“Rubik’s cube” is one specific brand, much like Kleenex is a specific brand of tissues, and honestly pretty garbage quality. There are a ton of different brands making much better/faster 3x3 puzzle cubes now, mostly catering to speed-cubing.
No, actually it is the name of the puzzle:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubik%27s_Cube
The shitty brand name you are thinking is The Official Rubik's Cube (or RUBIKS for short).
I’m assuming there must be a maximum number of moves away from a solution for the Rubik’s cube-i.e. a ‘most disordered’ arrangement of the cube. For this world record to mean anything the cube would have to have started in that most disordered arrangement-anyone know if it was?
The thing about Rubik's cube solving is that there is a very clear algorithm in how it is done, so this is more an exercise of programming more than anything. If the computer was able to scan the cube AND solve it in 0.3s that would be much more impressive
It has repeated colors. There are clearly two different white sides or something similar, which kinda brings the authenticity of the claim into question.

Please work on robots that do chores now, thanks.
In 0.305 secs too
If a robot would do the dishes in .305 seconds, the dishes would be *done*.
Might toss a knife your way at high speed though.
Or your insides rip out of your body from the G forces of the robot getting you to Taco Bell 0.305 seconds
I want the robots to do my job while I solve a mf Rubik’s cube
Funny how a lot of people don't want that.
I'm happy for a robot to do his wife while I solve a Rubik's cube
What happened to the promise of robots who did our jobs and chores so that humanity was freed up to pursue art, poetry, and hobbies?
They decided not to pay anyone who wasn't working
It's pretty much gonna be the opposite
It's called a Rubik's cube. What's with the rotating puzzle, are they making pirated Rubik's cubes now?

It’s a Rubik’s cube because a dude called Rubik made it

They are all Rubik's cubes
Go Xerox your butthole.
i have heard the name Speed Cube before, but never whatever name OP has come up with.
Thanks. I was about to ask the same.
Most likely a bot using ai to generate the title

Wow, tackling the world's top problems one at a time......
Yeah. I'd like to see the price tag of this machine..
If you take one of the stickers off, does it just spin it forever? That would be cool
How do they rotate the 3 center planes ?
Rotating up and down is the same as rotating the center
Brudda what is you on
Wonder if it could use a faster algorithm if it allowed turning two layers simultaneously
Just…say it a Rubix’s Cube.
No one has ever called this a rotating puzzle cube, cos it's sounds really dumb.
You’re allowed to say Rubik’s
In Italy we say "Mecojoni"
That must stink of wd40.
Idk those delays between turning could be shaved down a couple milliseconds
3rd world countries with zero technology: Us:
How is it solved when the centerpiece doesn't match 🤔 ?
Why? Impressive, but, advancing humanity?
Machine solving problems at insane speed could lead to better number crunching when using mathematical data.

Do we know it's not? I wasn't sure if there was a way to tell of its just spinning to a programmed algorithm or a program did it from scratch.
Why not?
OMG, IRL TAS? WTF
Did it also solve it, or did it just rotate the pieces? In that case it's barely impressive.
What do you mean
Did the computer solve the cube, or did it just rotate the pieces in a set pattern, solved in advance?
It has repeated colors. There are clearly two different white sides or something similar, which kinda brings the authenticity of the claim into question.
The lighting is washing out the colors on the left side
Cool, now do cancer
In unrelated news, people are still starving and wars are still raging on. But hey. Your rubiks cube is *solved so fast*. Neet.
