I feel like she is deep down jealous of somethings and i even read an article on this which said some moms tend to get jealous of particularly their daughters because it reminds them of when they used to be young and stuff like that. My maternal grandmother is jealous of my mom and always tries to sabotage her and tries to pull her down. Even though she is 80 years old. I just want her dead, so my mum can be happy. My mum had depressive episodes and lots of trauma because of her.

Or she may be comparing her childhood to yours and might feel she didn't have a good enough childhood.

For example, she humble brags how "beautiful and young" she looks even without makeup, as compared to other mothers of her age.

My mom never gets jealous of others' achievements. Actually, she motivates everyone and shares in their happiness. Whenever someone does something good, she's the first to applaud and say, "Wow, you've done an amazing job!" My mom's philosophy is that everyone should do well and move forward. She's just proud when someone succeeds, and in our family, we always celebrate each other's achievements.
