hers is not. It’s incredibly frustrating
IIH isn't classified as an obesity related condition like hyperlipidemia or heart disease or diabetes is. Even though we all know weight loss is the first recommended treatment.
According to my doctor at least. I wound up qualifying for the hyperlipidemia and high BMI.
